Little Miss Devil: The President’s Mischievous Wife Chapter 238

Chapter 238

Lu Xinyi understood and didn’t dare to question any further. As long as there wouldn’t be any cheating that might happen during the competition, then everything should be fine. One thing she should think of now was where could she find a suitable sous-chef to assist her.

She and Shen Yi went back to their previous place and stayed to find out the sentiments of the locals about Grace Palace returning to business. It was then she noticed the eyes that were following her and her husband.

Among the eyes of the people around them, she sensed someone looking at her with resentment. She lifted her head and found Mo Lihui staring at her with a pair of cold eyes.

Mo Lihui was wearing a casual baby-pink dress, with her curly hair pinned in a low ponytail. Her eyes were adorned with a pair of eyeglasses with a golden frame. Her facial features were soft and feminine, with almond-shaped eyes that were looking back at her with hate.

Beside her stood a middle-aged man with an aquiline nose and slightly-muscular body built. On his white uniform, Blue Haven’s insignia was embroidered on his left chest.

They must be the owners of the Blue Haven Restaurant that was just across Grace Palace. Both must be extremely talented to be able to manage Blue Haven at its peak. What bothered Lu Xinyi was the way Mo Lihui stared at her like she did something horrible to her.

Why was she staring at her like that when, in fact, this was the first time she encountered this woman?

Her unspoken question was swiftly answered when Mo Lihui gaze shifted to Shen Yi, and her eyes softened.

Ah, it seemed she needed to swat another fly that dared to buzz around her husband. She already dealt with Duan Yong and that flirty waitress. Just how many women could her husband attract? Even in his disguise, women still fell willingly on his feet.

Lu Xinyi let out a sigh. Men; if they’re handsome enough, they could fool women to do their own bidding. He only needed to say sweet words and would be then allowed to play with their hearts. However, if he’s ugly, he’ll be considered as a hindrance to one’s eyes.

She turned her head and looked at the perfect side of Shen Yi’s face while he was busy surveying the crowd. High-bridged nose, beautiful lips that curl into that devil smile, eyes that express more than his words could, a well built-body beneath those clothes.

Ah, she really was a lucky one to be able to have him on her side! Such devilishly-handsome husband she got! Just how should she deal with this persistent problem she got by having a husband like Shen Yi?

Even if they decided to announce it in public, Lu Xinyi didn’t believe that women wouldn’t try to seduce Shen Yi anymore especially if she wasn’t around. She grimaced at the thought.

This was the only consequence from where she kept getting headaches: whenever women set their eyes on her husband. She propped a hand and cupped her chin to think without breaking her gaze at Shen Yi’s face. ρꪖꪕᦔꪖꪕꪫꪣꫀꪶ

Not only was he the most handsome man she met in her life (not that she would tell him, or else…), but he was also the biggest flirt she’d known in her twenty-five years of existence.

“What’s wrong?”

Deep in her thoughts, she failed to notice Shen Yi staring back at her with an amused expression in his face. The corners of his lips curled into that familiar teasing smile.

“Can it be that you’re finally ogling and appreciating my handsome features? If you really want to stare at this handsome face of mine, we can go back to our suite; and you can pay with a fair price,” he suggested.

Hearing those words, Lu Xinyi came back to her senses; and her cheeks turned scarlet. Seeing that people started throwing them another round of looks, she lowered her head and refused to see any further than what she’d seen.

“S-shut up! You conceited peacock!”

This man! How could he just flirt with her in public? Did he still have shame at all? Who would have thought that President Shen of the Shen Group could be as shameless and flirtatious like this?

If she was a lesser person, she would have fallen instantly for his charm. Still… Lu Xinyi was half-tempted to kiss him and make him shut up; but on the other hand, she was tempted to slap the grin off of his face.

How she could love him and get irritated by him at the same time—Lu Xinyi didn’t know.

Their sweet interactions weren’t lost to the people around them. In public eyes, they were just a pair of lovers that were teasing—making their single hearts cry in envy.

Amongst them, Mo Lihui was the one burning in anger. Her pretty face darkened as she was forced to watch Shen Yi flirt with Lu Xinyi, not caring if people around them could hear them.

Shen Yi’s laughter made Mo Lihui’s heart ached. How long had it been since she last saw him? If only she was brave enough to know him well after he saved her from a car accident, she would be the one standing beside him, smiling back at this gorgeous man.
