If what Ruxue had done at the study had not been seen by Lord Ling, then Mrs. Gu would not have gotten so anxious – even if Ruxue turned out not to be the Phoenix Girl, Lord Ling would at least not dislike her. At least, Ruxue could stay safe and sound at the Lord Ling’s Mansion as the Equal Princess Consort. However, Lord Ling saw what happened at the study the other day. And the only reason why Lord Ling tolerated the whole thing was because Ruxue was supposed to be the Phoenix Girl.
If she turned out to be someone else, then Mrs. Gu could definitely predict what would happen to them.
She just could not lose. She just could not let her daughter lose her identity as the Phoenix Girl!
Mrs. Gu pulled over Gu Ruxue’s hand and asked, “Nothing happened on that day?”
Gu Ruxue shook her head, looking confused. She just could not fathom out the reason.
Mrs. Gu looked serious and went through the possibility.
“Who else was there the other day?” Mrs. Gu asked.
“Gu Chaoyan the bitch and Gu Xiuying. But nothing happened to them! The strangeness occurred only when I got injured, otherwise Lord would not have been so certain that I was the Phoenix Girl! I am very certain that I am the Phoenix Girl, not Gu Chaoyan, not Gu Xiuying!” Gu Ruxue said with determination.
Yes, it must be her. It could not be someone else.
“Mom, what matters most of all is how to make my blood work!” Gu Ruxue reminded her. She just could not fathom any idea, so she was asking her mom for help.
Mrs. Gu shook her head slightly.
Gu Ruxue might be determined and confident, but she was not that positive at all.
She had to make a full plan without any loopholes. Only when all the possibilities were taken into consideration would they be able to deal with all potential changes.
Ruxue said that Gu Chaoyan and Gu Xiuying were on the site the other day too.
Although neither of them was experiencing anything strange, it could be possible that either of them was the Phoenix Girl.
But it was very easy to prove the whole thing.
They could simply be asked to test their blood.
If nothing happened then there was no need for them to be worried.
If something happened with either of them, then it was alright too. She could just get their blood and make use of it. Anything could become Ruxue’s, so she could stay as the Phoenix Girl.
As Mrs. Gu thought about this, she was no longer feeling as anxious as before. Instead, she was showing a slight smile of confidence.
Seeing Mrs. Gu’s smile, Gu Ruxue thought that her mother had just come up with an idea.
She asked cheerfully, “Mom, have you come up with anything?”
Mrs. Gu looked at Gu Ruxue and saw that she had lost a lot of weight because of what she was worried about. She felt very concerned about her daughter who had grown up and married someone. She must not let her stay by her side. Lord Ling was a very nice suitor, so she had to make sure her daughter stayed by Lord Ling all the time for the luxurious life she deserved.
So she did not have to think about anything else. What she needed was to help Ruxue.
She caressed Gu Ruxue’s face. “Ruxue, don’t worry about any of this. Since Lord Ling has married you and taken you as the Phoenix Girl, it must have been an accident that no strangeness happened the other day.”

“Don’t worry, I will think of something so no accident would occur again.”
