It was truly a happy scenario when Jasmine saw her parents walk in through the door. She immediately ran to hug their legs.
She first ran to hug her father while calling out in a cute voice, "Daddy!"
Fu Hua smiled and bent slightly to caress her hair while saying, "Hello, Princess."
Jasmine smiled and raised her head to look at her father, before moving her gaze to her mother and then running to her side to welcome her.
"Mummy!" Jasmine greeted happily and hugged her legs.
Jia Li chuckled softly and asked in a happy tone, "How are you, Jasmine?"
"I'm fine!" Jasmine said and slowly let her legs go. The little girl raised her hands in the air while saying to her mother, "Mummy give me!"
Jia Li knew what she was talking about since this wasn't the first time, so she replied, "It's heavy, you can't carry it."
"I can!" The little girl insisted.
Fu Hua smiled and said, "Just give it to her, she wants to help her mummy out."
Jia Li took out 2 heavy items from her handbag before passing it to Jasmine who has been asking for it.
"Thank you!" Jasmine said when her mother handed the handbag to her and she mimicked her by carrying it the same way she used to.
"This little girl likes carrying things that are bigger than her." Jia Li said as she and Fu Hua followed the little girl.
"I guess children of her age like doing that." Fu Hua replied. He found his little princess cute with the way she walked with her mother's handbag in her small arm.
When the family of 3 got to the steps, Fu Hua had to carry the little girl up the stairs while Jia Li took his work bag from him.
Finally, the three of them made it to their bedroom. After Fu Hua put the little girl on the bed and walked into the inner room, while she went on to play with the bag.
"Jasmine, what is this?" Jia Li asked while pointing at the zip of the bag.
Jasmine glanced at what she was pointing at and replied enthusiastically, "It's a zip!"
"Good girl. Mummy bought some cookies for you, do you want it?" Jia Li asked as she took the packet of cookies from her handbag and showed it to her.
Jasmine's eyes glistened when she saw the goody in her mother's hand. "Yes!" She said.
"Do you want me to open it for you, do you want to have some now?" Jia Li asked but the little girl shook her head. She didn't look like she wanted to eat the cookies now, so Jia Li handed the packet to her.
"Thank you, mummy!!!" Jasmine said in an excited tone as she took the cookies from her.
"You're welcome, my baby!" Jia Li said as she hugged her little bun. She only released her after she had left kisses on her cheeks.
"Do you want to tell mummy what you learned today?" Jia Li asked the little bun whose attention was on the packet of cookies in her hand.
Jasmine replied without looking at her, "No, I'm tired." Jia Li didn't know if she should laugh or cry. How could that little pumpkin say she couldn't talk about what she learned from her teacher because she was tired. She found her reply funny.
"Okay, since you are tired, mummy will ask you just two questions, okay?" Jia Li said while gazing at her and making a sign with her fingers.
"Okay." Jasmine said in agreement and Jia Li went on to point at the colors on the cookies packet and ask her their names.
Jasmine was misled by her mother who initially said she was only going to ask her two questions and ended up asking her 5 questions, which the little girl answered correctly.
Fu Hua who went in to freshen up, emerged some minutes later to see the two ladies having a conversation.
"I'm going to see grandfather in his study, give her to me, so you can freshen up as well." Fu Hua said with a smile.
Before Fu Hua could reach Grandfather Fu's study, YingPei had already snatched the little girl from his arms, so he went into the study alone.
"Grandfather, you asked me to see you." Fu Hua said as he went to sit in front of the old man who was sitting on his desk with a pair of reading glasses.
Grandfather Fu closed the book he was reading and glanced at him.
"The Huang family from **** city contacted me at noon. Mrs. Huang said she has something to tell me concerning Li girl. I wasn't that curious about it until I just got a call from the people we asked to monitor Jia Li's home."
Since it was a matter concerning his wife, Fu Hua showed deep interest and curiosity. "What did they say?"
"The Huang family visited Jia Li's hometown." Grandfather Fu said with a frown.
"Why would the Huang family visit Jia Li's hometown, do they have someone there?" Fu Hua asked as he didn't know the reason the Huang family who didn't have any connection with them, would visit Jia Li's hometown unless they have someone there to visit.
"I think so. The Huang family asked for directions to Jia Li's house and they visited her neighbor before going to see her Aunt. They spent a little time in these places, before going to the graveyard to see Jia Li's parents and dropped a bouquet on her mother's tomb. Do you think there is a relationship between the Huang family and Jia Li's parents?" Grandfather Fu asked with a careful gaze.
Fu Hua was really surprised to hear all of these. From the actions of the Huang family, it was obvious that there was a relationship between them and Jia Li's parents, otherwise, why would they visit their grave?
"Grandfather, I think there is a relationship between them but it's not known to us.. After Jia Li saved your life that time and we came to see you at her hometown, I had someone investigate her family but I didn't find out any relationship with the Huang family."
