She had the nerve to come to her?
Lin Fuxi hadn’t even needed to say anything before Tan Mo knew just exactly what she wanted to ask.
She definitely wanted to find out how she had done on her exams.
Lin Fuxi hadn’t wanted to ask, but she just couldn’t help herself.
If she didn’t ask Tan Mo about this, she just wouldn’t be able to stop thinking about it.
“What’s up?” Tan Mo pretended to be oblivious to Lin Fuxi’s intentions.
“How’d you do on your exams?” Lin Fuxi asked.
Tan Mo had just organized all her things and was about to head out. She didn’t want to stop what she was doing just to talk to Lin Fuxi.
“All right, I guess. It’s been a busy semester,” Tan Mo said truthfully.
She had even been busy with the script every day. This semester had been extremely difficult.
Now, she had finally made it to break and vacation. About time! She needed to rest.
And she had decided that maybe she wouldn’t get involved with Tan Jinqi and the drama groups anymore.
It’d just be adding more stuff to her long list of work that was already enough.
She needed to rush home to rest up.
No way did she want to get delayed by Lin Fuxi.
But Lin Fuxi speeded up her questioning. “Do you think that you might get a perfect score this time?”
“I can’t say anything for sure.” Tan Mo turned around and waved her hand toward her. “If I got a question wrong and didn’t achieve full marks, everyone would think that I had lied to them. That would be embarrassing, wouldn’t it?”
Lin Fuxi didn’t know what to say to that.
“Does that mean you want to get the scholarship?” Lin Fuxi asked again.
“I can’t say much about that either. If they do give it to me, it’s not like I could refuse, right?” Tan Mo was now getting annoyed. “But again, in what world would I get what I wanted just by thinking about it?” Tan Mo said this specifically for Lin Fuxi.
Unfortunately, Lin Fuxi didn’t pick up on her hints.
She thought that this meant Tan Mo herself wasn’t confident about getting a scholarship.
The results were all published during break, and students were supposed to log into their portals online to check themselves.
Everything was marked with just A, B,C, Ds.
You couldn’t see the rankings either.
All of these specific details were in the hands of the teachers.
Lin Fuxi had already checked that all her subjects were marked with As.
With an A, your numerical mark must be in the range of 90 to 100. This would mean that she’d get four grade points.
There wasn’t any need to know about the detailed marks of her other subjects.
With just the grade points, she would already achieve full marks anyway.
If this was the case, then even if Tan Mo did get full marks, there wouldn’t be any difference between them.
Because even if she did get full marks, her grade points would still be four.
At most, they’d be ranked the same.
This didn’t affect her in getting the scholarship at all.
This made Lin Fuxi happy.
This was her first good accomplishment since entering Beijing University.
…
Tan Mo had only been reminded by Meng Yuxi about the grades. If it hadn’t been for her, she would’ve forgotten all about them.
She took a look and saw that they were all As. She didn’t pay it much mind after that.
Seemed like her normal average scores…
Tan Jinqi had already worked hard for half a year, so this summer was a well-deserved break for him to rest also. Their show was about to start to air, taking advantage of summer’s golden hours.
This was why everyone in the Tan family was gathered around the television on premiere night.
Other than Tan Wenci and Xu Mingzhen, the other four members of the Tan family hadn’t turned on a television in quite a while.
When the episode started airing, the screen showed the words: Scriptwriter: Qi Mo.
“Who came up with this name?” Tan Jinsheng was jealous.
No one else would get it, but the family could of course.
Qi Mo: wasn’t that just Tan Jinqi and Tan Mo mashed up?
“It was Mo Mo herself who came up with it.” Tan Jinqi could not hide his satisfaction.
Keep being jealous, won’t you?
You all won’t ever enjoy such treatment.
“It’s because both of us have participated in this drama,” Tan Mo explained softly. “Director Liu allowed me to put my name on it, but I didn’t want to put down my actual name. I was afraid it might affect the drama’s popularity if people online found out about my age. That’s why I came up with this pen name.”
Tan Jinqi nodded. “Mo Mo really thinks and considers everything before putting something in action.
“Even if we haven’t talked about all the problems, there were tons of them. Before shooting had even begun, there were already rumors that the scriptwriter was too young and that she had relied on connections to get the role,” Tan Jinqi spoke seriously. “But, of course, only the young part was true.
“There was such a big fuss. It was only because of our investment and the help of Wei Zhiqian and Han Zhuoli that the mess died down online.
“If we were to use Mo Mo’s real name, everyone online would be able to find her, especially since she won the Ancient Chinese competition earlier in the year. As exceptional as she is, those online fans wouldn’t stop complaining about her age. They’ve never seen Tan Mo in real life, so they’d all think that the rumor was true.
“It’s easy to underestimate someone because of their age,” Tan Jinqi said. “Plus, tons of people already suspected that Mo Mo only got the role because of her connections. There are others who even suspect that Mo Mo didn’t even do any of the work, and it’s just her name that’s being branded.
“And now the Tan family is the biggest investor in the production. These things are easy to find out online. And if they do realize that Mo Mo is related to us, it’d be so much easier for them to solidify their suspicions. Mo Mo’s hard work and knowledge would be reduced to nothing if that was the case.
“Also, this would actually bring a negative effect on the series. Initially, our investment and Mo Mo’s role as scriptwriter and consultant were to help Director Liu out as much as we could. We can’t turn this into something that would disadvantage Director Liu.
“All these reasons were why Mo Mo and I decided to think it through and give ourselves a pen name. She’ll be able to protect herself as well.”
“But why didn’t you guys add our names in?” Tan Jinsheng was heartbroken.
“It’s just that I think Qi Sheng Yi Mo sounds quite good too,” Tan Jinsheng said quite seriously.
Xu Mingzhen was speechless.
“You have to respect the actual situation here. Where on earth would Qi Sheng Yi Mo fit? It doesn’t sound nice, and it’s not memorable either. Not as good as Qi Mo, that’s for sure,” Xu Mingzhen blurted out the truth as she saw it.
Qi Sheng Yi Mo had been thought up by him.
“Second brother, third brother,” Tan Mo reached out to them, “…don’t get ahead of yourselves. Wait till second brother starts, then I’ll write out the lyrics for third brother. Then the pen name would be Sheng Mo.
“Third brother does art and sketching, and I can’t participate in that. But if there’s a chance, I could suggest some things for third brother to draw?” Tan Mo’s eyes sparkled as she said these words. Tan Jinyi couldn’t seem to resist her.
“We could just use Yi Mo as a creative name then, all right?” Tan Mo was looking for Tan Jinyi’s suggestions.
As long as it was Tan Mo suggesting that, there was no way that Tan Jinyi would say no. “Of course!”
“Look at the names Mo Mo made for us: Qi Mo, Sheng Mo, Yi Mo. How pleasing to the ears. The other ones that Tan Jinsheng came up with like Qi Sheng Yi Mo aren’t even slightly as nice,” Tan Wenci exclaimed.
