"What's funny?" Shi Qiao asked with a frown, as he didn't understand the reason he was being laughed at.
"Nothing. I will be sure to leave some days off just to hang out with you." Meixu said to him and relaxed her back on the seat.
Her response was a surprise to Shi Qiao, who wasn't expecting her to agree to hang out with him, given their past relationship and the foundation it was based on.
"Do you mean your response?" He asked for confirmation.
Meixu pretended to be annoyed and said, "Don't you like it? If you don't, then forget it, I will find somewhere else to be at those times."
"Why are you in a hurry? I can't reject what I have been asking for. Thank you for your time in advance." Shi Qiao said with a smile. Meixu smiled back at him.
A few minutes later, their order was served. After hanging out that evening, Shi Qiao drove Meixu back to the Fu house.
"Who is that person that dropped you off?" Fu ChuHua asked Meixu as soon as she stepped foot into the house.
"Mum, have you been monitoring me?" Meixu asked.
Fu ChuHua smiled and said, "How can I monitor you? I don't dare. I just managed to see the car, it's a coincidence. So tell me, who dropped you off?"
Fu ChuHua was very much interested in her daughter's private life right now because she hoped for her to settle down soon.
"That's an acquaintance" Meixu replied and walked into the house. Fu ChuHua followed after her immediately as she seemed more interested now.
"How can you allow an acquaintance to drop you off at home? Why are you not security conscious?" Fu ChuHua asked.
"Mum, fine! That's my friend, and please don't follow me into my bedroom because I have nothing more to tell you." Meixu said as she climbed the stairs.
"This girl, why are so stingy? I'm your mother and you don't tell me anything." Fu ChuHua complained as she followed her.
Meixu got annoyed and stopped in her steps. And because Fu ChuHua was following her back to back, she almost bumped into her.
"Mum? Why are you acting like a gossip? If you are bored, go out to meet your friends. I don't have anything to tell you." Meixu said with creased brows.
Fu ChuHua looked surprised with how annoyed she looked. "Why are you so angry? I only thought to know what's going on in your life as your mother, since you don't tell me anything. Anyway, I won't disturb you anymore, go on to your room, but just don't forget to invite your boyfriend home as soon as you start dating."
Fu ChuHua did not wait for Meixu to reply before going back down the stairs. Meixu didn't have the energy to waste on her, so she turned around and continued her way up the stairs.
During the weekend, Jasmine spent half of it with her great grandfather. The two of them went to the strawberry garden to harvest the fresh succulent fruit. Trust Jasmine to eat while she worked.
Grandfather Fu stood by the side and watched the little girl who caught his attention. Jasmine picked up two strawberries from the basket and washed them in a big bowl filled with water. Next, the little girl walked up to her grandfather and handed one of the strawberries to him.
"Great Grandpa, take…" Jasmine said with her hand stretched out.
Grandfather Fu smiled and said to her, "Wait here, let me wash my hands." With that, the old man went to wash his hands, before pulling the little girl to sit on the basket chairs lined up at one side, before accepting the fruit from her.
One small and one big, took a bite from the juicy fruits in their hands and smiled happily. It was a symbol of the joy from their bountiful harvest.
After eating the strawberry his little great-granddaughter gave to him, Grandfather Fu asked the little girl, "Da Xia, would you follow me to give some of these strawberries to my friends tomorrow?"
"Yes, I will follow you! But great-grandpa, can I bring Paco along?" Jasmine asked. She remembered her puppy and couldn't help wanting him to along with her.
"Sure, you can bring Paco along." Grandfather Fu replied.
"Thank you, grandfather!" Jasmine said happily as she claimed her hands together.
"Good girl, go wash your hands." Grandfather Fu said to her as he pointed at the bowl of water at the side. After cleaning up their hands, the little girl and her great grandfather continued to harvest their strawberries.
After working for half an hour more, they washed their hands and went back to the house, while the servant carried the baskets of strawberries into the house.
Jasmine and the rest of the family members had strawberries for appetizers before eating their main course that night.
The next day in the morning, Jasmine followed Grandfather Fu to the strawberry garden to harvest more fresh strawberries that would be sent to his friends that morning.
Jasmine followed her great-grandfather to visit his friends and send them the freely harvested strawberries, and when they came back home, Jasmine was full of excitement and ran to show off the gifts she got, to her parents.
Nobody knew the little girl would be coming along, so a quick red packet was prepared and given to her. Jia Li praised the little girl for receiving gifts and promised to keep her money away.
What got Jasmine more excited, was the strawberry ice cream that was served to her. Fu Hee made the little girl know that it was her great grandfather that ordered it for her.
The little girl was grateful and quickly thanked the old man. That same night, Jasmine was thought something by her grandparents.
When it was the to go to bed, Jasmine insisted on spending the night with her friend which they agreed to, but who knew the little girl had an agenda?
"Mummy, when will I get a little sister or brother?" Jasmine asked with an innocent gaze.
Jia Li and Fu Hua were shocked by that question, as they were not expecting that kind of question from their 4-year-old….
