Gu Mohan stood along the corridor, he had one hand in his trouser pocket and the other held a cigarette, he was frowning as he smoked.
His distinct facial features could be seen vaguely through the smoky haze.
Tang Mo’er walked forward, she had to pass by him in order to leave the place. He had done it on purpose, wanting to block her so she couldn’t leave without facing him.
She didn’t look at him as she directly walking past him.
But her narrow wrist was grabbed by a strong hand and she heard his deep laughter ring in her ears. “Mo’er, you’re pretending to be a stranger now, hm?”
“President Gu, let go!” She sneered.
Gu Mohan held her face up with the same hand he used to hold the cigarette with, his deep eyes scanning her tiny face before he smirked. “I was lying unconsciously in the hospital and you’re out on a blind date. Now that you’ve been caught red-handed, you’re even daring enough to ignore me. Tang Mo’er, you’re truly getting more daring.”
His cigarette was near her face and Tang Mo’er frowned and snapped, “Get away from me, you reek of cigarettes.”
“The smell of cigarettes is stifling?”
Gu Mohan asked, moving his arm down and away from her narrow waist before stubbing the cigarette out and throwing it in the bin.
He held her in his arms and pushed her against the wall, surrounding her with his strong chest as he pulled her close. His two slender fingers were on her tiny jaw and he rubbed his rough fingertips against her smooth skin. “You can explain yourself properly now, why did you meet up with Jun Chulin?”
Tang Mo’er lifted her head and looked directly at his handsome face. “Gu Mohan, we’ve broken up. You are Lu Qi’er’s fiancé now, I am free to do whatever I want, so why should I have to explain myself to you? Every person I’m going to meet and even if I date, is none of your business.”
“Date?” Gu Mohan gritted his teeth while repeating the word, mulling on it like a dirty word. Sticking out his tongue, he licked his dry lips. Since being discharged, he hadn’t had even a single drop of water and though he was smiling, his eyes were giving off a bone-chilling gaze. “So it turns out that you’re planning to date Jun Chulin. Tang Mo’er, when did you become so disillusioned to think that you could dump me?”
Tang Mo’er didn’t mean to end up on a date with Jun Chulin, but with Gu Mohan’s wrongful interpretation of her words, there was no point explaining. “Gu Mohan, what do you want. You’re joking if you still think that I’ll follow you and be your lovー”
“Tang Mo’er, stop the f*cking bullshit!” Gu Mohan held her down, his eyes filled with darkness as he poked the area above her heart. “You clearly know the reason behind my engagement with Lu Qi’er. Although it wasn’t the best method, I was left with no choice. My love for you has never changed, but in contrast, you’re wanting to kick me to the gutter after all we’ve been through. I’ve been unconscious in the hospital for 24 hours and even now, I can’t stop worrying about you, afraid that you’ll call for me when the poison acts up. But now that I’ve woken up and come to find you, you’re showing me this? Tang Mo’er, you’re truly ruthless towards me!”
He poked her with a great force, and Tang Mo’er felt that the pain was almost going to consume her. The tears threatened to spill out of her reddening eyes and she forced them back. “Gu Mohan, you still don’t know what I truly yearn for. I don’t need your salvation!”
She pushed him away with force.
Looking at her indifference, Gu Mohan was angered as he felt a fire seethe inside. From the corner of his eye, he could see a figure walking towards them. It was Jun Chulin.
Bending down, he captured Tang Mo’er’s supple red lips.
He hated the feeling of having a fever, he hated the helplessness that accompanied him. He hated being so weak. He last had a fever when he was young and although this time round, his fever had subsided, the horrible feeling that engulfed him was back again to haunt him.
Tang Mo’er’s lips were soft and moist. Once he started kissing her, he didn’t want to let them go. It was as if he had found an oasis in the middle of a desert, the sweetness had him addicted and trapped in those cherry red lips.
