Gu Jiangxin was ecstatic. “You are Ink Painting Guru?”
Of course not.
Gao Xiu-e shook her head inside the room but continued to recite what Gu Shishi had written down for her. “I am only going to paint one right here, right now. You can take it or leave it.
“And I am asking for 30 million yuan for it.”
Gu Jiangxin frowned a little but quickly came to terms with it.
30 million yuan was not an unreasonable price in an auction. It was a bit high for a normal purchase.
But he had spent so much time trying to get his hand on her work and had wasted so much time and even came to beg for a painting shamelessly and, finally… He would be able to have one!
All of a sudden, he didn’t feel that 30 million yuan was a lot to ask! Quite the contrary, he felt that he was lucky!
“Alright, I like your attitude, Master! You are awesome! I’ll be back in 2 hours!”
Everybody looked at him oddly when he bowed a little in the direction of the back room respectfully.
They could all tell that Gao Xiu-e was the one who spoke.
The elderlies couldn’t help but piled into the back room after he was gone.
“What is going on, Lao Gao?”
“Little Shishi, I can send him away for you. Why would you want to paint anything for that man?” said President Huang Chuan.
“Yeah, draw him a fart is more likely!”
“Yeah, even if President Huang couldn’t send him away. I, Lao Lui, would be there to back him up! You have nothing to worry about!”
“We can have our gatherings at my place going forward! Aye. Now that I know that this place has ties to someone like him, I don’t even want to step foot here ever again!”
Everybody felt annoyed for Gu Shishi.
Gu Shishi, sitting on the chair, felt both appreciative and touched.
“Don’t worry, fellow elders. I have made a decision. I will paint him a painting and I will wrap up our relationship.”
She wasn’t going to pay Gu Jiangxin any attention initially. In fact, she was already half way through typing to the boss when she heard the threatening tone in Gu Jiangxin’s when he talked about this mansion. She deleted what she had typed.
Okay, if he wanted it so badly. She would give him a “good one”!
“Just wait. Let me show you.”
Gu Shishi smiled, stood up, and walked over to the painting table.
Paper, ink, paintbrush, and inkstone were all readily available at the association.
As much as they all felt for her but, seeing that she had other idea in mind, they all forced themselves to wait patiently as they watched.
Gu Shishi dipped her paintbrush into the ink and immediately started on the mountains and rivers that she was very familiar with.
“Eh… Little Shishi, your mountain looks a little off…”
It didn’t take long for someone to comment in surprise.
Gu Shishi smiled. Her brush went from the mountain to the river after a few strokes.
A small bridge, a babbling broke, and a few houses.
Her brushstroke was very smooth. That made the elderlies crowding around her quickly forgot about the incident just a little while earlier, about Gu Jiangxin, and also about the oddness they had noticed with the mountain that she started out with.
Next to the creek, Gu Shishi quickly added poised-looking man in a yellow robe. The man had a book in his left hand and a water bucket in his right. Water dripped down from his sleeve and dripped onto the ground, darkening the color of soil.
After a few more strokes, she added a delicate looking structure next to a little bamboo path.
Inside one of the rooms in the structure, a woman with her hair tied up into a bun and a bright red hibiscus on hair was placing a sticker in the middle of her forehead.
She had painted many court ladies for Huajian and had trashed many of her practice work.
Painting characters now came very easy to her!
All of her audiences were amazed by the speed of her creation and the details on her characters.
The longer they watched, the odder their looks.
