Shen Yan took out the dishes and pretended to look at her phone. It seemed that Lu Yan had prepared beforehand for this hotpot. Lu Yan placed an induction cooker on the table and then put the pot on top of it.
He put some vegetables into the pot first, and he added a few slices of beef in to cook them. Afterward, he scooped them out and put them into Shen Yan’s bowl. “I made this homemade hotpot myself, so I don’t know if it suits your appetite.”
Shen Yan smiled at him and replied, “It’s very delicious.”
At this moment, the parrot on the balcony cried out again.
“Lu Yan likes Shen Yan! Lu Yan likes Shen Yan!”
“Then do you like it?” Lu Yan stared at her.
Shen Yan naturally understood Lu Yan’s pun.
She raised her eyes and accidentally met Lu Yan’s affectionate eyes. Shen Yan lowered her eyes quicklyand said, “Eat it quickly. The meat won’t taste good after being cooked for a long time!”
Lu Yan sat opposite her. He picked up a piece of meat and put it into his bowl. He stirred it for a while before putting it into his mouth. Lu Yan then slowly chewed before swallowing it.
His gaze kept falling on Shen Yan’s face. He seemed to have thought of something and asked, “Do you want to drink?”
Shen Yan raised her eyes to look at Lu Yan. When she met his smiling eyes, somehow, she felt a chill down her spine.
This subconscious fear made her feel a little uneasy. Shen Yan seemed to have seen this pair of eyes before, and she could not recall it at this moment.
“I don’t drink.” Shen Yan suppressed the uneasiness in her heart.
“Hotpot with beer. That’s the best combination! Then, I’ve to drink myself.” The smile on Lu Yan’s face was as gentle as ever.
Shen Yan looked into his eyes. She was completely sure that the smile in Lu Yan’s eyes just now was completely different from his current expression.
