People would always see the unknown as the greatest horror, but ignorant people would always be fearless. Zhang Lisheng, who felt that his mental state and body was not affected too much, thought that he had merely fainted for a while and wasted 3 to 4 minutes when he collided with the wizard gu during the transformation. He stood up, shook his head and began to continue transforming the nine-tailed lizard without even thinking about it.
Slowly exhaling and not inhaling, he spent another 30 minutes to exhale all of the air in his body out. When his chest sunk and the Demon’s image was formed, he began to inhale gently.
Influenced by the technique cast by the wizard, the space around the wizard gu began to distort slowly again. A gust of black smog appeared from the lizard’s skin and was sucked into Zhang Lisheng’s belly.
Another gush of acidic and bitter breath went straight to his brain. Zhang Lisheng tried his best to endure it but he gradually felt that his skin was seemingly cut by a sharp sword while his internal organs were seemingly pierced by bullets and spears. Not any inch on his body was without agonizing pain.
Despite the pain, when Zhang Lisheng saw that the lizard began to turn slightly blur, he could not help but feel rejoice instead of shock. He felt that he had endured the difficult barrier but to his surprise, the instant this thought appeared in his mind, the Demon’s image in his mind began to turn into a Money Toad’s image, causing him to faint right away.
Once again, he was saved by the jelly gem. Zhang Lisheng crept up from the carpet in a frown but when he was about to try to transform the lizard for the third time, he suddenly realized that the nine-tailed lizard’s body had already started to crack, unsuitable to be transformed anymore.
Sighing, he had no choice but to command the wizard gu to the factory’s underground to devour blood food, before trying to transform again when the lizard had already recovered.
This time, Zhang Lisheng was able to transform till black armor-like scales appeared on his body. His body became slender and thin, with four tails growing side by side on either side of his back and only then, Money Toad finally appeared in his mind and made him pass out.
After going through several failed attempts, by right, the young man who woke up for the third time should temporarily give up and try it again after finding the cause of the problem. However, such failures that he thought were not harmful that would make a person impatient actually elicited perseverance in him. After he woke up, he immediately tried his fourth attempt at transformation.
Just like that, after going through a cycle of passing out, waking up for seven to eight times, when the blood food in the slaughterhouse’s underground was about to be fully depleted, thanks to a lucky coincidence in one of his transformation processes, Zhang Lisheng finally grew the ninth scorpion tail from his caudal vertebra and his body began to turn invisible. In the end, he even disappeared without a trace.
In terms of feelings, he only felt that his body had suddenly exploded without warning. Consciousness immediately replaced his eyesight and spread to every corner of his gaze. When he was secretly feeling dumbstruck, he suddenly felt a sense of tightness in his body but right away, everything was back to normal again.
This strange and mysterious feeling of exploding and contracting constantly appeared again and again. The young man, who was constantly absorbing the black smoke floating out of the wizard gu’s body, had his body constantly disappearing and appearing in the office.
The nine-tailed lizard in front of him, on the other hand, gradually turned blurry and after the sixth cycle, it disappeared completely from this world, completely transforming into smog and was sucked in by Zhang Lisheng.
At this point, Zhang Lisheng’s transformation path of his level Rank-7 Wizard was finally completed in danger.
The grey jacket on him had already torn into pieces on the ground like rags. After Zhang Lisheng calmed down his ecstatic heart, he suddenly cast the lizard’s power.
In an instant, his body was pulled to a height of about two meters while black scales grew rapidly around his body. Nine scorpion tails protruded out of his skin and gradually swayed in the air, appearing to be ferocious.
After the completion of the transformation process, Zhang Lisheng’s scales automatically shone with a series of faint brilliance and began to change colors according to the surrounding environment, bringing him into an invisible state.
When the young man lowered his head and saw that his body was no longer visible, he suddenly rushed into the bathroom. At that instant when he got near to the wall, he allowed his consciousness to explode and his body nihilated as he went through the wall miraculously into the bathroom.
“The invisible and nihilation ability has indeed passed on to me.” Standing in front of the bright mirror of the washstand and looking at the empty mirror, Zhang Lisheng muttered in surprise. “If incantation works on this body as well, then the transformation of my Rank-7 Wizard will be considered as a success already…”
As he was speaking, he cast the incantation formed by the omniscient power ‘Devour the earth and sky, resize itself as it might’ on his body that had been transformed by the nine-tailed lizard. Without any conflict nor any hindrance, his body expanded to a height of four to five meters.
Curling his body, the young man tried to transformed his transformed state from the lizard to the Money Toad. After a sharp heart-wrenching pain which enveloped his body in an instant, he realized that the scales on his body began to turn larger and transformed to become green and yellow in color alternately. His body also turned from tall and skinny to sturdy and obviously shortened in height. However, his body size had expanded until it almost burst through the bathroom.
“It took about six seconds for the conversion to complete. Even though it’s painful, it’s still basically nothing compared to having an extra life during a battle…” Now that everything had gone very well, Zhang Lisheng breathed a long sigh of relief and returned his body size to its normal state.
After that, he took a hot bath and after drying himself, he looked at the mirror carefully.
His hair had fallen off a lot and had now become much more sparse than before, but due to the reason that his hair was quite thick last time, the change was not that obvious if one did not pay attention to it.
However, the paleness of his face was really conspicuous. It was not obvious from afar but if one had a close observation on it, one would feel as though he had been through long-term malnutrition and that he did not have enough rest for a long period of time, causing his body to be very weak.
This kind of look made Zhang Lisheng seem like a heavy drug-addict who was obsessed with using drugs. However, it could be passed off in the pretense of a scientist who was obsessed with experimentation and had little rest.
Feeling that he did not have too much of an absurd change, Zhang Lisheng nodded and smiled at himself while looking at the mirror before walking out of the bathroom. After putting on a fresh set of clothes, he commanded wyrmdragon to turn invisible and flew out from the factory’s underground to crouch down in front of him.
Looking at the green dragon that had its fine hair flutter without wind, the young man who had just made a breakthrough to the Rank-7 Wizard and had obtained the sixth opportunity to refine his wizard gu began to cast the ‘transform’ spell through his mind, refining the wizard gu once again.
Unfortunately, after being nourished by his spell and blood essence, other than having its body size expanding from eight meters to nine meters long and the scales around his body darkened in color a little, there were no other changes on the wyrmdragon at all.
Feeling that cultivating the wyrmdragon to transform it into a real dragon was merely an absurd daydream, the young man could not help but sigh.
There was only one more wizard gu that he could continue to transform. Even though he was still far away from making a breakthrough to Rank-8 Wizard, let alone Rank-9 Wizard, Zhang Lisheng, who had always believed in “Those who do not plan for the future will find trouble at their doorstep” still felt that he needed to be prepared early.
After thinking about it, the young man shrunk the wyrmdragon and put it into his pocket, before commanding the huge spider who possessed the Encompassing Net omniscient power that he had just refined on Shrimp B1 Island a few days ago to turn invisible and crawl to his front.
He cast the ‘refine’ spell and refined it to become a sextuple refined wizard gu.
When the spider that had not been transformed was enchanted by the spell, its realization was completely different from the transformed wyrmdragon. After it was enveloped by its owner blood essence, the grimacing face behind its back suddenly cracked and turned into a huge wriggling meat hole that looked like a flower bud.
When the meat hole was closed, it still showed a grimacing face but when it was opened, it looked like a ferocious big mouth that was covered in pink-colored flesh thorns, appearing to be horrifying and disgusting.
“You’re really the ugliest and the most ferocious among all of the wizard gus that I had refined before.” When Zhang Lisheng saw the change that could be said as huge on the spider, a delighted look appeared on his face. He walked up to the wizard gu and stroked the mixed-color long and fine hair on its long limbs. “And there’s a Demon’s face behind you as well… Hmm, I might as well just call you as Ghostface…”
Just as he finished naming the spider ‘Ghostface’, his phone on the table began to ring and interrupted his mumbling session.
He snapped back to his senses and after giving a final stroke on the wizard gu’s endless stretch of fine hair, he commanded Ghostface to turn invisible and crawl back to the factory’s underground, before walking to his desk and picking up his phone.
As soon as the call was connected, Professor Steven’s heavy voice resonated in his ear. “Lisheng, something happened on Shrimp B1 Island.”
“What’s wrong, Professor?” the young man asked.
“Somebody broke into Effiny’s lab on the island. She’s currently suffering from a head injury and is now at the New York Medical Research Association Affiliated Hospital. According to that young man who’s her student and assistant, Justin, many of the lab materials and information have gone missing. This included that Gold Core as well.”
“You’re kidding, right, Professor? Who would want to go to the bunker on the supernatural realm’s island that is heavily guarded to rob a biomedical laboratory?” Zhang Lisheng asked in a dumbstruck manner.
“Of course it’s the intelligence personnel of other countries! They must have coveted their eyes on US achievements in the study of the supernatural realm!”
“Professor, you may not read the news very often so you may not know that on this planet we’re standing on that is now heavily damaged, the situation of the space door leading to the supernatural realm is completely different too. For example, the supernatural realm fought with the South African government was a steam civilization while Shrimp World No. 1 is…”
“Lisheng, even though I don’t often read the news, I don’t live on Mars either. I know about all of the things that you’re saying. However, before we have even personally stepped into other supernatural realms, how can we conclude that the study in Shrimp World No. 2 would be completely useless in analyzing these supernatural realms? In fact… Sh*t! It’s not the time to discuss this problem now. I’m also at the New York Medical Research Association Affiliated Hospital now so can you come over?”
“Oh, of course, Professor! I’ll go there right away! I’ll contact my friends on the road to see if I can get an expert that has the authoritativeness of neurologic surgery to take a look at Professor Effiny. Don’t worry, everything will be fine! Professor, everything will be fine!”
The phone went silent. It was only until Zhang Lisheng had hurried down the stairs and entered his car that Steven finally whispered, “Thank you, child. Thank you! I hope that everything will be fine as you said.”
