The sky was getting dark and the streetlamps started to light up throughout City Z.
At this moment, at the end of the VIP tunnel in City Z airport, Gu Lingsha and Qi Feng were heading towards the lounge under the protection of several bodyguards.
Gu Lingsha wore a white dress today. Her long, silky hair together with her angelic face was extremely attractive. She looked really good with a handsome man like Qi Feng beside her, so everyone turned to them naturally!
However, she was not in the mood to notice these trivial matters. Nervously, she looked at the arrival door and she seemed uneasy as she shot Qi Feng a glance.
“Ah Feng, what should I do if my mother is still angry?” Gu Lingsha took several deep breaths and asked Qi Feng anxiously.
Qi Feng was calm as he comforted her, “It’s inevitable that she’ll be angry. Let’s hope that she’ll try to be considerate towards us.”
He knew very well what kind of woman Doris was. She was not just anybody. Even a man like Gu Qiwu had to do as she said. Qi Feng noticed that Gu Qiwu had been trying really hard to treat her well. Their relationship seemed odd.
Morrison also found out something interesting some time ago, so Qi Feng was just going to wait and see what happened.
Gu Lingsha’s worry did not go away as she mumbled, “I hoped she could return later so that she wouldn’t give us any trouble! As you know, she’s really against Weiwei. She’s never held her before even though Weiwei is this old already. We even got into the fight when I mentioned Weiwei. This time, I really wish that she’ll accept Weiwei. She’s my only daughter! Ah Feng…”
She felt heartbroken as she spoke. If it were not for the accident, she would not have lost her other child and Weiwei would not have been this physically weak too. Above all, she would not have lost her ability to get pregnant in the future.
That was one of the reasons why she could not let go of Qi Feng, or else her life would be ruined. She did not mind how much she had to sacrifice for him. She was willing to do anything in order to make him stay!
“Weiwei will get better. We’ve found her a psychiatrist. As long as we’re patient and she cooperates with the treatment, she’ll be fine. She’s recovering well now, isn’t she?” Qi Feng frowned.
He always knew that Doris was not fond of Qi Weier. Doris was a typical prideful woman. As a royal descendant, she only wanted the best, so she was already in disagreement when Qi Feng got together with Gu Lingsha because she preferred Mu Yuchen over him.
Qi Feng never forgot about it, but he just never mentioned it. He was still pretty courteous towards Doris. Nonetheless, he kept this to himself. Although he did not have a good impression of Doris, he had to be nice due to the circumstances at the moment.
Gu Lingsha was Doris’s only daughter and Doris was pretty proud of her, especially when Gu Lingsha inherited her outstanding appearance and turned out to be pretty smart. Qi Feng had to respect Doris for Gu Lingsha’s sake as well.
Gu Lingsha took a deep breath. “I’m afraid it’ll take a long time for Weiwei to recover. I’ve asked the doctor about it before.”
“As long as there’s hope, we can hang in there if we’re hopeful. I believe my daughter isn’t defective. Stop worrying. Haven’t we gone through so much all these years? You should stay calm. We’ve already gotten registered, so what is there to worry about?”
Qi Feng’s voice felt like it was filled with magic as he calmed Gu Lingsha’s anxious heart down. She moved over and grabbed his hand which was resting on his knee. “Ah Feng, I’ll make sure to convince my mother to accept Weiwei no matter what. She’ll give us her blessings! You have to perform well later. Although she never mentions it, she thinks highly of you.”
As he just put on a smile, Gu Lingsha did not notice the tint of darkness in his eyes, and she had no idea what he was thinking about.
“We’ll see, I know what to do.”
As Qi Feng replied, Secretary Qin’s voice reached them. “Manager Gu, First Master, look! Someone’s coming out! Madam should be here already!”
They stopped their conversation and looked at the gate. As expected, someone was walking out, so Gu Lingsha quickly went forward nervously. Qi Feng gave Morrison a signal, and he quickly wheeled him forward.
There were some noises at the front. Moments later, Secretary Qin voiced out again, “Manager Gu, First Master, look! Madam is here!”
Everyone looked ahead to see a slender figure soon appear within their sight.
In a long, gold-lined dress, with her blonde hair casually tied into a bun, her movements were elegant and mature. Although she was already past 50 years old, she looked just like a young lady. Many people would have guessed her age to be around 30 years old as they turned around just to look at her.
Who else could it be if not for Doris?
Secretary Qin could not take his eyes off her outstanding beauty. Certainly, Gu Lingsha inherited most of her beauty from this lady!
There were several bodyguards following behind Doris.
“Mother!” Gu Lingsha went forward and called out to her.
Doris looked over when she heard Gu Lingsha, but she did not give any reaction. She was very stiff as she walked forward without slowing down.
Gu Lingsha arrived before Doris and gently held her hands. “Mother, you’re back!”
