Yan Su felt a little speechless.
‘Is it really okay for you to say that about Mr. Nian?’ She thought.
At that moment, Luosang’s phone started ringing. She spent a short while staring at the phone screen, then answered the call with a warm voice, “Darling, I just left class. I’m going to the canteen for lunch with Su… No, of course not. The food served in our canteen is delicious. I haven’t been here for a while. I missed the food here… Don’t worry, I won’t eat outside. Ever since we got together, you taught me that the food out there isn’t safe every single day… You’re coming here to see me? I don’t think that’s necessary… Sure, sure, I’ll take a picture of our lunch for you later when we get to the canteen.”
After ending the call, Luosang sighed, “He called to check on me every time I left home. Do you now know how miserable my life is? I’m telling you, do not get married at a young age. I buried myself in the grave of marriage at such a beautiful age, and I got pregnant.”
“Well…” Yan Su didn’t even know what to say. She put an arm around Luosang’s shoulders and comforted her, “It’s alright. I know sometimes Mr. Nian tries to control your life even harder than your mom ever did, but that’s because he cares for you, right?”
“Let’s go to the canteen to take a picture for him, and then have that roast fish,” said Luosang.
“Um… If Mr. Nian happens to find out that we had roast fish together, would he kill me?” Yan Su was a little worried.
“If you don’t tell and I don’t tell, who’d ever know?” Luosang dragged her toward the canteen.
When they were waiting in a line for the food, many people came to say hi to them. Luosang bought a lunch box, then quickly took a picture of it and sent it to Nian Junting—’Darling, the lunch is pretty rich today. We have pork and fish.’
Nian Junting replied with a frown emoji—’It looks awful. I bet it tastes awful too.’
Luosang did not want to continue that conversation.
She put away that lunch box and quickly walked out of the canteen with Yan Su, then saw Mo Liuxi coming toward them.
Before Yan Su could say anything, Luosang waved at Mo Liuxi already.
Mo Liuxi blinked, then walked up to the two of them. His eyes quickly scanned across Yan Su, then landed on Luosang’s face.
“Why are you here? Why didn’t you tell me?” He asked.
“A famous host is giving a lecture in our department today. I think it’s important. I spent a long time to convince Nian Junting to let me come here,” Luosang felt a little guilty. She wanted to invite him for lunch too, but he always seemed to have issues with Yan Su.
Mo Liuxi frowned and said, “I am disappointed. I am your brother who was parted with you for twenty years, yet you went to Yan Su instead of me when you came to school. Is she more important to you than I am?”
Luosang gave a start. She wasn’t expecting to hear that from her brother. It sounded like she had hurt his feelings so badly.
“It’s not like that. We’ve seen each other last week, right? I haven’t seen Yan Su since the wedding. Besides, you’re my brother, so we’ll always have chances to see each other,” Luosang hurriedly explained, “Why don’t you have lunch together with us? How do feel about roast fish?”
“Sure,” Mo Liuxi nodded, upturned his mouth corners.
Luosang sighed with relief. What she didn’t want the most was for her brother to be unhappy.
Yan Su silently dropped her head.
‘What a liar!’ She thought. She would not believe that he was sad because Luosang didn’t tell him about her coming to school.
The roast fish restaurant was about eight minutes of walking away from the school. The three of them headed toward that place by foot. On their way, Mo Liuxi suddenly fixed his eyes on a milk tea place and said, “Do you girls want some milk tea?”
Luosang was touched, because her brother never made such warm suggestions.
