Inside the hospital ward.
There were two beds.
On the bed by the window, there was Zhai Yunsheng.
There was a lot of medical equipment that was attached to Zhai Yunsheng’s body. The equipment monitored his body with a range of indicators.
On the bed by the door, there was Jian Yiling.
Jian Yiling hadn’t suffered any serious injuries. She only had a few bruises and mild swelling. However, she was escorted by Zhai Yunsheng’s men to the hospital. They asked her to do a number of hospital examinations.
The entrance of the ward was guarded by Zhai Yunsheng’s bodyguards and members of the Jian family.
The bodyguards didn’t dare to let Jian Yiling leave. They were worried that Zhai Yunsheng would get worried and lose his temper if he didn’t see her when he woke up.

As Jian Yiling looked at him, she felt that he looked inexplicably frail. He didn’t seem to be his usual self. The overbearing and dominating Zhai Yunsheng.
The medical equipment next to him showed that his heartbeat had returned to normal.
After a while, Zhai Yunsheng gradually regained his consciousness. He slowly opened his eyes.
The first person he saw when he opened his eyes was Jian Yiling. Jian Yiling was still looking at him.
The two red marks had not yet completely faded from her fair and delicate face.
Jian Yiling looked at him with her bright and shining eyes.
It seemed as though she was rather concerned about him. Her eyebrows were slightly knitted together.
The two of them looked at each other quietly.
For a long time, they looked at each other in silence.
After a while, Jian Yiling finally broke the silence: “Are you… Are you feeling better?”
“I’m okay,” Zhai Yunsheng responded. His voice was lower than usual and his tone was a bit more serious as well.
His eyes appeared to be deep in through as well.
“Jian Yiling, I’m going back,” Zhai Yunsheng suddenly said.
“You need to stay in the hospital for another night,” Jian Yiling responded.
“I’m going back to the capital,” Zhai Yunsheng replied.
He did not mean that he was leaving the hospital right now. Instead, he meant that he was planning to leave Hengyuan City.
Jian Yiling was stunned for a moment.
It was a bit sudden. However, it made sense as well.
He shouldn’t have stayed in Hengyuan City for so long in the first place. It made sense for him to return to Beijing.
It was just that the timing of it seemed a bit off…

“Why?”
“There’s no reason. Just promise me that you won’t go there.”
