Chapter 159: Cosy Hospital Ward (1)
Her hand was freezing. As he had her hand in the center of his palm, he tried to transfer some of his warmth into her small hand.
Jian Yiling was still in a daze. She began to have a nightmare again.
In her nightmare, she was standing in a mortuary. The coffin in front of her held a corpse.
And the face of that corpse was Jian Yujie.
She couldn’t help but stand a few meters away from the body. She didn’t dare to take another step forward.
The image in front of her was so vivid and clear. It was as though she had experienced and seen it right in front of her eyes.

As soon as Yu Xi finished calling his housekeeper, he received a phone call from Jian Yujie.
“Yu Xi, are you free right now? Yiling is missing. I tried calling her phone but I couldn’t reach her.”
Jian Yujie was outside right now. He had been furiously searching for Jian Yiling.
However, he didn’t manage to contact her. Her mobile phone had been switched off.
He had called for a taxi and began to wander around the city like a headless fly.
In his helplessness, he suddenly thought of two people who could potentially help him, and that was Jian Yumin and Yu Xi.
He had just called the number of his brother, but his brother’s assistant had answered the phone. The assistant had told him that Jian Yumin was currently recording a program.
As a result, Jian Yujie could only contact Yu Xi.
“She’s fine. She’s with me right now,” Yu Xi replied.
When Jian Yujie heard Yu Xi’s reply, his whole world lit up again.
“For real? Is Yiling really with you? Is she okay?”
Jian Yujie immediately threw out a series of questions.
“She’s fine. Don’t worry,” Yu Xi answered quickly. He was worried that Jian Yujie would become worried again if he delayed his reply.
“Where are you? I’ll come over right now!”
“We’re at Tongde Private Hospital.”
“The hospital? What happened? Is Yiling okay?”
“She’s okay. Come over first.”
Yu Xi thought that it was better for Jian Yujie to come over and see the situation for himself. He didn’t want Jian Yujie to become overly anxious when he heard about Yiling fainting.
“Okay,” Jian Yujie replied. He asked the taxi driver to take him to the hospital.
When he arrived at the hospital, he saw Jian Yiling lying on the hospital bed before he even entered the room. He could see through the windows of the hospital ward.
“What’s wrong with Yiling? What happened?”
Jian Yujie wanted to rush towards Jian Yiling. However, Yu Xi stopped him in his tracks before he could get through the door.
“Calm down. Your sister is sleeping. She’s fine. Don’t cause a ruckus. You’d wake her up. She needs rest right now!”
When Jian Yujie heard Yu Xi’s words, he immediately calmed down.
“Is Yiling really okay?”
“She left the hospital before her gastroenteritis cleared up. She also kept running about in the cold weather. As a result, her condition repeated itself.”
Jian Yujie’s thoughts immediately went back to Jian Yiling’s appearance at his school. She had been waiting for him outside his classroom.
In the last few days, the temperature had been below zero. She had been sick, yet she ran out of the hospital to talk to him in this weather.
Jian Yujie didn’t want to cry. He felt that it would be incredibly embarrassing to cry in front of people. However, he couldn’t stop the tears coming out of his eyes.
However, Yu Xi didn’t laugh at Jian Yujie. Instead, he handed him a pack of tissues.
“It’s okay… Yiling will be fine. Don’t be sad,” Yu Xi comforted. He patted Jian Yujie on the shoulder as a gesture of comfort.
Yu Xi didn’t really know what had happened between the two.
However, he knew that something was wrong. One of them was lying down on the hospital bed and the other was crying his eyes out.
After Jian Yujie got himself together, he entered Jian Yiling’s hospital ward.
Zhai Yunsheng had already returned Jian Yiling’s hand back under the blanket.
He didn’t know when she had unclenched her fists.
After waiting for about ten minutes, Jian Yiling finally woke up.
As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw that three people were sitting beside her hospital bed. It was Zhai Yunsheng, Jian Yujie, and Yu Xi.
Immediately, she knew that she had caused them trouble once again.
