Chi Jiao had dressed up meticulously today just to hear Quan Jue’s praise. Now that she had gotten her wish, she felt that it was worth all the effort.
“Brother Quan, let’s go down and play in the water together?” Chi Jiao asked as she held his hand.
“Quan Jue is barbecuing meat with me. It’s already noon and time for lunch. Lu Xian, bring Jiaojiao and the rest into the water to play first. We can eat in half an hour,” Chi Mingwei said with a smile.
“I can’t let Uncle do it alone. I’ll accompany him. You guys go play first.” Quan Jue gently grabbed Chi Jiao’s hand and whispered in her ear, “Have fun. Come and find me alone tonight, I have a surprise for you.”
Quan Jue spoke just loud enough for Chi Jiao to hear him. No one else did.
Chi Jiao’s heart was like a drum as she was filled with anticipation.
“Wow, Quan Jue, you are only whispering to Chi Jiao, you don’t want the rest of us to hear. We want to know too!” Dang Nan didn’t really want to know. She was just teasing Chi Jiao.
“That’s right, that’s right. You’re so biased. We want to know too…” Yi Lanlan teased.
“You… You guys are so mean. Watch how I teach you a lesson.” Chi Jiao pretended to chase after the three of them.
Bai Weiyu cried out softly and pulled Dang Nan and Yi Lanlan away.
Lu Xian watched as the girls played around, running all the way to the water. She also smiled happily.
“Auntie, I’m… I’m coming.” Xu Ye had taken a helicopter from the 117 building. His trip had been longer and he was panting from exhaustion as he ran over.
Lu Xian smiled when she saw him. She walked over and wiped his sweat. “Why are you in such a hurry? We’re all waiting for you here. We won’t run away.”
Xu Ye obediently bent over, but his eyes were filled with grievance.
Xu Ye was very upset. He couldn’t understand why he was the only one who had to come from the 117 building. He had to change helicopters a few times along the way to hide his tracks.
He was being protected, but he felt like he was being held hostage!
Di Ziyan and Zhan Tingting tactfully hid in the nearby forest and did not follow Xu Ye onto the beach. Instead, they hid in the dark and continued to watch over him from a discreet distance.

Xu Ye instantly knew who had done it. He turned to look at Quan Jue and asked coldly, “Quan Jue, did you do that on purpose?”
“Of course. Only girls can play with water. You have to prepare lunch with us. Come over quickly, or I’ll use durian next time.” Quan Jue raised his eyebrows high. He clearly had no intention of giving Xu Ye any chance to come into contact with Chi Jiao.
Xu Ye was indignant and threw the apple back.
