“Take it.” After hearing the guests’ comments, Tu Xiupei nearly ground her teeth to powder. She reluctantly threw a bank bill at the server, then turned to leave but stopped and looked at the server. “Since my older sister is so generous, surely this banquet is going to cost her more than 10 billion, right?”
She didn’t believe Feng Tianlan had enough money to settle the bill. If she had been charged 10 billion, then Feng Tianlan would be charged even more for sure. She wanted to see how Feng Tianlan was going to settle this ridiculous bill.
The server stashed away the bank bill then smiled harmlessly at Tu Xiupei. “Our owner says that because Miss Tu stole the limelight from the Feng Clan Head, to compensate her, this banquet is on the house!”
In other words, Tu Xiupei had paid a million gold coins but hadn’t even made a good name for herself. Instead, she had helped to make this banquet free for Feng Tianlan.
“You…” Tu Xiupei couldn’t hold it in anymore. “You’ve gone too far in bullying me!”
This was an attack on her, and it drove her nuts!
“Miss Tu, next time, don’t try to snatch things from others or take ownership of things that don’t belong to you. It’s unethical.” The server waved the bank bill gleefully as if he were telling Tu Xiupei that they were purposely out to bully her. But there was nothing she could do except try to fight back—if she dared.
Tu Xiupei was so angry that she nearly vomited blood. She took one look at Si Mobai, then her eyes immediately turned red, and tears began to fall one by one. “Eldest Sister, you…I’m leaving first.” With that, she ran out crying.
She believed that, if she ran out looking this pitiful, the Wargod would feel for her and smash Feng Tianlan to pieces. She truly thought that the Wargod liked her.
Feng Tianlan stifled a laugh when she saw how Tu Xiupei still took one last shot at winning sympathy from Si Mobai before leaving. This woman was really great at acting.
After Tu Xiupei left, there was an uproar from the crowd. Everyone was talking about how her head had swelled with so much pride, but now, she had been slapped so hard in the face.
“I just realized that the Feng Clan Head and Miss Tu were only born a few hours apart. Do you think that they are wrong about who truly has the destiny of a phoenix?”
“It can’t be. Apparently, the one who said it was a Supreme from the Xuantian Continent, so he couldn’t have gotten it wrong.”
“That Tu Xiupei doesn’t seem to match her reputation anymore. She doesn’t seem to be as good as the legend says.”
“I agree. Instead, it’s the Feng Clan Head who started as a good-for-nothing but has now turned the tables, launching counterattack after counterattack. How very exciting.”
The guests were eating and discussing. Tu Xiupei and the gang had become part of their dinner conversation. Feng Tianlan’s incredible transformation from good-for-nothing to the lady she was today had significantly changed the public’s opinion of her.
Feng Tianlan calmly sat in her seat and was about to leave when a handsome young man downstairs got up and toasted to her. “I have heard so much about you, Feng Clan Head, and I am in awe of how you have risen from the ashes. I wonder if you have any intentions of finding a husband?”
Immediately after he said this, the rest of the men started standing up, one after another.
“I have also been an admirer of the Feng Clan Head for a long time. I wonder if you will consider me?”
“I promise to be a good husband and never take a concubine. I’ll dote on only you.”
“I promise to be a good husband, too. I’ll give you all my assets, and you will be in charge of everything.”
“Hello, I’m the one who asked first! Don’t try to compete with me.”
“The Feng Clan Head doesn’t have a husband yet, so everybody gets a chance. This isn’t on a first come first served basis; it’s about whoever wins her heart.”
“Don’t you dare try. I’m not going to marry anyone else but her, so if you snatch her from me, I’m going to fight you!”
Er…
Feng Tianlan looked stunned at the guests who were on the brink of starting a fight. What was going on?
