Shen Yan seemed to have thought of something. She then stared at Chen Nian and questioned, “I knew it. Why would you want to go to an ancient town all of a sudden? You just wanted an autograph from Jiang Ze!”
Chen Nian curled her lips and responded, “That’s right, but it’s such a pity that I’m on my period. I’m done with this town. Why is there only a cable car that is coming down and not up? If not, I could climb up the mountain too. That way, I could personally get Jiang Ze’s signature!”
“What’s in for me?” Shen Yan asked indifferently.
“Yanyan, my dear friend. How about I treat you to a meal later?” Chen Nian said coquettishly.
Hearing her words, Shen Yan nodded. “Okay, then it’s settled! You owe me a meal!” Shen Yan then packed up briefly and went out alone with her luggage. The mountain was actually not high. Thus, it would only take an hour and a half to reach the peak. Shen Yan treated this activity as exercise.
She climbed the hill for an hour, and it started snowing. Thus, the safest option now was to climb up the mountain and take the cable car down from there.
After Shen Yan climbed up the hill, she received Jiang Ze’s signature. Just as she was about to take the cable car down, she was turned down by the staff.
“Why?” Shen Yan looked at the staff in confusion.
“Miss, I’m sorry for causing trouble on your journey. I really seek your understanding. It’s snowing heavily now. Thus, if you take the cable car down the mountain, it would be very dangerous for you. But don’t worry, we have made all the necessary preparations for you. After all, we have a lounge here. You can go inside and rest first. When the weather gets better, we will send you down the mountain,” the staff explained with a smile.
Shen Yan felt that her reasoning was logical, and she asked in puzzlement, “Why don’t this scenic spot let the cable car bring people up the mountain?”
Hearing Shen Yan’s words, the staff laughed and explained patiently, “The main reason is that our mountain isn’t high. If the cable car brings the tourists up the mountain, they will miss out on the pleasure of appreciating the surrounding scenery.”
Shen Yan felt the same way. She saw many plum blossoms along the way. They were indeed much better looking than the ones she kept at home.
However, the snow was getting heavier and heavier. It had already turned into a snowstorm.
Shen Yan sat in the resting lounge and looked at the sky with a worried expression. At this rate, the snowstorm would not stop for more than three to five days.
Under the arrangement of the staff member, Shen Yan rested in the guest room at the top of the mountain for two days. She realized that the staff members all appeared worried after two days.
