Chapter 654: Thunder Fury

Darkness fell. Wind howled. Rain poured, stirring up a mist upon contact with the sea.
“Whoosh~”
Two golden chariots whooshed by. Hu Lang and Lu Li were on one and Gu Min and the five patriarchs of the Gu Family shared another one. They were on their way to the west.
“Boom, boom, boom~”
It was still during the day but the darkness in the sky to the west was as terrifying as the night. Amid the dark clouds were raging dragons whooshing by. Smaller electric arcs were dancing around as if they were savage centipedes. Lu Li and the others didn’t have to be near to feel the suffocation. The patriarchs of the Gu Family were afraid to move any closer.
“Spread out and keep checking!”
Hu Lang waved. The patriarchs of the Gu Family put away their chariot and spread out to inspect as soon as Hu Lang said so as they were unwilling to move closer to the region of thunderstorm.
Lu Li and Hu Lang moved on. The rain was getting heavier and the gale slowed the chariot down. With the shield over the chariot, though, Lu Li and Hu Lang were not drenched.
“Let’s stop here, okay?”
Hu Lang could see that the thunderstorm was horrifying with countless snakes of lightning whooshing down from the sky into the sea. It was as if there was a curtain of lightning dangled into the sea. If they dared to move into the region, they would be turned into ashes.
“Closer.”
They were still more than 20 miles away from the edge of the thunderstorm so Lu Li could not sense clearly how powerful the lightning was. Hu Lang was afraid that something might happen so he was being cautious. But Lu Li knew they were still within a region of absolute safety.
Hu Lang had to control the chariot to fly closer. They made about 10 miles and Hu Lang would not move another inch.
Lu Li didn’t pressure him. With the electric arcs flying around, they could be injured. They wouldn’t even be able to run given how quickly the lightning travelled.
“Squeak, squeak~”
A small beast sneaked out from Lu Li’s sleeve. Its little eyes were misty. Clearly, it was woken up by the loud thunder roars.
Lu Li patted Little White’s head fondly but it paid no regard to him. It kept staring at the region of thunderstorm ahead with its sparkling eyes.
“Whoosh~”
All of a sudden, Little White rushed to the region of thunderstorm in a white blur. Hu Lang and Lu Li were taken aback. Lu Li was on the verge of calling for Little White to come back when he thought of something. He didn’t say anything even though he was still nervous.
“Young Master Li, should I get it back for you?” Hu Lang was shocked. What was wrong with this little guy? How could it dash into the thunderstorm?
“No!”
Lu Li waved his hand. After being refined by thunderbolts in the Ding of Barbarian God, Little White must be particularly strong. It must be confident enough and bold enough to rush into the thunderstorm.
“Boom~”
As soon as Little White arrived in the thunderstorm region, it was hit by a strike of lightning as thick as a human’s head. Little White was smashed into the sea. Lu Li was concerned and checked with psychic power right away.
“How…”
Hu Lang did so before Lu Li. The former was shocked. Soon, a blur rushed out from the sea and made its way to a huge lightning in confidence. Its little eyes were glowing as if it was not going toward horrifying lightning but the most delicious food.
“That little weirdo!”
Little White was smashed down again and again but it could fly back up each time. Hu Lang was speechless now. Back at the Inferno, Little White survived a strike from the Fire Leopard King. That already struck awe in Hu Lang and others. What happened now surprised Hu Lang even more.
Observing for a while, Hu Lang asked, “Young Master Li, is your little beast a Beast King?”
“I think it’s close to a Beast King in defense.”
Lu Li gave an ambiguous answer. He himself didn’t understand perfectly about Little White. The only thing he knew was that after being transformed by the divine energy, Little White must have changed. As for how long Little White could go in the future, nobody could say for sure.
Lu Li and Hu Lang stood in silence outside the thunderstorm, watching as Little White gets smashed down then flies back up from the sea over and over again. Gu Min and the patriarchs of the Gu Family didn’t come back. Evidently, it was secure nearby with no powerful warriors hidden.
This region lacked powerful warriors. Nobody would be bored enough to check out the horrifying thunderstorm. People would rather stay as far away as possible.
Lu Li decided to leave Little White alone after observing for a while. After all, it could not be killed by the lightning and it could play as it wished.
Lu Li concentrated on studying the thunderbolts in the sky, trying to gain some insight. Profound Meanings were the embodiment of laws of heaven and earth, including the commotion caused by thunderbolts. This was one of the most miraculous and powerful force in nature. If Lu Li could be inspired, there was a chance for him to learn a Profound Meaning.
Nobody would turn down learning Profound Meaning.
The thunderstorm covered a wide area with a radius of more than 100 miles. In front of Lu Li, extending to 100 miles away, were curtains of lightning. Thunders roared and carried horrifying energy within. Needless to say, there was power contained within that could tear apart numerous small creatures…
Noticing that Lu Li had lost himself in his thoughts, Hu Lang decided to leave him alone. Hu Lang flew around and saw that Gu Min and patriarchs of the Gu Family were still inspecting. Hu Lang went back to the chariot, rest assured and stood next to Lu Li to observe the ocean of lightning.
Hu Lang knew very well that the ocean of lightning carried within it many powerful Profound Meanings, a fact known even by Gu Min and the patriarchs. But Profound Meanings were not something to be learned easily. Some might stay here for years, let alone days, without having a chance to grasp something.
Hu Lang observed for several hours but felt nothing. Instead of wasting more time, he sat down with his legs crossed and his eyes closed to review the Profound Meanings he did know.
Warriors of his age understood that if one spread oneself out too thin, one could achieve little.
They would rather dig deeper into Profound Meanings they had learned than looking for opportunities to learn new Profound Meanings. They could gain complete mastery of the learned Profound Meanings and upgrade them.
The Space Sealing of Ming Yu was evolved from his previous “Force”. Low level Profound Meanings could evolve into high level ones under the premise that complete mastery was gained.
It was night. Lu Li gained nothing after a day. He could feel that the raging thunders and lightning contained a variety of miraculous Profound Meanings and laws but he could not put a pin on it. It was true that Profound Meanings could not be learned easily…
Little White was still shuttling back and force in the sea. Lu Li didn’t want to leave Little White here alone so he stayed with it. He also decided to go back after the Teleportation Formation was repaired.
The more powerful Little White was, the more empowered Lu Li could get. It was not his spiritual beast, but close.
At midnight, Hu Lang suddenly opened his eyes and looked to the northeast. He only let his guard down when he was sure that it was a patriarch of the Gu Family. He asked the patriarch from the distance, “What is it?”
The Gu Family patriarch flew up to the chariot, cupped his fists to Lu Li and Hu Lang and said, “3000 miles to the northwest is a small island with many warriors. Several Noble Lord Realm warriors of the Island of Tranquility are there as well. I think they discovered some treasure.”
“Treasure?”
Hu Lang and Lu Li looked at each other. Lu Li wondered what kind of treasure could be discovered in the sea.
Hu Lang, on the other hand, was interested. He nodded and said, “Tell us about it.”
