Chi Yuanfeng typed in a QQ ID number and the search result came back with a rather artsy nickname: Eternal Summer.
“Unluckily for us, he’s set it so that only he can access it…” Chi Yuanfeng mumbled. “I only found it by accident and the number is all that I can remember. I’ve never seen any of the content on his page.”
“That won’t be a problem! I’ll have someone hack his account!” Fang Shanshan said confidently. She then made a phone call and the problem was solved in no time.
“We can see it now!” Chi Yuanfeng was elated. He then handed the phone to An Xiaxia.
For a brief moment, An Xiaxia hesitated.
She was a little scared all of a sudden.
She took the phone under Fang Shanshan’s and Chi Yuanfeng’s fervent gazes.
Everything in it was about her.
Looking threw the photos and texts, An Xiaxia felt as if she had traveled back in time and was looking through Sheng Yize’s memories.
Seven years ago.
An Xiaxia left him in winter, so Sheng Yize began to hate winter.
Summer was An Xiaxia’s favorite season, which made Sheng Yize hate summer as well.
He just did, illogically.
Unfortunately, in this northern city, spring and autumn were rather short. Summer and winter took up most of the year.
Every day without her was torture for him.
Sheng Yize looked like he was under some spell. He insisted he didn’t remember An Xiaxia and remained as excellent a student as ever. He still hung out with his rich friends, but every now and then, he would disappear all of a sudden.
Only Chi Yuanfeng knew where he was: he had gone to visit An Xiaxia.
Hiding in some corner she couldn’t see, he watched as she cried, laughed, and was elated when she outdid herself in the college entrance exam; he watched as she walked gingerly in her high heels, wearing light makeup that she had clumsily put on herself; and he watched as she sat in a corner, unnoticed, during her first autograph event…
There was so much more. He had almost masochistically watched her grow up.
That time when An Xiaxia’s classmate had pushed her into the lake, Sheng Yize had jumped in without hesitation. Afterwards, he had even threatened her classmates into keeping their silence on what he looked like.
After that first time, his disguise became more elaborate. He wanted to protect An Xiaxia without letting her know that it had been him. Hence, he made a decision: He wouldn’t let An Xiaxia see his face or touch his body.
When An Xiaxia was harassed by those drunken students that time, he had beaten them senseless. The only thing he could think of was that he wouldn’t let any other man touch An Xiaxia!
Sheng Yize wondered for some time if he had become a masochist of some sort. How could he be so heartbroken over a woman and couldn’t get over her no matter what.
He realized later that some people were irreplaceable and meant to be inscribed on your mind for life.
Tattoos could be removed, but a thorn stuck in the heart would remain painful for as long as one lived.
An Xiaxia was that thorn in his heart.
That day when she had been about to jump off the building, Sheng Yize thought he was going to lose his mind.
How could she?
He had lived through all these insufferable years, but she was now going to end her life?!
The moment he pulled her away from the edge, Sheng Yize wanted to hurl all kinds of abuse at her and slap her until she came back to her senses.
It was only when he heard her cry that he realized that his heart had melted for her again.
That day, An Xiaxia cried for a very long time at his side, but in the end, he could only rub her head and leave.
Those were the occasions that An Xiaxia knew about.
Only after reading through the entries did An Xiaxia realize that Sheng Yize had helped her far more than just three times.
Without her knowing it, he had participated in her life in this way.
He had been by her side all these seven years.
She burst into tears without warning.
