That was the main reason why the US government remained silent and did nothing even when faced with all of those raving protests.
They had no way of making sure that they have what it takes to take on Lu Xuan. To their dismay, however, they found that Lu Xuan’s powers have grown even further. That fact was just as exasperating as it could ever get.
That fact was unbelievably vexing for everyone, yet they were able to do nothing but sulk about it.
Lu Xuan’s powers had grown even further, more so than when he killed that two-winged angel back at Vatican City. The possibility of them being able to get rid of Lu Xuan had been reduced even further than before.
The new president who just assumed office banged on his table and yelled, “Contact the Huaxian government right away and make a request of participating in the research if Lu Xuan were to sell the dead bodies of Divine Treasure Realm demons to them like how he always did. They didn’t manage to keep the two-winged angel’s body back then, and we have to be a part of the research looking into the secrets of those Divine Treasure Realm beings. It doesn’t matter how much it will cost; buy a dead body of those demons if possible. I have to get my hands on something!”
The research on the two-winged angel’s was only about halfway complete by the time the body was taken away, which prevented them from fully completing the research.
Several dead bodies of Divine Treasure Realm demons were currently on the market. While none of them were angels, they would have still shared some sort of similarity to that angel if they were all Divine Treasure Realm beings.
That was also what the governments around the world wanted to look into the most: they wanted to find out the common traits that all of the beings shared with each other, then manufacture such powerful beings somehow.
The officials of the European Union who were present looked just as glum as those from the US government even though it did not seem to have anything to do with Lu Xuan, considering he was doing battle at Vatican City back then.
However, Christians all over the world still saw Lu Xuan manage to cut down that two-winged angel via live broadcast.
One could say that what happened caused a massive collapse of faith in regions where Christianity was the main religion.
The incident was strongly related to the cults devoted to worshipping Lu Xuan mushrooming all over the US. Many people who were Christians had converted to cults worshipping Lu Xuan.
Religious freedom was uncommon in Europe, so far fewer cults had developed there. Nonetheless, the core of their beliefs was still based on Christianity, regardless if it was the Roman Catholic variant or that of other Christian sects. Everyone still worshipped God.
The deity-like being that they previously believed to be omnipotent was cut down so easily, leading to the collapse of people’s faith.
Countless people quickly committed suicide, causing social and economic collapse all over Europe.
That was something that many people in Huaxia were unable to relate to because there were very few religious people in Huaxia. Even those who claimed to be religious were actually of very utilitarian mindsets. Deities needed to be able to ensure things like passing exams, bestowing sons to families, blessing the safety of family members, and a variety of other matters before devotees of any kind would come.
Said devotees would quickly ditch their faith and convert if said deities were to ‘fail’ in their ‘duties’.
As such, many Huaxians were essentially atheists. Thus, they were unable to understand what those Americans and Europeans were doing, and what would make so many people want to kill themselves.
They were baffled at the need to do such things over an angel.
The European and American civilizations, which were constructed from the base of such beliefs in the first place, found themselves on the brink of collapse. The religion they wore like a badge of pride and honor was being used to wipe the floor as if it was dirt cheap, to begin with.
Back when such people went about propagating their faith, there was no way for non-believers to bring about effective retorts to their claims. There was hardly any sense of what is right and wrong when it came to religions.
However, things were completely different now. Regardless of what was said and done, the fact that their angel was cut down remained and rendered everyone speechless.
Lu Xuan was the cause of all that; those people hardly thought he was any better than the American officials.
The fact that someone as powerful as Lu Xuan was still growing even stronger did not sit well with those people. They all felt very frustrated about the situation.
However, everyone came to their senses after spending some time sulking over it. They sent their people to Huaxia as quickly as they could, wanting to participate in the research of those Divine Treasure Realm demons.
They could not fall behind Huaxia in terms of such a research endeavor, at the very least.
It went without saying that the Russian government was the only one that could afford to be relaxed to a certain degree with things among all others because they possessed the dead body of a bear demon. In terms of research value, however, the bear demon was clearly worthless compared to those that Lu Xuan killed.
That bear demon’s dead body was practically deformed by the nuclear strike. Over half of its body was vaporized, and the remaining pieces were all radioactively contaminated as well.
Then again, it was still better than having nothing. That was why the Russian government was not as desperate.
That was what exasperated the American and European officials. They would have used nuclear weapons sooner if they knew more about the situation. After all, the hefty cost incurred would have still been better than having to beg the Huaxian government.
However, it was not like they could do so even if they were given the chance. The population density was far higher in the US and European nations after all when compared to most of Russia, which had vast tracts of land that were hardly even populated in the first place. Those densely populated areas in European countries and the US were all economically prosperous, so there was no doubt that throwing a nuclear bomb into such places would result in serious backlash.
The clash between humans and demons had yet to reach the stage where one needed to get rid of the other regardless of the cost incurred after all.
The best way to take on the demons was still through the use of high-level cultivators.
The ministers of the Huaxian government immediately gave an order, having the Dragon get in touch with Lu Xuan. They had to make sure that the government authorities have secured the dead bodies; reducing them to food for the Lu family was deemed an utter waste. They believed that they needed to make the most out of the dead bodies.
Lu Xuan had no intention of killing Ao Fan, who was currently comatose. Ao Fan would be of more use alive than dead after all. Even if he were used as a guinea pig, the experiments would still be better done if he was still alive.
Lu Xuan had thought about how to address the possibility of him going crazy when he awakened and put several talismans on him, making sure that he could never awaken. Even if he somehow managed to do so, the talismans would have sealed all of his powers, making it easy to deal with him if he ever decided to try anything.
Ao Fan could then be sold at a good price and that would be yet another wonderful source of income.
That would then allow Lu Xuan to enhance his powers even further.
Just when Lu Xuan was thinking about what he could exchange the comatose Ao Fan for at the moment, a huge gash was suddenly seen in the sky.
Lu Xuan was able to see what was keeping that fissure in the sky in place on the other side: some sort of formation.
Everyone noticed the sudden tear in the sky as well, wondering if that was the rumored spatial formation.
Just when everyone remained puzzled, an incredibly huge claw filled with dragon scales was seen descending from the sky, which was out to grab the comatose Ao Fan.
It was trying to spirit the comatose Ao Fan away.
Lu Xuan snorted coldly and said, “Some guts you have, trying to take my prey right out of my hands.”
As he quickly brandished the Dragonslayer right away, a blast of sword aura that measured over 300 meters in length was seen shooting into the sky.
