Chapter 884: Hold Hands
“Lay low? Can’t you understand a word I said?” Nian Xi took a deep breath, then said, “We lay low whenever we should, but in terms of great honor, we need to show them the strength of our powerful country.”
Jiang Yuning blinked and nodded.
Looking at his calm face, Nian Xi suddenly felt frustrated. She had talked so much, yet Jiang Yuning’s passion wasn’t aroused at all.
At half-past ten, they arrived at the Science & Technology Museum. The museum had a long history and many tourists were there when they arrived.
Zhan Hong said to Nian Xi, “It’s inappropriate for us to follow behind Mr. Jiang. I noticed the other scientists aren’t open with bodyguards. Later, you stay with Mr. Jiang. Tell the others that you’re his girlfriend. The rest of us will enter the museum as tourists. I know this place has strict security measures. It should be fine, just be careful. We’ll be right by you.”
“Okay.” Nian Xi nodded.
Jiang Yuning, Uncle Han and Nian Xi passed the security and entered the museum without the others.
Uncle Han abruptly stopped and said to her, “Miss. Nian, since you’re pretending to be Mr. Jiang’s girlfriend, maybe you should hold hands. No offense, but you don’t look like a couple at all.”
Nian Xi paused, while Jiang Yuning seemed to be confused. He had no idea how to pretend to be someone’s boyfriend.
With no other choice, he looked at Nian Xi.
Nian Xi worked in a police station before. Back in school, she had practiced how to pretend to be a couple with someone, but she never did it for a real mission.
However, she was in a relationship before, and she knew how to pretend.
She reached out and held Jiang Yuning’s hand.
Normally, she seemed to be a care-free girl. However, she rarely held hands with guys. She held Feng Ji Chuan’s hands before, but that didn’t happen often. After all, Feng Ji Chan was always away from home, in the army. She had broken up with him for about half a month and had forgotten about how holding hands felt.
Jiang Yuning’s hands weren’t as rough and warm as Feng Ji Chuan’s hands.
His hands were slightly cold, and her fingers were slim. Jiang Yuning’s fingertips were slightly calloused.
Nian Xi couldn’t help but rubbed his calloused fingers with hers.
Jiang Yuning’s entire hand went numb. He froze, and a stream of warmth spread all over his body and to his earlobes.
He wanted to write, but she was holding his hand. Her hand was hot and soft.
When she rubbed his fingers, he felt as if his body was on fire. Even walking became difficult for him.
“Don’t touch me,” he said in a low voice and looked at her shyly.
Behind them, Uncle Han was very surprised.
Nian Xi suddenly realized what she was doing. It was so embarrassing. However, she could not let anyone else know about her sneaky movements.
In a serious voice, she said to him, “I didn’t touch you. I am just holding your hand. Boyfriends and girlfriends have to hold hands. You need to get used to this.”
“Ah…” Jiang Yuning lowered his head.
Seeing him, Nian Xi was a little frustrated. It was like she was taking advantage of him.
“Let’s go.” Nian Xi guided him into the museum.
Walking into the museum, she sensed the beauty of history.
Scientists from all over the world were in the lobby. Most of them were over forty years old, so Jiang Yuning caught people’s’ eye once he went in.
“Are you Mr. Jiang? I am Burnie. I am an attendant from the Paris Institute of Physics.” A blonde middle-aged man walked over, smiling and speaking in English.
