It was already Teno’ clock when Xia Ning woke up the next morning.
The seat next to her was already empty. She rubbed her sore waist. Last night, the man had tormented her until very late before letting her go. Thinking about that day in Hawaii, he probably had held it in too much, so he had taught her a lesson the first night he came back.
In a daze, she remembered him kissing her after he woke up, saying that he had gone to work, and they had lunch together in the afternoon.

She got out of bed, washed up, and went downstairs. Enoch was sitting on the sofa watching TV, while Gao Wanhua was sitting beside him and reading the newspaper.

“Thank you, Mom.” Xia Ning felt even more embarrassed as she spoke. Even though she had grown up abroad and did not understand the way China mother-in-law and daughter-in-law got along, she had acted in some films and knew that in Chinese tradition, the daughter-in-law had to wake up early. It was really unusual for her mother-in-law to still leave food for her even though she woke up late.
Gao Wanhua smiled and walked toward the kitchen.
Xia Ning walked to the sofa and sat down. Enoch immediately leaned against her, but his eyes were still on the TV.
Xia Ning was naturally happy to see her son so clingy to her. She pulled him into her arms and said with a smile,””Why do you like to watch cartoons so much?”
“Because no one is playing with me!” Enoch said as he looked up at Xia Ning.
Xia Ning thought that he wouldn’t hear her or would ignore her. To her surprise, he answered her. Looking at her son’s pure and innocent face, she smiled and said,”I’ll send you to kindergarten this year. Then, you’ll be able to play with the other children!”
“Don ‘t!” Enoch replied without thinking.
Xia Ning looked at him in surprise.”What’s the matter?”
“I don’t want to play with others, I want to play with my sister!” Enoch looked at Xia Ning with a serious expression on his face.
Playing with his sister? Wasn’t this still a matter that couldn’t be seen? Xia Ning looked at her son in confusion.
“Do you want a younger sister that much?” Xia Ning suddenly laughed and said,”did your father teach you that?”
“Daddi said that if I have a sister, I can eat as many chicken legs as I want in the future.” Enoch looked at Xia Ning with his big, sparkling eyes.
Xia Ning was speechless.”Hey, son, you’ve been bought over by chicken legs?!”
So in his opinion, a younger sister was equivalent to a lot of chicken legs?

After she finished her breakfast, Qiao Yu called.
“Have you had breakfast?” His voice was very gentle over the phone.

Xia Ning took a look at the time. It was already 11 O’ clock, and they were going to have dinner in an hour. She asked,””What are we having for lunch?”
