Luosang glanced at the book and said in an unfriendly tone, “I’m sorry, I’m just a surrogate mother. Why are you talking about fatherly love and motherly love?”
“Luo, those are some awful words. Our baby has life, even though she’s only an embryo now.” Nian Junting put down the book. He was slow-minded, but still, he could feel that Luosang was still mad at him about the pregnancy contract.
He thought for a moment and then reached out his arms in a bossy manner. He made her sit on his knees, then looked her in the eyes and said, “Luo, are you still angry because I made you sign that contract? Actually, I did it because I was afraid that I might lose you. Jiang Qifei threatened you, so you gave up on me immediately. That made me so sad. I was worried that this kind of thing might happen again. That’s why I wanted to have a baby with you. That way, you’ll never leave me again.”
Luosang was touched a little. In fact, before Nian Junting made her sign the contract, she had felt guilty, too. God knew how terrible she felt in those days seeing him suffer. She was angry because he didn’t plan to tell her the truth until he found out that she was pregnant.
“Why are you sad? Didn’t you say that you knew it all since the beginning, and that you were only pretending?” Luosang said sarcastically, “You even faked it when you showered in the rain downstairs at my apartment. I guess the love poem that you read in my school was fake, too, wasn’t it?”
Nian Junting didn’t know how to respond. If he had known this, he wouldn’t have lied to save his face earlier. If he denied it now, he would lose even more face. Seeing the look on his face, Luosang figured that he regretted it. He deserved it. He shouldn’t have lied to her.
As he showed no sign of admitting it, Luosang decided to tell the truth herself. “Su told me that you talked to her after you were soaked in the rain. You weren’t pretending, were you?”
Nian Junting picked up a glass of water and took a sip awkwardly. His handsome face was stained with a suspicious redness. Luosang teased, “Acting skill? If you’re really that good at acting, you should have been awarded an Oscar.”
“But I did pretty good afterward, at the airport, in Beijing,” Nian Junting hurriedly added.
“Don’t even mention what happened at the airport and in Beijing to me. I still remember how close you and An Lan were. You even visited Yonghe Lama temple together.” Luosang was so unhappy that she even wanted to bite him.
Looking at her angry face, Nian Junting laughed. He gently put an arm around her waist and said, “An Lan and I were only pretending. You and Chi Shengxu did the same to fool me, so I needed to make you jealous as well. Only in that way would you sign that contract sooner, because you didn’t want to lose me. In fact, there was nothing between An Lan and me. You’re the only person in my heart. Luo, you’re the only person that I love.”
Hearing that, Luosang had a sweet feeling. What she had worried the most about was that he might never forgive her for what she had done and that he might leave her. Unexpectedly, it had ended this way.

You gave me an opportunity. I admit that I set a trap. But Luo, I want to be a father. I want to have a baby with you. I’m gonna love you both so much.”
Luosang’s heart was even melting. A short while later, she responded shyly, “What if it’s a boy? Don’t tell me that it has to be a girl. You can’t tell for sure.”
“If it’s a boy, you’ll be nice to him, and I’ll be nice to you only.” Nian Junting gave her a kiss on the cheek.
Luosang’s face reddened a little.
