So it was him.
But why didn’t he tell her?
An’an balled her hands into two fists by her sides, digging her fingernails deep into her palms and yet, she didn’t even feel an ounce of pain. Three years ago, just how much did he have to go through?
When she was sick and hospitalized for her leukemia, the Blood Forces had been exposed because of the female spy sent by Delia. Li Si was caught and everyone had fallen into a crisis.
Being the commander of the Blood Forces, on one hand was his nation while the other was her, how was he going to balance them both?
No matter how hard it was, he had succeeded. He had protected his nation and protected her too, but the price he had to pay was his right leg.
His nation was his responsibility while she was the woman he loved. He couldn’t choose one out of the two so he had to sacrifice himself. Back then, he had arranged everything flawlessly, feigning his death, making a fake marriage certificate. He used that to make her hate him and forget about him.
She never wanted to become his burden, but hadn’t expected herself to become his burden after all.
She finally understood it all, understood why he was so hesitant and deliberated so much regarding their relationship. That was because… he had never once considered the possibility of them living a happy life together.
Lu Yan.
Her Lu Yan.
An underling walked over. “Master Delia, bad news. We’ve been discovered, someone is here.”
Someone had come.
It was Lu Yan.
Delia laughed out loud. “Blood Eagle really managed to rush over in such a short amount of time, he really didn’t disappoint me!”
An’an’s heart melted and her gaze turned gentle. Though she hadn’t seen him yet, she could already feel his breathing, his strong, calming presence.
“An’an, leave with me. It’s already said that men could never resist the charms of a beautiful woman, the same goes for Blood Eagle. Now I have to take the woman Blood Eagle loves with me.”
“You really think that you can escape from this place? You’re surrounded by the FIU, you can never escape.”
Delia raised his hand, flexing the gold ring around his finger. “An’an, you’ve already discovered my stamp. I have to say you’re indeed intelligent, but you’re too naive. I have a secret passage for every place that I exit. Just a while ago, I used my stamp to open up the secret passage. I’m going to be taking you away via sea, we’re going to be taking a motorboat to leave this place.”
An’an’s gaze changed, she tried to move but in the next moment, she felt her entire body becoming weak. It was as though all of her energy had been taken away, she felt weak all over.
“You drugged me?”
“An’an, if I didn’t drug you, you would never be good. Don’t worry, I only used a small dosage.”
Delia walked over, stretching his hand out to caress An’an’s face. “I haven’t tasted you yet, how could I bear to hurt you?”
An’an turned her face. “Get lost!”
“Haha, the more fierce you are, the more I like you!”
…
Boom! Lu Yan kicked the door open.
The room was empty, there wasn’t a single person inside.
“It seems like Delia has already brought Gu An’an with him,” Qianqian said.
Jiang Guo turned around to look at Lin Shun. “Sir, Delia is extremely crafty, if we really let him slip today, it’d be hard for us to catch him next time. Moreover, An’an has been taken away by him and she’s in danger anytime. I’d suggest sealing all of the exits to track Delia’s whereabouts.”
Lin Shun nodded in consent. “Okay.”
Qianqian looked at the man in front, his imposing figure blocked all of the light. He hadn’t said a word at all. But he had been able to find Delia’s hiding spot so quickly, he truly was the pillar of the armed forces.
“So what if we find An’an now? With Delia’s personality, An’an must have been raped by him already,” Qianqian said.
Once Jiang Guo heard that, he instantly furrowed his brows.
The people gathering in front were all of high position, Tian Tian hadn’t managed to squeeze in front but she heard the words that Qianqian said. She wasn’t fond of Qianqian to begin with and now that Qianqian even dared to badmouth An’an, Tian Tian instantly spoke up. “Miss Qianqian, how could you even say that? Do you have some bad blood with An’an? Did An’an snatch your boyfriend?”
“You!” Qianqian was angered, her entire face flushed red.
Qianqian could feel someone glaring at her, she looked with the corner of her eye and noticed it was Lu Yan. He was glaring at her with those deep-set eyes, she could feel it even when he wore a cap.
He didn’t have to say a word, just that one gaze was terrifying enough.
Qianqian instantly shut up, but she was still feeling indignant inside.
“Delia is really crafty, even more so than his predecessor, Henry. We haven’t managed to get hold of his stamp this time, he must have made use of it to escape. The possibility of us finding him is really slim. Once he leaves Mexico, he’ll cause even more trouble.” Jiang Guo looked at Lu Yan.
Jiang Guo had recognized Lu Yan at first glance, it was the mysterious man who saved An’an the other time. This man had an identity that wasn’t simple, he could tell that the General’s daughter, Qianqian really fancied him, almost counting as an obsession even.
Though Lin Shun was the commander of the operation, everyone could tell that it was this man doing all the work and making all the decisions.
Just who was he?
Lu Yan’s facial features were hidden in the darkness. He was just like a night crawler, exuding a calm and collected aura.
He scanned around the place, his gaze landing on a corner. He had noticed Xue Niang.
He quickly walked over, arriving beside Xue Niang.
Xue Niang’s eyes were shut and though she had blood all over her body, she was fully clothed and her face was clean. She even had a smile on her face, she hadn’t suffered before she passed away. It was a peaceful death for her.
Lu Yan slowly went down on one knee, closing his eyes while observing a moment of silence.
Xue Niang.
He held Xue Niang’s hand.
He suddenly froze, with a quick shifting of eyes, he noticed a small strip of fabric in Xue Niang’s hand.
Opening the roll of fabric, it was a picture drawn with blood.
The fabric was part of An’an’s dress, it was a picture of Delia’s stamp. An’an had drawn it using the blood from her finger.
Delia’s stamp, An’an had left it behind!
Lu Yan’s muscles bulged. He clenched the fabric tightly in his hands, the corners of his lips kicked up.
This silly girl, she had finally grown up.
Wait for me.
…
At night, An’an had been brought to a pier by Delia. There were a few motorboats parked there.
“Master Delia, we must leave immediately,” one of the underlings spoke up.
Delia grasped An’an tightly. “An’an, let’s leave.”
But the motorboats were revved up and sped away.
What the hell was going on?
Delia’s heart sank, an ominous feeling growing inside.
“Master Delia, bad news. Your stamp appeared somewhere else, now all the secret passages have been busted. Even our main nest had been discovered and those special agents have sealed them now. We have nowhere to go now.”
What?!
Delia instantly looked at An’an and questioned, “You did it?”
An’an only smiled. “You are dumb.”
Bam! Delia lifted his arm to give An’an a hard slap across the face.
