These elderly individuals were more interested in research than in anything else.
As they were discussing these things, a middle-aged doctor appeared next to them. This man only started attending this medical conference in the past two years.
He smiled and asked Jian Yiling about the incident he read online:
“Dr. Jian, are you scared of competing against Dr. Fei? Is that news true?”
Jian Yiling merely glanced at the other person.
Elder Yun hurriedly defended Jian Yiling: “What do you mean by scared? That’s definitely not the case. It’s just that Dr. Jian isn’t interested in competing.”
Being scared to compete and not being interested in competing were two completely different things.
“Is that so?” the middle-aged man asked. His eyes evidently did not believe in Jian Yilnig’s words. “Well, it just so happens that I know Grandpa Li’s son. His son told me what happened. If you’re scared of competing against Dr. Fei, that’s totally fine. However, you shouldn’t say those things to Grandpa Li. It’s a very disrespectful thing to do.”
Grandpa Li’s daughters and sons were all well-known and well-respected individuals.
Grandpa Li’s eldest son just so happened to be friends with this middle-aged man.
And thus, he heard this news from Grandpa Li’s eldest son.
As someone who was in the medical profession, he felt bad to have such a person working in the same field as him.
It just so happened that he met Jian Yiling today at the medical conference. She was even attending as the representative of Lahaisen Hospital.
“This has nothing to do with you,” Jian Yiling replied indifferently.
“It indeed has nothing to do with me. However, I just simply feel sorry for Lahaisen Hospital.”
As he said this, the middle-aged man glanced at Li Zhuojia who was standing beside Jian Yiling: “What do you think Vice-Dean? Have you heard about this incident that happened amongst your doctors in the Beijing branch?”
“I haven’t heard about it,” Li Zhuojia answered. “However, it’s not important.”
“Vice-Dean, you essentially take care of Lahaisen Hospital’s entirety. If you don’t treat your subordinates fairly and impartially, no one will be able to trust Lahaisen Hospital,” the middle-aged man said in a heavy tone. It seemed as though he was looking out for Lahaisen Hospital’s interests.
However, Li Zhuojia replied bluntly: “Lahaisen Hospital never claimed to be a fair and impartial place. In addition, we don’t care about what everyone else thinks of us.”
Lahaisen Hospital always had the attitude of come and go as you please.
Whether it was a doctor or a patient, if you wanted to come, then you could come. However, if you didn’t want to be here, no one would force you to stay.
And naturally, when you were in Lahaisen Hospital, you had to listen to their rules.
Evidently, the middle-aged man did not expect Li Zhuojia to say such things. As a result, he did not know what he was meant to say.
However, he did not dare to directly argue against Li Zhuojia. After all, he was the Vice-Dean of Lahaisen Hospital. Everyone in the industry respected him. Offending him definitely would not be a wise decision.
And thus, the middle-aged man turned around and walked away in a huff.
It seemed like he would grow white hair if he talked to these members from Lahaisen Hospital any longer.
Jian Yiling said to Elder Yun: “Let’s go and discuss this in the lounge room.”
“Sure, let’s continue our discussion there,” Elder Yun replied. He didn’t want to deal with that person anymore either.

After the medical conference ended, the middle-aged man went home and logged onto the most famous medical forum in China. He wrote up an article on Jian Yiling and criticized her behavior.
After he posted the article, the middle-aged man looked smugly at the article he had written. He thought the piece of writing was quite amazing.
