The fire in me flared up immediately, “Young Master Jing, so you want me to go in to kowtow to them to show my respect?”

Following the frightened waiter, we arrived at our own booth. By then my temper had evened out already. Jing Ni’s expression was sad. She sat silently by my side. I suddenly remembered, “Wait, why didn’t Lee Yang come to find us when he has returned to M City? Let’s go demand an explanation from him!”
Jing Ni stopped me. “Nanxing, don’t!”
“Why? You didn’t know he has returned? Plus isn’t he supposed to hate Jing Yan? Why is he coming to this party with her then? He, he, he…” I was getting fired up again.
Jing Ni pulled me back into the chair. “Nanxing, certain things don’t need to be said.”
“Like what? Like he has been ignoring your existence? Like how he didn’t stand up for you earlier? Like how he has abandoned you? How can the man be so shameless?” I was about to explode.
Jing Ni smiled bitterly, “Nanxing, even if you call him over, and force him to apologize, will you believe him? I wouldn’t. If he admits that he has moved on to be with Jing Yan, then what else can we do? Either way, my heart will be broken so Nanxing just let it be. The current situation is not bad. Ignorance is bliss!”
I gritted my teeth. “But you guys have literally been through life and death together!”

The waiter served the food.
Jing Ni nudged me. “Nanxing, let’s dig in. Nothing is more important than food. Food will never let us down. Your little uncle has done so much to book this place for us, we shouldn’t disappoint him!”
I nodded. “You’re right, Ni Ni! Actually why don’t you just marry my little uncle. If you’re my little aunt, I will come home every night. And I don’t need to worry about my little uncle’s life anymore!”
Jing Ni tapped me. “Nanxing, how can you sell your uncle out like this!”
We closed the door and focused on the delicious food before us.
Internally I was hoping that Lee Yang would barge into our booth and explain to Jing Ni that he was just acting. But he didn’t. There was no sign of the man even after we were almost done with our dinner. I sighed internally.
Jing Ni had placed her heart with the wrong man. However, Jing Ni was more rational than I thought. The girl had grown tougher without me realizing it.
However, just as we were about to complete the meal, disturbance came from outside. I expected this because the next door booth contained people who were all related to us.
When the door opened though, I was surprised because it Mai Qi. She had a waiter holding a fruit plate trailing behind her.
She was as arrogant as before. She ordered the waiter. “Put the thing down and leave!”
Jing Ni and I shared a look as the young lady sat down before us gracefully.
“Nanxing, I didn’t know you are Tong Le’s niece, I was wrong to misjudge you.” The young lady said.
I was confused. I looked at her in surprise. She is really apologizing?
Mai Qi continued, “But I’m seriously interested in your uncle, I want to be his girlfriend, can you help me?”
I shook my head. “I’m sorry but I don’t intervene in my little uncle’s private life.”
Mai Qi gritted her teeth. “Name your conditions. As long as you can help me, I will satisfy any of your conditions.”
I couldn’t help but laugh, “Mai Qi, I don’t know where you get this idea but I’m not going to sell my uncle out!”
