“Fire the signal,” Han Jin slowly said.
Sunnier pulled her longbow upwards, and an arrow dashed towards the sky. It was followed by a huge explosion with sparks flying everywhere.
The gargoyles’ attack was only able to damage one-tenth of the vampires’ forces, and Kale’s force damaged another tenth of their troops. The remaining vampires accounted up to about seven or eight hundred of them. The gloomy, aggressive vampires that were rushing up the mountain didn’t scare them at all. This was not only because they had Guevara and Majordomo Gail who were two major superiors along with Yalina who was able to spontaneously release powerful magic skills, but also because of Han Jin.
Winston and the rest of the troops looked over at Han Jin from time to time. They had heard lots of stories about Han Jin’s enormous magic matrix from Moxinke. Although the battle did not allow them much time to prepare, they still believed in Han Jin’s ability. Regarding the battle between Betty and Caroline, Guevara had already given them a reasonable explanation: as both of them were tenth-grade superiors, and along with their extraordinary natural instincts, it wasn’t surprising that they had the battle skills of a superior-grade.
“Let’s go…” Han Jin softly spit out these words and jumped down the mountain.
Previously, Han Jin would have used Earthmeld to suddenly appear among the vampires’ troops, but as of now, he refused to do anything that would waste any of his vital energy. As the saying went, the right things should be put in the right place. The Art of Spiritual Possession was undoubtedly the most conservative, and along with the Charm of Refreshment Spirit, he was able to transform himself into a tireless combat machine.
Within a short amount of time, Han Jin had already dashed toward Tim who was at the forefront of his troops. Without wasting any effort on chit-chat, Han Jin immediately raised the Dragon Spear and smashed it against Tim’s direction. Perhaps it was due to the increase in his vital energy, but it became uncomfortable to use his full energy. This was because he had started feeling a resistance that he had never experienced before. For example, the stagnation of resistance from the air made it impossible to move smoothly. With his current ability, he could clearly see that the extremely tenacious Dragon Spear had turned into a piece of unshaped metal.
I could be faster! Why can’t I be faster?! The discomfort was making Han Jin furious.
Tim wanted to use his body as a shield to block Han Jin’s attack and have a close combat fight. However, as Han Jin got closer to him, he felt a threat and instantly moved backward.
The blade of the spear slashed the air about half a foot in front of Tim, and the cold air that moved along with the spear immediately split Tim’s messy hair in half. Following that, he heard a screech that trembled his eardrum.
The spear landed on the ground with a huge blast, and about half of it buried deep into the ground. Han Jin twisted his wrist, effortlessly pulled out the spear and swung it across Tim’s neck.
Tim bent down to dodge the spear and jumped backward. He had been shocked by the attack, and stretching the distance between them allowed him to clear his mind.
Tim had withdrawn, but the two other vampires that tried to fight Han Jin weren’t as lucky. One of them had jumped upwards, and immediately been cut into two halves by Han Jin’s spear. The other one who had his claws outstretched ended up with an even worse fate. His head was no longer on his neck, and both his arms were also detached from his body.
On the other side of the battlefield, they had also joined the battle. Winston was always a calm and mild-tempered person, but his fighting style was the opposite. His swordsmanship was fierce and cunning, which was entirely different from Cessacioun who was fighting next to him. Although both of them were using the Dragon Flame Fighting Technique, Cessacioun’s style was mostly cleaving while Winston’s style was mainly stabbing. The stabbing movements of his sword were as fast as a fierce and poisonous scorpion.
Gibran, Reg, and Paul from the Reapers Mercenary Team had similar styles. As all three of them were thieves, they would use their speed to immerse themselves among the enemy’s troops. Once they were completely surrounded, they would escape with their art of invincibility and appear somewhere else.
Julia and Sunier stayed at the top of the mountain while sniping the vampires who were at the forefront. Sunier was using Edwina’s relic – a longbow that was made out of dragon tendon! Sunier didn’t have much time to learn about the Ripping Wind Arrow and was still unable to completely control it. However, it was a product of Yalina’s, and with its powerful amplification effect, she had already surpassed Julia. Julia, on the other hand, was an expert with Treant Arrow. She felt that it was a waste to use Treant Arrows on normal vampires and had replaced them with normal magic arrows.
Yet, Moxinke was the most courageous person on the battlefield. He was travelling at an extremely fast speed while staying next to Han Jin. His giant sword was swinging around like a windmill, and there was no way of stopping him; Moxinke was in an extreme state of rage and unrestraint.
Han Jin had already ‘granted’ him a second chance. Moxinke had the Dragon Leather Armor and could even escape critical situations with the ‘so-called’ Earthmeld magic scroll. With all this together, he would feel sorry for himself if he didn’t give it his all during the fight.
However, Moxinke also knew that no matter what opponent he faced, he could only kill them with one strike. If they weren’t killed with one strike, he would leave it to the rest of them behind him. Since there were so many enemies in front of them, it wasn’t a problem looking for someone to kill.
Amongst them, Alexandre was the most subtle. This was his first battle alongside Han Jin. Usually, as a newcomer, he should try his best to show his new ‘boss’ his abilities, but Alexandre didn’t like the limelight. Instead, from the start of the fight till now, he just kept his eyes on Han Jin. He didn’t attack anyone and didn’t even release his fighting spirit. He only swung his spear to get rid of the vampires who had the audacity to attack him.
In comparison to Moxinke, Han Jin was a more stubborn person. Tim had escaped from his attack, but he continued to chase after him. The blades of the Dragon Spear were swinging everywhere around Tim. The vampires around who tried to help were either thrown to a distance far away or severed into pieces. Han Jin was able to improve his strength, speed, and reaction speed with the Art of Spiritual Fight. Since Tim was unable to compete with Han Jin in terms of strength and speed, all of his techniques had gone to waste. In fact, if both of them were to have a close combat with the same amount of strength and speed, Han Jin would have lost to Tim. But of course, Han Jin wasn’t solely dependent on the Art of Spiritual Fight, as he also had various skills of the Daoist Art.
On top of the mountain, Guevara’s facial expressions kept changing. It wasn’t because of Han Jin’s improvement, but because he was distressed with how Han Jin was using his spear! The spear should be mainly used to stab instead of being swung around like an axe. If Han Jin wanted something to swing around, he should have picked a metal hammer instead! This was ridiculous!
Tim panicked as his feet moved backward. He had never imagined that a human could travel at such a fast speed! As the spear started swinging around him, he could hear it splitting the cold current around him. If it wasn’t because Han Jin’s position was too obvious and that he could predict the angle and direction of his opponent, he would have been killed on the spot!
“Why are you following me?!” Han Jin abruptly stopped and turned around. “Catch!” Han Jin screamed while throwing the Dragon Spear to Alexandre.
This was his chance! Tim was delighted, but due to the high pressure that he had from before, he didn’t immediately counterattack. Instead, he hesitated for a moment.
Instead of Tim, another vampire roared in rage as he dashed towards Han Jin.
Han Jin opened his mouth wide and a green-ray shot out. It immediately pierced the vampire and left a huge bloody hole on the vampire’s face. To be precise, the vampire’s entire face was gone; even the long fangs turned into ash. The head which was previously there turned into a hollow bloody ring with thick fluids dripping down from the edge of the ring, causing a disgusting and terrifying scene.
Tim let out a trembling scream after seeing the vampire’s condition. He didn’t expect his opponent to have hidden his true potential. He thought that Han Jin had been using his full effort before this, but he was wrong; the trick that he had just pulled was his actual potential. He had already been in a devastating state before this, and now it was impossible to resist such strength.
As Han Jin cited a spell, another green ray was shot in his direction. Tim quickly moved to the side to escape it, but the ray took a turn and caught up to him. Tim tried his best to dodge it a few times, but the green-ray continued to follow him. The faster the speed at which he tried to dodge, the faster the ray would come toward him. As he saw the ray come close about two meters away from his face, he grabbed his men in desperation and used them as a shield. As he felt the ray entering their bodies, he would throw them straight into the air, but as soon as that happened, the ray would be shot at him again.
“Kill him!!” Tim screamed. At this moment, there were no words left for him to describe his fear.
For the vampires, Tim’s command was the law and they had to obey, no matter what the situation was. As his voice died down, all the vampires around started dashing toward Han Jin’s direction.
Han Jin reached out his hand, and there were suddenly four red daggers in between his fingers. As soon as the daggers left his fingers, it pierced through the four heads of the vampires closest to him. Then, Han Jin’s right hand continuously patted the air, shooting white rays upwards one after the other, forming a lightning storm. After listening to Guevara’s warning, Han Jin had already prepared a large amount of Pure Light Cursed Charms. Since he already knew his opponent’s strength, there was no point in holding back.
Under the cover of the lightning storm, most of the vampires couldn’t help but cover their eyes before letting out a series of horrifying screams. They were already in a disastrous state, and without a high-grade superior to support them, it was very difficult for them to defend against their opponent. The situation became even worse as they became blinded by the light.
A loud roar travelled through the sky. The Dragon Singer Mercenary Corps led by Dwightsteel came from the left while Juventus led the Mercenaries Association, along with some recently-recruited mercenaries, and surrounded them from the right side. Tim had a good look at the battlefield as he retreated backward and suddenly understood how stupid he had been! Numerous high-grade professionals on his opponent’s side were rushing to and fro into his troops and killing them as if they were just entering into no-man’s land. All of these professionals together, the reinforcements, along with the two magus’ who hadn’t even appeared on the battlefield, would make it impossible for them to escape even if Lord Zaganide were here! Plus, there were thousands of gargoyles flying above them, making it an impossible situation for Tim.
