Mo Rao nodded. “Did you get to borrow the kitchen?”
When Yu Ye heard this, he looked a little disappointed. “I didn’t manage to borrow it. The head chef of the restaurant said that Mr. Gu is treating us today and I’m considered a guest, so I don’t have to enter the kitchen.”
“That’s true. There’s ready-made food for you to eat, so why do you still want to cook personally?” When Mo Rao saw Yu Ye’s aggrieved expression, she asked with a smile.

As the two of them spoke, everyone had already walked to their seats and sat down.
Gu Ci and Yu Ye sat down beside Mo Rao. After looking at each other, they retracted their gazes.
Gu Ci looked at Yu Ye, who was still chatting with Mo Rao, and sneered inwardly.
At the other table, an observant girl saw the interaction between Mo Rao, Gu Ci, and Yu Ye, then she said to her friend strangely, “Don’t you think that Mr. Gu and Mr. Yu seem to be on bad terms?”
“How so? Aren’t they getting along quite well?”
“No, think about it carefully! Mr. Gu is treating us to a meal, but Mr. Yu wants to use the kitchen to cook for Sister Rao Rao. Isn’t that strange?”
As her friend stared at the dishes that kept being served, her attention was focused on the dishes. How could she possibly pay attention to these details?
“Aren’t you hungry? You still have time to think about this? These delicacies aren’t tempting enough to attract your attention?”
When the girl heard her friend’s words, she looked at Mo Rao, Gu Ci, and Yu Ye, then threw the matter to the back of her mind.
Anyone with a discerning eye could tell that Mr. Yu probably liked Mo Rao.
After the dishes were served, Director Zheng said a few ceremonial words. Seeing that everyone was already impatient, he could only scold them with a smile, then let them eat.
At the dining table, Gu Ci picked up a piece of chicken for Mo Rao with his chopsticks.
“Rao Rao, try this. This is one of the specialties of this restaurant.”
Mo Rao didn’t decline. “Alright, I’ll try it.”
The moment the chicken entered her mouth, Mo Rao’s eyes lit up. The skin was crispy and the taste was light yet delicious. The onion seasoning was rich and fragrant. Coupled with the special sauce, it made the chicken taste even more delicious.
“How does it taste?”
“It’s delicious,” Mo Rao marveled.
Yu Ye frowned slightly when he saw the familiarity and tacit understanding between the two of them.
From the looks of it, Gu Ci must have picked up food for Mo Rao quite often in private.
When he thought about this, Yu Ye tightened his grip on the chopsticks in his hand, and his gaze darkened.
When Gu Ci saw Yu Ye’s expression, he frowned slightly. Yu Ye was still too young, so he probably couldn’t withstand provocation.
After that, Gu Ci didn’t pick up any more food for Mo Rao, and Mo Rao didn’t notice the hostility between Yu Ye and Gu Ci, or rather, their wariness of each other.

Everyone chatted and laughed as they turned down the idea of an afterparty.
Director Zheng glanced at Gu Ci, who was still talking to Mo Rao, and said, “President Gu, we’re going back to the hotel now. Please send our female lead to the hotel later.”
As soon as Director Zheng finished speaking, some bold people present started to jeer.
Gu Ci didn’t decline. He said, “Don’t worry, Director Zheng. I will definitely bring Rao Rao back to the hotel safely.”
Director Zheng nodded and glanced at Gu Ci and Mo Rao before leaving with the production team.
Mo Rao had originally planned to go back with the production team, but between Director Zheng and Gu Ci, her subsequent activities were decided. She could only watch Director Zheng and the others leave.
