Quan Jue stood at the side and looked at them. He couldn’t help recalling the memories he had seen in the diary.
From the looks of it, Bai Wanxi and Chi Jiao really looked like close sisters.
Quan Jue cleared his throat and walked forward. He looked at them and said, “There are many more fun things to do. If you’re interested, you can play them one by one.”
“Really? Jiaojiao, I want to play. Can you accompany me?” Bai Wanxi had never seen so much delicious food and games. Previously, when She Qi took her away, he had locked her in a room for a few days and nights. There was nothing fun to do. He only made her smell that fragrance that disgusted her so much that she couldn’t eat. Therefore, she especially cherished the time she could come out to play.
Chi Jiao looked at the eager Bai Wanxi and couldn’t bear to reject her request. “Alright, let’s have fun today. Let’s play all the fun games here!”
Bai Wanxi smiled and clapped excitedly. “Jiaojiao, you’re the best! Let’s go.”
With that, Bai Wanxi, Chi Jiao, and the rest continued to enjoy themselves at the night market. They tried all the good food and played around before finally returning home.
They didn’t send Bai Wanxi back to the 117 building. Instead, Chi Jiao and Quan Jue brought her back to the Chi residence.
When the three of them reached home, they saw a figure sitting up on the sofa. It was Lu Xian, who had yet to go to bed.
Lu Xian seemed to have been waiting here for a long time. She was wearing a snow-white silk nightdress, and her long hair was tied casually behind her head. A few loose strands of hair hung down, making her look noble and charming.
Lu Xian immediately stood up enthusiastically to welcome them when she saw them. She smiled and said, “You’re back? Have you eaten?”
“Mom, we ate before coming back. Why aren’t you asleep yet?” Quan Jue shot Bai Wanxi a look.
On the way back, they had instructed Bai Wanxi to disguise herself as Xu Ye if she saw anyone at home, in case they discovered that something was wrong.
Bai Wanxi understood and nodded at her. “Auntie.”
Lu Xian mistook her for Xu Ye and hurried forward. She gently touched Bai Wanxi’s little face. “Xiao Ye, how’s your health? Your father said that the hospital you’re in doesn’t allow family members to visit. I’ve been very worried about you.”
Lu Xian didn’t sleep today because she was waiting to see Xu Ye.
Her hand was especially warm, causing Bai Wanxi’s heart to flutter. She couldn’t help indulging in her gentleness as she replied obediently, “Auntie, I’m fine now. It’s very late. Let’s go back to our rooms to rest.”
Lu Xian didn’t sense anything amiss from their conversation. She smiled and nodded. The few of them went upstairs together. Lu Xian returned to her room first. Quan Jue and Chi Jiao arranged for Bai Wanxi’s room to be in the guest room next to theirs. They also asked Quan Jue’s subordinates to guard the window and door of the room to prevent any accidents.
After settling Bai Wanxi down, the others returned to their rooms to rest.
Chi Jiao returned to her room to take a shower. She then took her pillow and crept to Quan Jue’s room. She opened the door and quickly crawled under his blanket.
Quan Jue saw Chi Jiao lying under his blanket when he came out of the shower, blinking her big eyes at him expectantly.
