Chapter 829 Feelings
The King had been feeling a bit distressed and would like to go into the room, but hearing that the Empress Dowager was asking for him, he was reminded that the Empress Dowager and Honored Princess Jing were going back to the court. Thinking that he still had something to tell them, he nodded.

The King sat down directly as he came to the Empress Dowager. Therefore, he did not show any of his concern. He could not just give the Empress Dowager the full blame, but he could not simply pretend as if nothing had happened either.
The Empress Dowager must have guessed what the King was thinking, but she gave no reaction to the way the King behaved.
She said, “You have seen how the Queen is, and she is not in the right state to move back to the court. However, you are the King and you still have the whole world to take care of. You have seen her and taken care of her, and that is enough. There has never been any King in history who has ever done this much for a Queen, so you should get ready and move back to the court.”
The King shook his head. The original plan was that he would go back to court today, but Jiang Shuang was obviously not in the right mood to face him, and he had noticed that the moment he saw her. He could not return to the court right now whilst giving up the efforts he had made.

“Mother, you can go back to the court with Honored Princess Jing. I intend to stay some more days here. Now that the princes and ambassadors are all back home, and peace is everywhere, I don’t have to be in charge of anything important. Lord Ling has done a lot of things these days, and he will be able to handle everything that happens. Just tell him to come to me, and I will tell him something so that he can supervise the country for some time,” the King said carefully.
The heir was not yet decided, so he should give it a deep thought.
Ling had always been his ideal candidate, so he would like him to have a try, so that he could know what Ling was like when it came to national affairs. In this way, he would have a clearer idea about the heir.
At this moment, both the Empress Dowager and Honored Princess Jing were startled.

“Then Honored Princess Jing and I shall return to the court directly, and I will inform Lord Ling as soon as possible,” the Empress Dowager said with a serious look on her face.
