Chapter 473: Together Forever
She learned to spend time on her own. She learned to spend time on other things when there was no one else around.
She learned to cook, learned to make desserts, learned to make sugar art, learned to embroider, and learned to knit.
She devoted her time to these things. These hobbies made her feel at peace.
And thus, after being calm for so long, she forgot how to have emotions as well.
Jian Yiling didn’t know what else she could do when she was sad. Usually, she would quietly wait for that sadness to dissipate on its own.
“Yiling…” Zhai Yunsheng started. He looked at Jian Yiling’s downcast face. His heart felt touched by something strange and his face immediately softened.
He stretched out his hand to try and brush away the sadness on her face.
She had never shown her emotions before.
It wasn’t because she didn’t have emotions. Rather, it was just that she had gotten used to being alone.
Then, Zhai Yunsheng asked Jian Yiling: “Then, are you happy when I’m nice to you?”
“Mhmm…”
“Then, if I’m not angry, you won’t be sad?”

Zhai Yunsheng’s hand gently brushed through Jian Yiling’s hair.
She cared about him.
She cared about him a lot.
However, she didn’t know how to express herself. She didn’t know how to express her feelings for someone who wasn’t related to her by blood.
It seemed as though she was slow-witted when it came to such a thing.
However, she did have feelings for him.
Although it wasn’t necessarily love, she cared for him. She truly cared for him.
Then, Zhai Yunsheng said to Jian Yiling: “Little fool, I’m not angry.”
“I’m not a fool,” Jian Yiling retorted.
“Mhmm, you’re not a fool. I’m the fool,” Zhai Yunsheng conceded.
Although his girl didn’t know much about feelings yet, there was no rush. As long as she had slowly started to care, he could slowly teach her the rest.
Zhai Yunsheng gently took Jian Yiling’s small hand into his palm.
His palm could cover Jian Yiling’s small hand.
Her hand was soft and fair. There wasn’t a single cut or scar on her hand.
Jian Yiling cared about her hands the most. If someone were to hit her, she would rather let them hit her face than hit her hand.
She relied on her hands to survive. She couldn’t let her hands get hurt.
“Do you dislike this?” Zhai Yunsheng asked Jian Yiling.
Jian Yiling shook her head. She didn’t hate his hand holding her hand.
“What about other people?”
“It’s okay with Grandma Jian, Yunmo, and Yujie. I haven’t tried with anyone else.”
Jian Yiling counted out loud.
Zhai Yunsheng held onto Jian Yiling’s hand.
He held on tightly. He didn’t want to let go again.
