An Xiaxia’s first reaction was: this had to be a mistake!
She trotted out of the house and the delivery guy hadn’t left yet. She said hastily, “Excuse me, but I think there’s a mistake… I didn’t buy all these cell phones…”
The delivery guy shook his head and reassured her, “This parcel was arranged by my supervisor in person and I checked the delivery details many times. There’s definitely no mistake. Maybe someone else bought it? How about you ask around?”
After that, the guy went off to deliver his other parcels, leaving An Xiaxia behind in utter confusion.
She went back in and leaned on the bar with a distressed look on her face. She then asked Papa An, “Dad, is it possible that someone has robbed a cell phone store and sent the phones to me to frame me?”
Papa An was also a little confused. Putting them all together, the dozens of phones were worth a small fortune.
Father and daughter had a discussion and were about to call the police when Sheng Yize returned home. Walking past them with his school bag over his shoulder, he said casually, “Oh, I bought those.”
An Xiaxia’s grandpa phone dropped to the floor with a clack.
“Sheng Yize, I know you’re a rich man, but do you really have to waste your money like this? Are you going to use one and toss the rest away?” An Xiaxia thought she was going to have a heart attack.
Sheng Yize hummed a noncommittal reply and went upstairs with an expressionless face. An Xiaxia ran after him on her short legs.
She yammered on about how wasteful he was the whole way and even followed Sheng Yize into his room.
Sheng Yize dropped his school bag, took off his coat and the school jacket, and was about to take off his shirt before he took a shower when he glanced at An Xiaxia and asked indifferently, “Are you sure you want to stay here and watch me undress?”
An Xiaxia turned pink. “Don’t change the subject… Hey! Aaah!”
Sheng Yize ignored her protest and unbuttoned the first two buttons of his shirt, revealing hints of his chest underneath.
An Xiaxia covered her eyes and turned around. “It’s all my fault… hm… Let’s talk like civil people…”
You can’t just take off your clothes without a warning!
Sheng Yize snickered. “Didn’t you say we’re done? And that you’re not talking to me?”
Well… he sure had a lot of grudges…
“Um… I take it back, then! Let’s make up and be good friends again!” An Xiaxia smiled wryly, but Sheng Yize turned stern at this. He spun her around and pinned her to the wall behind her.
“An Xiaxia, what do you take me for? Why should you define our relationship as you like?”
An Xiaxia was so nervous that all her limbs turned rigid. She shook her head fervently to indicate her innocence.
Just then, they heard Chi Yuanfeng talking to himself outside —
“Snowy, I’m going to fatten you up into a butter ball and find you a good husband…” Chi Yuanfeng was mumbling to himself. He then realized he hadn’t actually checked Snowy’s gender so far. Pulling Snowy’s chubby hind legs apart, he looked between them with great interest, and ended with a high-pitched shriek. “WTF! Snowy, you, you’re a boy! I’ve been doting on a male cat all this time!”
What should he do now? He wanted to bang his head against the wall! Aaaah!
Without knowing it, An Xiaxia had covered her mouth, fearing that Chi Yuanfeng would hear them inside.
If he saw her and Sheng Yize together in this position, she would never be able to clear her name!
“Ha…” Sheng Yize chuckled, as if finding her clumsiness distasteful. Hot breath came out of his nose and blew onto her cheeks, making her blush uncontrollably.
“The phones are for you. Just pick whichever you like,” he narrowed his eyes and said in a low husky voice.
Huh?
An Xiaxia was baffled. “Why?”
“Because I’m courting you, dummy!”
