"Father is not strict, he is mean, so don't try to sugarcoat it. I can't believe that after all these years, he still hasn't changed. I mean, how can a father abandon his child for so many years and hate her to the extent of not wanting to hear her name?." The third daughter asked.
The first daughter sighed and replied, "Sometimes, I'm grateful that I was married out of this family, otherwise I would have gone crazy long ago."
"I pity mother who has been living with him for over fifty years now. She must have suffered a lot more than us." The third daughter said as they slowly made their way to the storeroom.
Hearing the approaching footsteps, Old Mrs. Huang turned to glance at the hallway. The door to the storeroom was open, so she could see anyone coming towards that place.
Seeing her two daughters coming over, Old Mrs. Huang sighed and paused in her speech while waiting for them.
"Mother, why are you going through Li's stuff?." Her first daughter asked as she looked around.
"I miss her, and this is the only place that reminds me of her, the storeroom where all her properties are locked up instead of a bedroom." Old Mrs. Huang said with a bitter smile.
"We all miss Li, and I can't even remember vividly how she looks anymore, it's been so many years." The third daughter said as she took a good look at items that reminded her of her long-lost sister.
The servant picked up Huang Li's photo and showed it to the two women, so they could remember what their sister looked like.
"Li looks like that girl on TV. The resemblance is not much, but somehow, I get the same feeling when I see them." The first daughter said with furrowed brows as she stared hard at the picture.
"Just like that girl, Li wanted to be a Fashion Designer, could she really be Li's daughter?." The third daughter asked.
Old Mrs. Huang's eyes lit up, and she immediately reached out to hold her two daughter's hands and said to them, "That girl that looks like Li, can I see her pictures?."
The two women glanced at themselves before looking at their old mother.
Since none of them had their phones with them, they had to take their mother to the sitting room, before showing her the video of Jia Li's speech at the competition that was held in December.
After watching the video, the old lady said, "She does look like Li, find out every information about her, including her hometown."
On the last week of December, there was going to be a Chinese film festival award night, and all the actors were already getting ready for it.
Fu Meixu was nominated for an award, including her rival Zhi Ruo, so she was very busy while looking for the outfits that will make her stand out.
She has long placed an order for one of Jia Li's dresses, which will be delivered to her in 3 days. Now, she was already making contact for the exquisitely crafted jewelry she would wear on that day.
Fu Meixu didn't want to lose out to Zhi Ruo, as she knew she would also be putting in a lot of effort to stand out as well.
Because of how busy she was, she hasn't been home for more than a week. She already had a condominium where she could spend the night, and accommodation wasn't a problem for her.
Soon, the day of the film festival reached, and as Fu Meixu got ready, she couldn't help smiling at herself in the mirror in the floor-length gown.
Finally, after her makeup was done, the exquisitely crafted jewelry she had her eyes on, was finally secured around her neck. Placing her fingers on the necklace, she traced it with a proud smile on her face.
Her assistant who saw how happy she was, smiled and complimented her, "Miss, you look so beautiful tonight."
With her gaze still on the mirror, Fu Meixu responded, "I know. Now let's go and shock them with my arrival."
When they got to the location, Fu Meixu wasn't in the mood for petty attention. She didn't care if Zhi Ruo had arrived or not, and wanted to walk the red carpet quickly and go inside to get sitted. She already had the impression that all attention would be on her because of the details of her looks today.
To her, if Zhi Ruo has already arrived at the event, she would only think that she (Zhi Ruo) was lucky because of her overshadowing presence. What this means is that Zhi Ruo would be lucky if she appears before her, because once she arrives all attention would be on her.
But if she arrived before Zhi Ruo, then the latter would never get any attention, so she thought until she arrived and stepped out of the car only to see Zhi Ruo stepping out of her car as well.
Both of them arriving at the same time wasn't the deal, but at the fact, they wore dresses designed by Jia Li. These rivals stared hard at each other before Zhi Ruo scoffed and walked ahead.
There was anger written all over Fu Meixu's face as she watched Zhi Ruo walk towards the red carpet in one of Jia Li's dresses. She couldn't believe that they both wore the dressed from the same collection, which looked similar.
If the media attention wasn't on her right now, she would have gone back inside the van. But it was too late, as some of the reporters were already running towards her direction.
Someone even announced that she and Zhi Ruo we're wearing the dresses from the same collection which was designed by the newcomer Fashion Designer, 'JL'
"Is Jia Li's dress now what anyone can wear?." Fu Meixu said through gritted teeth before taking a smile to their media.
When Fu Meixu was asked while she wore one of JL's collections just like Zhi Ruo, she replied, "I don't follow others, I create a trend and others follow me.. I have always been JL's fan, and this is not the first time I'm wearing her dress unlike others, who just discovered her talent, and would want to trend because of her popularity now."
