“Okay, I’ll give you a week’s time. If you regret selling it to me, then I’ll sell it back to you for the original price,” Shen Wan San paused, then bought the item.
Since they were business partners, there are certain unspoken rules that should be followed. Their friendship had to be taken into account when conducting business with each other. If Mr. Shen offered to give back the ring for free, then Lu Li would never take it back and it would affect their partnership in the future.
Maintaining the friendship while still keeping it professional was the key to their long-term success.
Since Lu Li was the supplier, the deal would always slightly favor him over Mr. Shen. However, he didn’t really mind because Lu Li was his best supplier.
“Thanks Mr. Shen. Both of us will profit from today,” Lu Li toasted as he raised his cup.
“Cheers!”
“Mr. Shen, we’re drinking tea. Please have some manners.”
“….”
Duke Spade had seen the little girl countless times and remembered her face clearly. No one else would return so frequently in such a short amount of time.
The surrounding players were stunned as they watch Remnant Dream buy yet another pair of Rings and run off into the distance.
“Whose kid is that? So rich,” they said enviously.
Lu Li had now spent 400 to 500 gold on Rings. There were very few that had the money to do this, so the mystery player was either from a major guild, a second-generation millionaire or a rich businessman. One thing for sure, no one would keep buying them unless they were profiting off them.
No one believed that the little girl was making money.
Not counting the Gold ring that they sold to Mr. Shen, Lu Li and Remnant Dreams hadn’t actually lost much. They had sold more than 300 Gold worth of rings and Lu Li had also kept two for himself.
“Silver again. So annoying!” Remnant Dream whined as she stomped on the floor then threw the Ring onto the table and ran off again.
“Twenty for this one and twelve for the other,” Shen Wansan offered, then said tiredly, “I think we should call it a day here. We should quit while we’re still up.”
“Hehe, a single Gold ring isn’t enough to make Duke Spade cry,” Lu Li laughed. “Do you really think I brought my trusty lucky girl along just for a couple hundred gold?”
Lu Li had brought Remnant Dream along because he wondered if her lucky hands would carry over.
The truth was, lucky hands would always be lucky hands.
After subtracting the cost of the Rings, they had profited 300 gold. If a normal person bought that many rings from Spiering, they would probably only receive a few Silver rings that were worth nothing on the markets.
Lu Li had heard in his past life that if someone profited too much from Spade, he would deny selling anymore Rings to that player.
At this rate, he would deny her tomorrow for sure.
If they couldn’t buy anymore tomorrow, then why not make as much profit as they could in one day?
“Two Silvers again! Hmph!”
“What a shame; where are the Gold rings? I don’t even want Dark Gold anymore – just one more Gold and I’ll be satisfied…”
Again and again, Remnant Dream proved just how much of a con-artist Duke Spade was. Their profit was slowly diminishing over time.
There was a rich second-generation millionaire who had bought Rings just like Remnant Dream was a couple of days ago. He sent out others to buy them for him and spent around 2000 to 3000 gold coins. In the end, the rings that he identified added up to around only 300 gold.
Lu Li did not want to make enemies with the company, but he thought that the players deserved some sort of compensation for this.
Dawn claimed to be a free-to-play game, but they had made more money than any other game in recent history.
“Another… eh, it’s a Gold ring.”
They had finally identified their second Gold ring and Remnant Dream’s depressed face brightened up.
Lu Li checked his records; Remnant Dream had bought more than 30 Rings so far, which meant that they had spent over a thousand gold. They would have run out of money ages ago if it wasn’t for Shen Wansan who was buying their unwanted rings.
“The stats are pretty underwhelming. 300 gold,” Shen Wan San sighed.
“No worries, keep going Dream. Do you have enough cash on you Mr. Shen?” Lu Li asked. He calculated and realized that he hadn’t lost any money overall. Because of Remnant Dream’s lucky hands, most of the Rings weren’t terrible and could be sold for some gold.
“What do you mean?”
“I mean if you don’t have enough cash on you right now, you should find a way to get more…”
“Haha, don’t worry. If I didn’t carry a couple thousand gold coins on me then I wouldn’t be a merchant.”
“As expected of a rich merchant. If I were to mug you right now, then I wouldn’t be so worried about money anymore,” Lu Li joked as he glanced at Mr.Shen’s money pouch and planned on emptying the entire bag today.
This time, Remnant Dream was taking longer than usual. After a while, she finally returned, wiped the sweat off her forehand and whispered to Lu Li, “I think someone is following me and it won’t be long until Spade denies us from buying the mystery Rings.”
“Hehe, don’t worry – we can’t PVP in town anyway,” Lu Li assured as he passed a potion to her.
“What’s this?” Remnant Dreams took it and asked.
“Drink it and you’ll know.” Lu Li was being mysterious.
In real life, Remnant Dreams would never drink something from a stranger. However, this was a game and she trusted Lu Li like her own brother, so she took a sip without hesitating.
“Ahhhh!” Remnant Dreams shrieked as she looked at herself in horror.
After drinking the potion, her already-miniature body had shrunken by a third and now looked like a little pork bun.
“Wow, as expected of the lucky hand,” Shen Wan San gasped.
There were three possibilities of drinking the Noggenfogger Elixir. The chance of transforming into a skeleton was the highest, and allowed the player to become as light as feather so that they don’t take fall damage.
Although Noggenfogger Elixir was referred to as the shrinking potion by players, the actual chances of it shrinking someone were rather low.
“Drink another one,” Lu Li said.
“Is this the Noggenfogger Elixir that I’ve heard so much about? It’s so amazing!”
Remnant Dream was shouting in excitement. She rarely wemt outside and didn’t have spare cash lying around to buy one. As such, she had only heard stories about this enchanting potion.
“Keep working for me today and I’ll supply you for free in the future,” Lu Li offered slyly.
“Wow, I’m a skeleton! So cool!” Remnant Dreams exclaimed as she examined her new body.
The second potion had transformed her into a skeleton, so Duke Spade wouldn’t be able to recognize her at all.
