Fate Online: Shadow Chapter 385

Chapter 384 - Sneaking Back

Almost three hours after the incident, Michael was already heading towards his next destination..

[Just this afternoon, the CEO of Queens Entertainment, Lee Chang Yoo was reported shot dead inside his office. Authorities are looking for…]

“Really? In broad daylight? That kid sure knows how to make trouble. So, are you satisfied with the service, customer?” said Fox with a laugh as she watched the news being broadcasted on the television before turning her attention towards the young man sitting before the bar counter, looking really excited and shook at the same time.

Jong Woo looked back at Fox and replied with a shaking voice, “Y-yes ma’am, thank you! Thank you!”

“Keep your thanks to yourself, we’re only doing our jobs. Remember the deal, and don’t let the others smell that you’re related to this, understand?” said Fox with a not so smile on her face.

Jong Woo nodded hastily like a chicken as he couldn’t hide the happiness on his face even though he’s slightly shaking from the sudden events.

Lee Chang Yoo’s death unexpectedly became a trigger for a lot of small skirmishes between gangs around the country, and until it became a full blown war among the five largest gangs, and where the national authorities were forced to intervene for the safety of the civilians.

Of course, those events will be a story for another time.

On the other hand, Michael had successfully boarded his flight back to this country without any problems.

In fact, Michael knew that what he did wasn’t a perfect hit at all as he had deliberately left small traces when he assassinated Chang Yoo from just a couple of buildings away.

After all, the world is now advanced and has a lot of CCTV cameras, even remote back alleys aren’t spared from it, and he just did it on a whim.

That was the reason why Michael directly made his way to the airport after he checked out from his hotel, because even though he disguised himself well. There’s the possibility that a detective who is great at deductions would be able to notice what was really going on if they go through all the CCTV cameras that caught him.

And if he still lingers around by then, he would surely have cops at his back.

In another corner of the city, a group of police officers are currently going through the CCTV cameras of the buildings around Queens Entertainment, followed by the public CCTV cameras.

In one group, a middle aged man was looking through the multiple CCTV cameras that were replaying all the tapes from a few hours ago with a serious expression on his face, and the guard who was operating the monitors couldn’t help but have cold sweat while being surrounded by three stern looking police detectives.

“Stop…there” said the average looking detective as he pointed at one of the monitors, specifically to a person in black suit holding a briefcase, and the arrogant gesture of tipping his fedora towards the camera with a huge smile on his face.

And that’s not only the most disturbing thing, the face in the camera wasn’t Michael at all, but that of a different appearance like he was using Wukong’s ability of seventy two transformations but…only with the face!

“This…bastard! How arrogant!” said one of three detectives with gritted teeth as he perceived that action from Michael as taunting them to come and find him!

“Relax, it’s not like this is your first rodeo about this kind of thing. I’m pretty sure this guy is using a skin as he had the audacity to reveal his face towards the camera, and most of all, we’re not even sure if this man is our suspect” said another police officer wearing a police hat.

Then soon after, reports of the same man wearing the same attire were also spotted at the surveillance cameras from the other buildings, and the three officers couldn’t help but look at each other in dismay.

“That bastard…he had accomplices!”

Meanwhile, on the flight back home.

Michael was leisurely leaning back on his seat as he looked at the cloudless sky outside the window.

’Tut, tut, I wonder how long would they realize that I’ve long disappeared. Having helpers really makes the work easier, I just hope they don’t get themselves into trouble for what happened’

’Right, I also forgot to buy a gift for Cathy. I’ll stop by the mall and buy one when I arrive at Central City’

Fourteen or so hours later.

After a long flight, Michael finally arrived at Central City Airport, looking a little weary.

No one was there waiting for him when he walked past through the gate because he didn’t tell anyone about his return, and along with a suitcase, Michael made his way to the parking lot and boarded his car that he left behind at the airport a few days ago.

So he drove his car towards the largest mall in the city and arrived there forty five minutes later.

“It’s been a while since I’ve been here” said Michael as he got down from his car from the parking lot connected to the building.

Michael didn’t do much except for getting a quick meal from Jollibee, followed by a gift he bought for Cathy before he drove back home.

Arriving at his fully furnished home, Michael locked the door and quickly headed to his bedroom and jumped on his bed and took a nap until two in the afternoon where he was woken up by the doorbell from the front door and his phone constantly ringing from someone calling him.

Ding dong~!

The sleeping Michael abruptly opened his eyes and quickly jumped down from his bed, ignored his phone and wore his pair of indoor sleepers and slowly made his way downstairs and towards the front door.

And through the peephole, Michael saw the person standing by the front door, and his sleepiness quickly went away and he hastily opened his door.

“Amanda, why are you here?”

Standing before him with her arms crossed, Amanda raised an eyebrow and said, “Really? You didn’t even bother to call me?”

Michael smiled bitterly and said, “I was supposed to surprise you tonight. Anyway, come inside, how come you know I’m back?”

“Dude, there’s like only five or so houses between us”

“Ohhh~ right”
