He never imagined that a phone call he made to complain to his friend, would be overheard by someone!
To make matters worse, it was Shi Sui who overheard!
He had interacted with Shi Sui before and he remembered him to be a natural talent at acting, as he almost never had to do multiple takes for a single scene. Even when the director made them do another take, it was mostly the problem of his co-stars.
Moreover, Shi Sui often treats others gently with politeness, and was almost never aggressive.
The young ‘Best Actor’, Shi Sui, looked down and hung up the phone nonchalantly.
Pangs of panic engulfed Director Liu but he pretended to be calm and said, “I was just joking with my friend over the phone just now. Well, as you know, we men just like chatting and joking around… Please don’t be offended!”
Shi Sui said sluggishly, “Well, I do mind it.”
Director Liu chuckled wryly and said, “Hahaha I know you two are close friends so I hereby apologize to you. It’s all my fault for being so cheeky with my words. My bad, my bad!”
“You’re apologizing to the wrong person.”
Director Liu was displeased when he heard that.
He apologized to Shi Sui because of the latter’s status in the industry.
‘Xiang Yi is just a girl. Not only did she not suck up to me, you want me to apologize to her?’
Director Liu subconsciously blurted, “Is that even necessary?”
The moment he said that…
Director Liu’s collar was violently grabbed by someone, after which he felt an irresistible force that flung him to the wall.
“Unnecessary, huh?”
The window was half open, and the summer breeze blew in but Director Liu felt a chill that penetrated his heart.
“Yes, it’s necessary!” Director Liu was so shocked that his legs went limp and his voice became shaky. “Shi Sui, take it easy, this is the third floor!”
The pair of eyes behind the gold-rimmed glasses was hostile and menacing. He was completely indifferent and emotionless.
The man finally removed his gentle facade, revealing his domineering aura that was usually well hidden.
“Go apologize to her.” The man’s voice was clear. “Immediately.”
…
…
Only half of her hair was braided and Director Liu suddenly dashed in, nodded, and bent forward to apologize to her in a humble manner that was a stark contrast to his attitude just now.
“Ms. Xiang, go ahead and get busy. I shall not disturb you anymore.” Director Liu hurriedly came and left.
Xiang Yi was confused.
It was just quite sudden.
The makeup artist was stunned too. “Why… why is there a sudden change in his attitude? Did the sun rise from the West today!?”
Xiang Yi shook her head to indicate that she wasn’t sure.
A while after Director Liu, Shi Sui returned.
“Is the café very far away?” Xiang Yi felt that he had been away for quite a long time.
“I accidentally spilled the cup I got so I went to get another one.”
At that, Xiang Yi immediately asked nervously, “Are you okay? Did you scald yourself?”
Shi Sui concealed his left hand behind his back and said, “It’s nothing.
Xiang Yi was so anxious that she exclaimed in a puerile voice, “Let me see!”
Only then did Shi Sui “reluctantly” show it to her.
His light blue veins could be seen vaguely under his pale and cold skin. There was some redness from the scalding, which was extraordinarily obvious even though the burn wasn’t serious.
The make-up artist thought Xiang Yi would say something like “How could you be so careless?”
However, she sighed and said, “You really are too delicate.”
The makeup artist: ????
“From now on, you’re not allowed to do these tasks. Let me do it!” Xiang Yi said seriously.
Shi Sui laughed and said, “Okay. Thank you, Xiang Yi.”
The make-up artist was immediately confused. ‘Is Shi Sui…such a freeloader?!’
…
The film set.
Shi Sui first shot a few literature scenes which mostly comprised of his character arguing with the male lead. He was good at memorizing lines so he managed to nail the scene in one take.
Immediately afterwards, it was time for him to act alongside Xiang Yi in the same scene…
