Jiang Xingyi fiddled with his phone and said without looking up, “No, I’m not deleting it.”
“Have you ever noticed the reactions? Have you looked at the arguments exploding online?” Wu Ting slammed the table. “Also, why didn’t you tell me you were dating? You actually kept such an important matter from me until now!”
“As your manager, I actually got the news about you from the Internet! I think you’ve really been looking down on me recently! You haven’t been listening to a single word I’ve said to you!”
“Don’t think that you can do whatever you want just because you’re popular now. Do you know that once the news of your dating spreads, you’ll definitely lose a large number of fans?!”
Wu Ting gave out a long speech. Seeing Jiang Xingyi’s indifferent look, he became even angrier. “Are you even listening to me?!”
“I’m listening.”
Jiang Xingyi’s expression didn’t change much. After Wu Ting had finished, he asked calmly, “Are you done scolding me?”
Wu Ting crossed his arms. Seeing Jiang Xingyi’s indifferent look made him simmer.
He leaned against the wall. “You better give me a reasonable explanation.”
“I’m afraid I don’t have an explanation for you.” Jiang Xingyi placed his phone on the table and looked up. “If I remember correctly, the reason I chose to cooperate with you and sign the agreement was that you said you would fully support my music career.”
“My original wish was to make music well and that hasn’t changed. I hope to be remembered as a singer, not something else. I only need to rely on my work and strength to be heard, not on some stupid fan-attracting persona.”
“There are many people in the industry who are far more talented than you and sing better than you! What do you think you are relying on to become famous?”
Wu Ting retorted, “Those fans on Weibo call you ‘Brother’ and ‘Prince Charming’ so cheerfully. Do you really think that what attracted them was your music?!”
“Grow up. You didn’t want to go on variety shows, fine. I helped you clear that with the program team. Now, after I’ve just cleaned up one of your messes, you create another even bigger mess for me!”
Jiang Xingyi frowned. “You’re the one who accepted that variety show without my consent. Is there a problem if I don’t go?”
“I’m doing this for your own good!”
Jiang Xingyi said mockingly, “You’re acting in the name of my own good and disregarding my wishes. Yeah, right.”
“I don’t want to talk about this with you right now! Don’t change the topic!” Wu Ting said impatiently.
He walked over and extended his hand. “Give me your phone. I’ll delete it for you right now.”
Jiang Xingyi refused. “No.”
Wu Ting frowned and stared at him. Jiang Xingyi, on the other hand, looked back coldly and refused to budge.
Xiao Fan, who was standing at the side, was afraid that he would be swept away by the typhoon. He did not even dare to breathe loudly.
After a long while, Wu Ting gave up. He asked with a straight face, “Has the other party prepared a draft? Was she the one who forced you to publish it? Then why didn’t she reply?”
