A staff-only elevator was heading upwards and stopped after it reached the top floor of the hotel. The elevator door opened and there was a hotel staff walking to the corridor while pushing his cleaning cart.
The cleaner had an Asian face with thick lips, thick eyebrows, and a flat nose. He strolled to the end of the corridor with his cleaning cart.
Two of the armed guards were watching the cleaner’s each and every movement closely. Their hands were crossed between their legs. This was not to help them sit but to help them draw their weapons quicker.
The cleaner did not act suspiciously. He even smiled at them when he approached them like he was being kind.
Two of them stared at the cleaner coldly. They had no reaction, not even a friendly smile to return. Who cared about a smile from a cleaner?
The cleaner brought the cleaning cart and stopped it beside them.
Instantly, both of the armed men raised their hands, as they were about to take out their pistol at any time.
The cleaner did not seem to notice anything as he walked towards the room opposite them and inserted a room card into an identifier.
There was a soft click and the door was unlocked.
The cleaner brought his cleaning cart inside, remembering to shut the door. Meanwhile, the armed men lowered their hands.
Xia Lei was the cleaner.
The room card he used was not for this room but the room he booked previously. Before he came to the top floor, he shut down the identifier of this room in the management system. Any card would have opened the door.
The room he entered was an unoccupied presidential suite. It was the reason he chose this room. He could not do anything if this room was booked earlier.
He stayed at the door after entering the room. His X-ray vision penetrated through two large wooden doors and reached the opposite room.
The opposite room was very crowded. The passageway, windows, and doors were occupied by dozens of armed men, forming a very solid defence.
Jack was in that room too, but not Caitlin. She was probably locked in another room.
“Mister Ton, it seemed like there was a situation on your side. What happened exactly?” asked Mister Yan.
Mister Ton answered, “Mister Yan, you’re surely good at collecting intelligence. You could even know such a highly confidential secret. I’m afraid that I have to check your sources.”
“Hahaha.” The old Caucasian man was amused. “Mister Ton, the FA organization is not one of those terror organizations from the Middle-East. We have our own rules of survival. Don’t be curious about how we obtain any intelligence. If you do really want to check, I’m afraid you will regret the consequences.”
His tone sounded a bit menacing.
“Who is this man?” Ton looked at the old Caucasian man. Ton was not frightened at all.
Meanwhile, in the other room, Xia Lei was surprised that even Ton did not know about the identity of the old Caucasian man. What exactly was his role in the FA organization?
Mister Yan looked at the old Caucasian man, seemingly asking for his permission.
The old Caucasian man nodded his head.
Only then did Mister Yan look at Ton. “This is Mister Augustan, he’s the mentor of the Dark Mona. He’s been training soldiers for the FA organization. According to you Americans, Mister Augustan can be considered as our commander.”
The commander of the FA organization. He was the highest-ranking person in the FA organization that Xia Lei had ever encountered.
Instantly, there was awe in Ton’s eyes. “Nice to meet you, Mister Augustan.”
“The pleasure is mine,” said Mister Augustan. “I do actually know you, Mister Ton. The Director of National Intelligence from CIA stationed in Lockheed Martin. You’ve been gathering intelligence for Lockheed Martin, especially military intelligence from Russia and China. In the meantime, you’ve also been busy collecting and sorting out the intelligence of Lockheed Martin for the CIA. Lockheed Martin is the most powerful armoury in this world. You were assigned by the American government to be basically both a guardian and watcher in Lockheed Martin. Your ranking in the CIA must be much higher than those directors of Asia and Africa, right?”
Ton chortled. “I’m just a normal staff. The American government is my boss and there are no differences between high ranking and low ranking.”
“Democracy. Haha.” Mister Augustan laughed out loud but there was a hint of disdain in his smile.
Mister Yan pointed at the Mexican lady who was sitting beside Augustan. “This is Sirita. She is Mister Augustan’s apprentice.”
“Nice to meet you, Miss Sirita,” said Ton.
Sirita nodded to Ton, “Nice to meet you too, Mister Ton. From now on, both of us will be working for the American government. We hope that we’ll have your support.”
“Naturally,” Ton promised.
Augustan uttered, “Mister Ton, I believe that you didn’t come all the way here to meet me and Sirita. Are you worried about us? Or you are worried about your drone?”
Ton did not answer his question. He turned and glanced at Jack who was standing behind him.
Tacitly, Jack said, “Mister Augustan, I had analyzed everything that happened and I believe you are aware of the events that transpired at Lockheed Martin. I have the absolute reason to believe that he’ll follow us here. I’m also sure that his target is the drone that we gave you.”
In the other room, Xia Lei wanted to kick Jack’s face so badly after seeing him talking with such confidence. The bastard had guessed his motives and schemes more than once. Jack was really born to be a spy!
Three of the important people of the FA organization gazed at each other at the same time.
Jack continued on his analysis and thoughts. “He disguised as me and infiltrated Lockheed Martin. I suspect that he was looking for the Predator B drone that Lockheed Martin manufactured for you.”
“Who are you?” Augustan looked at Jack.
Ton answered, “He’s an engineer from Lockheed Martin and he’s my underling. He’s a clever man. And he’ll have a bright future in the CIA.”
Augustan muttered, “So tell me, Jack. You mentioned that the person who sneaked into Lockheed Martin was looking for the drone. Let me ask you. He could not steal the drone from and he certainly won’t be that stupid enough to destroy the drone in Lockheed Martin. Could you tell me what his reasons were for infiltrating the place?”
“Perhaps he’s going to implant a virus programme,” said Jack. “And if that happened, he’ll be the one controlling the Predator B drone. He can control the drone to attack any targets. You must know that the two missiles we gave you were specifically customized and they’re very, very powerful.”
Three of them looked at each other again.
After exchanging eye contact, Mister Yan said, “It seemed like he missed the right time. According to my intelligence, we were at the sawmill when he infiltrated Lockheed Martin. We also checked the drone and there were no traces of it. Your analysis did make sense but I think we’re good.”
“It’s better to be safe than sorry,” Jack advised. “There are only two purposes for our visit. Firstly, to find that guy. Secondly, to check the drone again.”
“We had checked the drone already.” Mister Yan furrowed his brows.
Jack said, “I know. But they are not familiar with the drone. I’m the one who made the drone. I can tell if there is any problem.”
“You Americans are so troublesome,” Sirita complained.
Jack retorted, “This is not child’s play. We can’t afford any mistakes. This is the first time the FA organization is collaborating with us, right? I would not like our first collaboration to end in a disaster.”
Augustan said, “This kid is quite good. Seems like you had found your perfect successor, Mister Ton.”
“Thank you,” said Jack. “I shall take a quick look at the Predator B drone. Is that okay?”
Mister Yan uttered, “Our professionals are assembling that drone. They should be done assembling it now.”
“What will they do after the assembly?” Jack sounded a little bit worried suddenly.
Mister Yan replied, “Test run it, of course. Then, we’ll ship it to Asia. We’ll not have any chance to test run it in Asia. You certainly cannot expect us to test run it in Mexico as the Mexican Air Force will strike it down.”
“Tell your men not to run the test. Let me go and check now,” said Jack.
“Sure. I’ll bring you there now. But there’s no need to contact them. They will only test run it until I order them to do so,” said Mister Yan. He looked at Augustan and Sirita. “Are you both coming with us?”
Augustan replied, “I’m not joining. Have fun with them.”
Sirita shook her head too.
Both of them did not care about Jack’s analysis at all.
Mister Yan, Jack, and Ton left the room then. Mister Yan told the two armed men who were guarding the door to follow him to the farm.
Hence, both of the armed men guarding the door left with Mister Yan.
Xia Lei opened his door and left with the cart after they walked through the corridor and entered into the lift completely.
There was a blindspot that was not covered by the surveillance camera at the corner between the elevator and the stairs. He drew out a cheap phone and called a number without looking at the number pad. As soon as the call was connected, he changed to a soft tone. “Hey, Babe. Can you recognize my voice? I miss you so much, my dear…”
