523 Big Shots Are Forgetful
Mo Rao looked around the venue in boredom. In the end, she walked to the dessert counter and took two of her favorite desserts before eating in the corner quietly.
She didn’t want to cause trouble and only wanted to wait for the banquet to end. However, someone was unwilling to let her off.
“Mo Rao, you’re a CEO and a celebrity. Isn’t it a little funny for you to hide in a corner to eat at the banquet?”
Mo Rao looked up impatiently and saw Shen Jia standing in front of her in a fitting evening gown. Shen Jia looked at her arrogantly, her eyes filled with mockery.
She placed the plate of snacks on the table at the side and stood up elegantly.
“Who stipulated that people can’t eat at the banquet?” Mo Rao said bluntly. Before Shen Jia could speak, she continued, “Since there’s food prepared at the banquet, it’s for the guests to eat. As for whether the guests are willing to eat it or not, that’s up to the guests.”
“Besides, what does eating have to do with my identity? Can’t celebrities and CEOs eat at banquets? I think you know how to eat as well, right? Otherwise, you would have died long ago.”
Shen Jia didn’t know how to refute. However, soon, Shen Jia revealed a mocking smile again and sneered. “No one is willing to pay attention to you, so you can only hide in a corner and eat, right?”
She clicked her tongue a few times, her eyes filled with mockery and pity.
“Poor thing.”
Despite facing Shen Jia’s mockery, there was no anger on Mo Rao’s face, as if the other party wasn’t talking about her.
“I don’t think a truly cultured person would do something like stealing, right?” Mo Rao asked coldly.
Shen Jia’s feigned expression of pity suddenly froze for a moment. Even the smile on her face disappeared.
“What do you mean?” she asked in a stern voice.
The corners of Mo Rao’s lips curled up. “Could it be that you really don’t know? President Shen, big shots are really forgetful!”
Mo Rao emphasized the words “President Shen”, and a sly look flashed across her eyes.
Shen Jia took a few steps back from Mo Rao and pretended to be calm as she said, “I really don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Then let me remind the forgetful President Shen,” Mo Rao said leisurely. “I remember that the proposal submitted by the Shen Corporation not long ago was Jiayi’s proposal, right?”
She suddenly looked at Shen Jia with interest. “President Shen, I wonder if you can…”
“What nonsense are you talking about?!” She suddenly interrupted Mo Rao with a stern voice. There was a hint of panic on her face, but she quickly calmed down. “I didn’t know about this at all! It was that employee himself who colluded with your company’s Wang Xiao to do this! What right do you have to slander me?”
Shen Jia’s last sentence was a little loud and immediately attracted the attention of the surrounding people.
Sensing all of this, Shen Jia bit her lip and quickly shut up.
Shen Jia walked closer to Mo Rao and threatened in her ear, “Mo Rao, there are some things you can’t say without evidence!”
Mo Rao turned slightly and looked at Shen Jia. Then, she lowered her voice and said, “Shen Jia, do you really think I don’t have evidence? Without evidence, how can I punish Wang Xiao?”
With that, she deliberately revealed a look of realization. “Or do you think I’ll be afraid of your threat?”
Seeing Mo Rao’s fearless look, Shen Jia clenched her fists.
“Mo Rao! What’s so great about you?! Didn’t you get your current status because of Fu Ying and Gu Ci? To be honest, I really don’t understand why Fu Ying and Gu Ci like you.”
She didn’t understand. She was clearly much better than Mo Rao, but Fu Ying only had Mo Rao in his eyes and had never paid attention to her.
Since she couldn’t start with Fu Ying, she would get rid of Mo Rao first!
At the thought of this, a trace of viciousness flashed across Shen Jia’s eyes.
