Xi Jin sneered. He wasn’t even concerned about Shen Yunya’s hatred. He only felt joy in his heart at finally being able to avenge Dai’er. He wanted to her experience the despair she felt right now.
“Xi Jin, I loved you so much. Why do you treat me like this? Is Shen Qingdai truly worth all this effort?” Shen Yunya felt the fetus struggling within her womb as she looked at the sneering Xi Jin. She felt as if her heart was being pressed under a very heavy rock. The suffocation and pain made it hard to breathe. Each breath felt painful.
Xi Jin’s cold voice turned warm as he said in an affirmative tone, “It is worth it.”
He was willing to do anything for Dai’er. He would do anything!
“My child!” When Pock-faced Zhou—who was silent all this while—saw blood flowing out from below Shen Yunya’s body, he panicked. He knelt and kowtowed to Xi Jin repeatedly. “Crown Prince, I beg you to save my child! That is my child! That is my descendant! You promised you’ll let her give birth to my child!”
“Call the imperial physician over and save the baby,” Xi Jin ordered in a cold voice.
Shen Yunya could still feel the fetus moving inside her but she was feeling so much pain, throbbing pains. Something warm was gushing out of the lower half of her body. She couldn’t feel it at all. Besides the pain in her heart, she couldn’t feel anything.
She was still holding her stomach tightly as she raised her head and looked at Xi Jin with pleading eyes. “Brother Jin, have you ever loved me? Or even liked me at all?”
“No,” Xi Jin replied in a straightforward and cold manner. “If it weren’t for Dai’er, I wouldn’t have wanted to have anything to do with you. I can like anyone in this world except you, Shen Yunya. I will never like you. Not in this lifetime. I don’t even want to see your face.”
“Xi Jin!” More tears were flowing out of Shen Yunya’s eyes. She let out a manic and despairing laugh. “You are really ruthless!”
How could he treat her like this? How could he!
She would never let him live a good life. Never!
“Even after you gave me a bewitching elixir that lasted for three years, or was it even longer?” Xi Jin sneered when he saw her looking at him with disbelief. “The elixir was only effective on Jiang Ying. It had no effect on me. No matter what you do, I won’t ever like you. Not even the strongest elixirs can make me like you. You should know how terrible you are.”
Shen Yunya who was laughing maniacally suddenly stopped laughing. She looked at Xi Jin in disbelief. “You…”
How did he know about the bewitching elixir? No one except Rui’er and herself knew!
“Rui’er!” Shen Yunya stared at Rui’er angrily while shouting at her, “You despicable maid! You betrayed me! You betrayed me!”
Rui’er knelt down and spoke in an extremely guilty voice, eyes brimming with tears, “I am sorry. I didn’t have a choice.” To her, there was someone more important than Shen Yunya in this world.
Feng Tianlan was frowning at the side. She didn’t expect Xi Jin to threaten Rui’er just to find out about this. He probably didn’t know about the truth regarding the dumpling incident, right?
Shen Yunya was looking at Rui’er, who couldn’t do anything but cry and feel sorry. Then, she raised her head and looked at Xi Jin who looked on as if he was watching a drama indifferently. She burst out laughing like an idiot as the tears in her eyes continued to roll down her cheeks.
“Ya’er, stop crying. You’re bleeding. Hurry up and protect our baby.” Pock-faced Zhou crawled towards Shen Yunya, kneeling on the ground. He was begging her and trembling when his hands happened to touch her blood.
