If Jiang Siyong wouldn’t leave, then the three brothers would remain in the karaoke room until he decided to. They would stay until the world ended.
Jiang Siyong was completely speechless.
It was then that one of Jiang Siyong’s friends stood up and said with an awkward smile, “You know what? Let’s just get out of here and head back home.”
These people had come out to have some fun with Jiang Siyong and their relationship was good enough that they weren’t going to abandon him.
However, it didn’t mean that they wouldn’t laugh at him when he wasn’t around.
“Yeah. it’s pretty late anyway,” another friend agreed, nodding.
The whole group of them quickly decided to leave. They weren’t going to kick Jiang Siyong out of their group and make him leave.
Jiang Siyong was completely apologetic and embarrassed at the same time. His friends’ evening had been ruined all because of something that he had done.
“It’s okay. You guys can stay and have a good time. I don’t want to spoil all your fun. It’s not like this will be the last time we come here. Let’s just meet up next time,” Jiang Siyong said. As long as he stopped harassing Tan Mo, the three brothers from the Tan family would stop troubling him too.
The only problem was that he felt defeated.
In the end, Jiang Siyong was the only one who left the karaoke bar.
Tan Jinqi and his two younger brothers did not follow him, because they knew there would be someone else who would keep an eye on him.
All Jiang Siyong could do was to return home in a very bad mood.
The three brothers didn’t do anything else to him after that. Their goal had been nothing more than to humiliate Jiang Siyong in front of his friends.
They made sure that they had harmed their target’s interests.
It made Jiang Siyong furious, but there was nothing he could do about it.
“If I had had any idea that the Tan family was so hard to deal with, I would never have tried to ask Tan Mo out.” Jiang Siyong sighed. “H*ll, with that kind of father and brothers, will she even be able to date anyone?”
…
The Beijing University students figured that Wei Zhiqian would only visit the campus that one day since he was a busy person with a very tight schedule.
The male students thought that their chance to ask Tan Mo out would eventually come.
As long as they didn’t go overboard like Jiang Siyong had done, they believed that they would be fine.
However, there were some who had given up on the idea of trying to date Tan Mo after learning of what had happened to Jiang Siyong.
To try and ask a girl out, a guy had to be relentless. Unfortunately, being relentless couldn’t work on Tan Mo. Not only that, but any guy who tried to do it would get canceled online.
That was why a lot of people had given up on the idea of being Tan Mo’s boyfriend.
Those who still had an interest in Tan Mo were on the lookout, waiting for a chance to make a move.
Sadly, Wei Zhiqian came to the campus every day after that and stayed near Tan Mo from morning till night.
Compared to the time when he had been a student at Beijing University, where he had to juggle his life between school and work, he was at campus a lot more now.
Then, after a few days, Wei Zhiqian was finally absent, but Tan Jinqi was in his place.
In the end, Tan Mo would either be accompanied by Wei Zhiqian or one of her three brothers.
They wouldn’t let another guy get close to Tan Mo.
One night, after Wei Zhiqian had walked Tan Mo back to her dorm, she messaged Qin Muye and asked, “What the h*ll are they doing?”
Qin Muye couldn’t help but laugh to herself. “Didn’t you always say you missed your uncle? Well, isn’t it good that you get to see him every day now?”
“But seeing him three times a day is a little too overboard. Not only Uncle, but even all my brothers are also doing the same thing too. It’s like they are keeping an eye on me.” Tan Mo was starting to get exhausted by it all.
“Didn’t you ask your brothers about it?” Qin Muye asked.
“I did. They said they had been too busy and didn’t get to spend a lot of time with me before. Now that they have some spare time, they wanted to cherish the chance to see me because they wouldn’t be able to see me once they get busy again…” Tan Mo clearly did not buy this excuse. “But, this is the first time Uncle is acting like this. He has literally come to have all three meals with me every day. Also, he has an apartment near his company, but he has decided to stay here, near campus instead. Why is he troubling himself so much?”
“You know what? Maybe I can ask my brother about this. Even I’m curious now.”
Qin Mufeng had already returned home from his trip. When he saw Qin Muye’s question, he replied, “This is my first time hearing about this.”
The more Qin Mufeng thought about it, the more curious he became.
“How about this? It’s your 18th birthday this Saturday.” Qin Mufeng then said, “I’ll find a chance to ask Zhiqian then what the heck is going on.”
“Why wait until then?”
“Well, I wouldn’t know if he was telling the truth if he’s answering me with a text or a voice message. It’s better to ask him in person,” Qin Mufeng explained.
If he asked Wei Zhiqian in person, he could study his best friend’s expressions and body language.
Since they had been best friends since they were little boys, they knew each other very well and could tell when the other person was lying.
…
Soon, Friday classes had ended for Tan Mo, Qin Muye, and Ming Yeqing.
Qin Muye’s birthday was the next day, and she didn’t know what her brother had in store for her.
QIn Mufeng had only told Tan Mo and Ming Yeqing about his plans.
Of course, it took him a lot of time to consider whether he should tell Ming Yeqing or not. In the end, he did it unwillingly only because Ming Yeqing was very close to Tan Mo and Qin Muye.
If his sister had learned that he didn’t invite Ming Yeqing, she would get angry at him.
The surprise was that Qin Mufeng had booked a whole hot springs resort to celebrate Qin Muye’s 18th birthday, and they would be heading to the resort after their classes had ended.
Because of the event, Tan Mo and Ming Yeqing had gotten approvals from their professors to be absent from the research that day.
As soon as the class ended, they packed the things they needed for the weekend and headed to the campus gates where the car that Qin Mufeng had arranged for was already waiting for them.
They got into the car, and they left the university.
Since Qin Muye was focused on the conversation with her friends, she didn’t notice that the car was driving in the wrong direction.
It wasn’t until they had entered the freeway that Qin Muye realized that they were going in a different direction.
“Huh? Where are we going?” Qin Muye asked.
“Miss, you’ll know when we get there,” the driver explained with a smile.
Both Tan Mo and Ming Yeqing pretended not to know what was going on and put on curious expressions as well.
It was so that Qin Muye wouldn’t realize that they had already learned of Qin Mufeng’s surprise.
Half an hour later, the car exited the freeway.
Qin Muye noticed that the road sign was pointing at the hot springs resort.
“The hot springs resort?” Qin Muye asked the driver.
“Yes. That’ll be our destination,” the driver finally admitted after they were about to reach their destination.
The car stopped in front of the lobby’s entrance.
A doorman quickly opened the car door, while his colleagues helped fetch the luggage from the trunk.
Qin Muye scanned the resort and realized it was awfully quiet, as if there weren’t any other guests except them.
“Ms. Qin,…” the manager of the resort personally greeted her, “…this way, please.”
“What is my brother up too?” Qin Muye asked, raising her eyebrows.
“Mr. Qin has booked the whole resort for the weekend,” the manager explained.
Inside the lobby, Qin Zhenglu, Dong Hanbi, Tan Wenci, Xu Mingzhen, the Tan brothers, and Ming Yeqing’s parents were already waiting for them.
The teenagers quickly greeted their elders.
“Mom! Dad!” Qin Muye exclaimed. “Where’s my brother?”
