“You still can smile! Why didn’t you stop Qiao Mei from doing this! She’s still young and doesn’t have any sense of appropriateness. Are you also a child?” Xia Fang reprimanded.
“…I can’t persuade her either,” Xia He said.
Qiao Mei stood in front of Xia Fang and said, “Aunt, this has nothing to do with elder sister. She kept stopping me from going and even protected me.”
Xia Fang completely ignored what Qiao Mei said. This matter was just Xia He’s fault.

“Your turn,” Xia Fang said as she stared at Qiao Mei sternly.
“I… um… Aunt, you just came back and haven’t eaten yet, right? I’ll go make you something to eat now. Aunt, please don’t be angry.” Qiao Mei slowly moved towards the kitchen.
Xia Fang sat on the sofa and sighed. She could not do anything about this Qiao Mei. If she scolded the girl, she would feel bad as well. There was really nothing she could do.
How could it be foolproof to let Qian’e kidnap Qiao Mei when the plan was to get rid of her babies? If anything should happen to the babies, it could easily affect Qiao Mei too. This was no joking matter.
Qiao Mei could not bear to see Xia Fang looking so dejected while sitting on the sofa. She knew that she had gone overboard in this matter, but if she did not do this, He Mei would continue to harm her.
The He family would feel uneasy as long as she was not eliminated. As long as she was safe and sound, He Mei would continue to harm her by using any means necessary. Qian’e was the one being made use of today, who would it be tomorrow?

Qiao Mei finished cooking and brought the food to the table. She quietly went to call Xia Fang.
“Aunt, we can eat now,” Qiao Mei said warily.

“Xiao He, come and eat too,” Xia Fang said.
The three of them finished their meal without a word.

Given that He Mei wanted to harm Qiao Mei no matter what, even without Qian’e, there would be someone else in the future. Qiao Mei and Xia He looked at each other and smiled. This meant that Xia Fang had agreed to their plan.
“What do you want me to do?” Xia Fang asked.
