Looking at them, Butler Zhou saw that even though Tan Mo was asleep, she was still holding Wei Zhiqian’s hand tightly and refused to let go.
Butler Zhou attempted once again to release their interlocked hands, but to no avail. He didn’t dare to use too much force for fear of hurting Tan Mo.
In the end, he could only go to the bedroom and find a blanket to cover Tan Mo with.
When Tan Mo woke up, Butler Zhou thought of convincing her to go to the bedroom and sleep.
What Butler Zhou didn’t know was Tan Mo wasn’t simply asleep. She fell into a coma after having transferred a lot of energy to Wei Zhiqian.
That night, Wei Zhiqian’s temperature was normal.
In the morning, Wei Zhiqian slowly opened his eyes. He felt he had a good night’s sleep.
He slept soundly.
He raised his hand and rubbed his eyes without feeling any discomfort.
However, in his heart, he felt something uncomfortable.
Now fully awake, he noticed the smell of disinfectant. He then lowered his head to see that he was wearing a hospital gown.
Only then did he remember that he had suffered from a gunshot wound and was taken to Chutian Hospital.
But the strange thing was, his wound didn’t hurt.
He raised his hand to check on his wound but was unable to do so.
Wei Zhiqian tilted his head and saw Tan Mo beside his bed, holding his hand.
Why was she here?
Tan Mo was sleeping on her arms, with one hand intertwined with his.
The back of his hand happened to touch her face.
It was a hot day, but Tan Mo’s face was pale and cold.
Was she sick?
Did Tan Mo stay here to watch over him all night?
Wei Zhiqian squeezed Tan Mo’s hand and said, “Mo Mo.”
His voice was hoarse. When he made a sound, it was as if his throat had been cut by a knife.
His throat was sore, and he struggled to make a sound.
When Butler Zhou came out of the bathroom and saw that Wei Zhiqian was awake, he rushed over excitedly. “Young Master!”
“Hush!” Wei Zhiqian motioned for him to keep his voice down and whispered, “Don’t wake up Mo Mo.”
Butler Zhou nodded, then moved about quietly and pressed the call bell.
After a while, a doctor and a nurse came over to check Wei Zhiqian.
“Everything looks fine. He just needs to rest well,” the doctor said.
“Apply a cotton swab to your lips first before drinking any liquids,” the doctor instructed. “Then use this thin straw and sip slowly.”
The nurse brought out a straw and some medicines to change Wei Zhiqian’s bandage.
Butler Zhou moisturized Wei Zhiqian’s lower lip first, then let Wei Zhiqian took a sip with the straw.
Wei Zhiqian didn’t want to wake up Tan Mo, but she couldn’t sleep like this.
Butler Zhou explained, “I wanted to carry Miss Mo Mo back to the room so she could comfortably sleep on the bed, but her hand was holding yours tightly–I couldn’t pull it away. I didn’t dare to force it for fear of hurting her.”
Wei Zhiqian tried to free his hand from Tan Mo’s grasp but found that he couldn’t do so.
He moved aside and said, “You can carry Mo Mo.”
He would just let Tan Mo sleep while holding his hand.
In the eyes of Butler Zhou and Wei Zhiqian, Tan Mo was still a child. They didn’t think there was anything wrong with her being in the same bed as Wei Zhiqian.
She was Wei Zhiqian’s junior.
Moreover, the hospital bed was quite large that it could accommodate two plump patients.
Even if Tan Mo were transferred on the bed, there would still be a lot of space between her and Wei Zhiqian.
Seeing Wei Zhiqian moving aside, Butler Zhou quickly reminded, “Be careful of your wound!”
“It’s okay.” Wei Zhiqian was also quite surprised. “It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
“Are you sure? The anesthesia should have worn off by now.” Butler Zhou was also stunned.
Butler Zhou helped Wei Zhiqian move aside, then carried Tan Mo to the bed.
Wei Zhiqian checked on Tan Mo and saw that she still showed no signs of waking up.
Wei Zhiqian asked in a low voice, “When did Mo Mo come here?”
Butler Zhou told him how Yuan Keqing deliberately informed Tan Mo about his injury, which caused Tan Mo to quickly finish her exam. He also told Wei Zhiqian about how she hurried over and took care of him all night.
How could he not let Wei Zhiqian know how good Tan Mo was?
These past few years, Wei Zhiqian had been doting on Tan Mo. She was worth it after all.
Wei Zhiqian lowered his head. He was moved by Tan Mo’s sweet gesture. He smiled and said, “This girl…”
Wei Zhiqian touched Tan Mo’s face, his brows furrowed. “Why is she so pale? Her face also feels terribly cold. Butler Zhou, call the doctor over to check on her. I’m worried she might be sick.”
“Yes.” Butler Zhou saw that Tan Mo’s complexion was really bad, so he rushed to call a doctor over.
The same doctor, who had just checked on Wei Zhiqian, came.
He came in for a moment and asked the nurse, “Why haven’t you changed Mr. Wei’s bandage yet?”
Nurse: “…”
She had no chance to change it.
The moment Wei Zhiqian woke up, his attention was on this girl named Tan Mo.
He kept moving and asking questions. She couldn’t find the opportunity to change his bandage.
The doctor wondered why another patient was on the bed.
“Doctor, come check my niece first. She looked after me all night, and her face is cold and pale,” Wei Zhiqian said immediately.
Changing his bandage wasn’t important.
“Mr. Wei, let the nurse change your bandage while I check on her, okay?” the doctor suggested.
Seeing Wei Zhiqian nodding, the nurse breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly changed Wei Zhiqian’s bandage.
After removing the gauze and seeing Wei Zhiqian’s wound, the nurse couldn’t believe her eyes.
“What’s wrong?” the doctor asked nervously.
“The wound…it was…healed,” the nurse mumbled, pointing to Wei Zhiqian’s wound.
The wound was unusually clean.
The bleeding had stopped, and the wound was showing signs of healing.
Even though Wei Zhiqian and Butler Zhou were not medically trained, they know that this wasn’t normal.
Butler Zhou thought that perhaps Wei Zhiqian was so special that he had awakened two abilities.
Wasn’t it the same as having self-healing abilities?
“Doctor,” Butler Zhou spoke, “please keep this matter confidential. This is the first time we have encountered such a situation.”
The doctor nodded and said, “Don’t worry, we will not disclose any information about the patient.”
The nurse also nodded. Having been working in Chutian Hospital for quite some time, she knew what to do.
Moreover, Wei Zhiqian and her boss, Chu Zhaoyang, were friends.
Although the wound showed signs of healing, it wasn’t completely healed yet. The nurse still applied medications and a fresh bandage to the wound.
Wei Zhiqian watched the doctor as he checked on Tan Mo.
The doctor was holding a stethoscope and was about to perform auscultation when Wei Zhiqian grabbed the doctor’s wrist all of a sudden. “What are you doing?”
Doctor: “…”
“Young Master,” Butler Zhou reminded him, “the doctor has to check Miss Mo Mo’s heartbeat.”
