He kissed her silky hair with his lips and murmured in a deep voice, “Everything is fine now, Mo’er, be good. Don’t worry anymore, I’m here now.” Although he seemed to be consoling her, he was actually trying to comfort himself.
Gu Mohan got up and carried her onto the bed.
Huo Beichen had left the room and returned with a first aid kit. Gu Mohan opened the box and he searched through it frantically, eventually finding what he wanted and dressing her wound.
During that time, Tang Mo’er finally managed to open her eyes slightly. With much difficulty, she could see the man beside her bed, under the faint yellow lighting, and she instantly burst into tears.
Gu Mohan lifted his eyes and saw her crying, the warm tears were falling from the corner of her eyes. She was crying quietly again, without making any sound.
He felt as though a sharp knife had pierced his heart and it was twisting around, causing him immense pain. Stretching out his large hands, Gu Mohan tucked her silky hair behind her ears and held onto her face forcing her to look at him. “What happened, Mo’er, tell me, why are you crying? Does it hurt?”
Tang Mo’er was initially crying quietly, but after hearing his comforting consolation, she couldn’t hold it in anymore and her weak shoulders started to tremble, and she couldn’t stop the sobs from bursting out from her lips.
Gu Mohan didn’t know how to react, or how to comfort her. This woman always made him come undone.
For the past 30 years of his life, he had attended countless international meetings and stood in front of the most prestigious forums to present to a distinguished audience. In his entire life, it had been smooth sailing and one where everything was within his control.
But now, he was panicking, with no idea what to do. Tang Mo’er was his weakness and his heart was breaking.
“Be good, Mo’er. Don’t cry. I’m sorry, it’s all my fault.”
Gu Mohan kissed away the tears on her face and subsequently moved to kiss her tiny mouth.
He would never tire of kissing her.
Huo Beichen was far away from them, he stood beside the room door and saw Gu Mohan’s tall build kissing Tang Mo’er. Her tiny pink tongue was in his mouth, and he sucked on her tongue as though he was tasting the world’s most delicious dessert.
It was a sign of infatuation.
Huo Beichen’s pupils darkened as he thought to himself, no one would be able to come between Gu Mohan and Tang Mo’er.
It was a world that belonged to the two of them with no room for anyone else.
He walked out of the room and left them alone.
…
Gu Mohan kissed Tang Mo’er and felt his tongue sting, Tang Mo’er had bitten him with her white teeth.
Although she used an insignificant strength to bite him, it displayed her resistance against him and her unwillingness.
Gu Mohan froze, as he slowly moved away from her lips and supported himself beside her body with his arm. Looking at her paper white face, he murmured, “Mo’er, did the love pea poison act up? I’m sorry I’m late. Hurry and take this pill.”
Tang Mo’er’s entire body was still hurting, it had never stopped. However, once the pain became hard to endure, her mind became confused and her emotions would shut down.
However, her intelligence didn’t disappear.
Looking at the red pill in his palm, there was only half of it and she asked in a soft and husky voice, “What is this?”
“This is the antidote to your poison. Due to some circumstances, there’s only half, but it’ll reduce the potency of the poison in your system. The other half will be manufactured soon.” Gu Mohan placed the pill right in front of her mouth.
Tang Mo’er’s clear eyes were still glistening after all the tears had fallen. Stretching out her tiny hand to hold the pill, her voice was soft. “Pour me a glass of water.”
“Alright.”
Gu Mohan got up and walked towards the nightstand to get her some water.
When he returned, she had already gotten up from the bed and in her white dress, she was standing on the balcony listlessly.
