Ye Zhiqiang was a little dumbfounded when he received the call from Xue Li. She was pregnant? “Are you certain about that?”
“I just came back from the hospital. Will you…… will you be coming over tonight?” asked Xue Li with a hint of shyness.
“Of course.” Xue Li had never been to school before but she is smart. For certain she would be able to learn to read and write in a few years’ time after she moved to the city. Most importantly, she was healthy. Her children would for certain be strong and smart. As for Tianbao, Ye Zhiqiang had already forgotten all about him.
Ye Zhiqiang came home from the construction site an hour early. He smiled a satisfied smile when he saw the examination report. “You rest up nicely at home and give me a boy. I will treat you and your son well.”
“You won’t like it if it’s a daughter?” asked Xue Li coquettishly.
“Of course I will like any children from you.” Ye Zhiqiang put his arm around Xue Li and wooed her.
There was this one thing that Ye Zhiqiang had never told anyone. To him, it was love at first sight when he met Li Jiaojiao. He felt that it was meant to be. He didn’t exactly love his older daughter JingJing a lot but he did have feelings for her. She was, after all, his very first child. Tianbao, even more so. He was his son. For some inexplicable reasons, however, ever since Li Jiaojiao was pregnant, he had an urge to give her the entire world and, more and more, he could not tolerate the existence of Shu Yan and the two children. That was the reason why Shu Yan’s threat worked so well and he didn’t even hesitate before giving up custody on his two children.
All the way until Li Jiaojiao had a miscarriage was when Ye Zhiqiang finally snapped out of it. He felt as though he had been spellbound in the past. Even though the way he treated Li Jiaojiao remained the same as before, but he was intimidated by her.
Li Jiaojiao was weakened from the miscarriage, but not to the point of not being able to get pregnant again. Which was why, during the first month after the incident, Ye Zhiqiang had paid the doctor to give her drugs that would prevent her from getting pregnant again.
He never told this to anyone, including his parents. He was a little worried when Xue Li got married. When he made sure that he did not feel the same way this time, he came to the conclusion that that only happened with Li Jiaojiao.
“What’s the matter?” Xue Li was dreaming about what their child would be like in the future when she realized that Ye Zhiqiang had been unresponsive. She tugged him.
“No, nothing. You must be hungry. Let’s go get something to eat. What would you like to eat?” As for Li Jiaojiao who was waiting for him at home, Ye Zhiqiang had long since forgotten all about her.
Ye Zhiqiang had a mansion built in Province Xin after he had made money. It was Li Jiaojiao’s birthday today and she was sitting in front of a big table full of food. Ye Zhiqiang had promised that he would be home to celebrate with her but he never showed up.
“Madam, the dishes are cold. Should I reheat them?” asked the servant carefully.
“It’s alright.” Li Jiaojiao twisted the napkin and her eyes reds. “That **** *****. She wants to steal my man from me? Not a chance in ****.”
Shu Yan immediately found out what happened on Ye Zhiqiang’s end. “Good that Xue Li is pregnant. Now Ye Zhiqiang would give up his idea on Tianbao.”
As for how Xue Li was going to squeeze out Li Jiaojiao and become Ye Zhiqiang’s wife or how Li Jiaojiao was going to defend her position, none of those had anything to do with Shu Yan.
“Don’t worry. I am sure Ye Zhiqiang’s partner will want his cousin to give birth to the child.” Feng Zeyu did not wish their quiet and peaceful life to be interrupted by Ye Zhiqiang.
