The next day, Lu Li logged in later than usual; he had to take Lu Xin away for a check-up.
Lu Xin was making good progress. She was young after all and had a lot of potential. The doctors estimated that she would be like any other average child in about a few months time, but they also suggested another better treatment, which meant Lu Li needed more money. Fortunately, no matter how poor Ruling Sword was, Lu Li no longer lacked the money to support his sister’s treatment.
As soon as Lu Li entered the game, he received some bad news.
“Glory Capital must be insane.”
Square Root 3’s expression was dark. Usually, when he had such expression, it meant that things were getting very serious.
“What did they do?” Lu Li never underestimated Glory Capital, but he wasn’t afraid either. After all, he had set them up before in the past and the gap between the levels had basically been drawn even. It would be a pipe dream for Glory Capital to try and beat Ruling Sword by three levels again.
Not to mention, Ruling Sword was new and had only been formed this year. Even if they lost, no one would say anything negative about them.
“There are a few guilds who are hunting our people down. I’m assuming they’ve been hired by Glory Capital,” Square Root 3 said bitterly. Although they were now much stronger, they still weren’t strong enough to deal with this.
It wasn’t that the players from Ruling Sword were afraid, but as a leader, the first thing that Square Root 3 considered was the consequences.
If there wasn’t any profit in this, then he would have to consider the costs. Any loss that members received from participating in the fight would have to be somewhat covered by the guild, or else no one would be loyal to them anymore.
“We’ll use a bug for levelling. It isn’t any worse than levelling outside in the Wild and it’s very efficient,” Lu Li said.
“I know this, but how are we going to take down Wild bosses from now on. It’s hard for the Blackrock Depths to give us any Legendary equipment, and Dark Gold equipment is pretty much useless for competitors.”
Square Root 3 was troubled. It seemed like for the past two days, they hadn’t managed to lay their hands on a single Wild boss.
Wild bosses were tougher than dungeon bosses and many people fought over them, but the loot was guaranteed to be better.
Square Root 3 really put a lot of thought and heart into managing Ruling Sword.
“Right, that is a problem. They probably felt like they wouldn’t be able to drag apart the level gap anymore, so they’ve started to work on their equipment. Our equipment isn’t as good, and our technique isn’t any better either. This is tough,” Lu Li sighed as he rubbed his face. He didn’t know how to solve the Wild boss problem either.
Of course, there were still some unknown bosses around, but they were too hard to fight. Ruling Sword had limited time and they weren’t sure if everyone in the guild was really loyal.
What if someone came to steal their loot after they had almost taken down the Boss. This would be worse than not fighting the Boss at all and this was definitely something that Glory Capital wouldn’t mind doing. As for Drizzle Court and Peerless City, it wasn’t impossible to drag them to fight Glory Capital with Ruling Sword, but it would mean that the war would escalate to an entirely different level. Perhaps this was exactly what Glory Capital was aiming for.
“There’s only the two of us here. Lu Li, just tell me the truth. If we fight against Glory Capital, what are our chances?” Square Root 3 asked carefully.
This was a very professional question. Lu Li thought for a bit before he replied, “A few days ago, I thought we had a 70% chance, but after I saw the equipment that Sorrowless and White Westhill had, I feel like we only have 40% chance left. If they’re all equipped with Legendary equipment, then we’d have about 20% chance. If things get even worse, and they change all of their sets to level 60 legendary equipment, then we have no hope at all.”
“****, **** this, let’s just do it. I’ll try and get the equipment. If I can’t, I’ll go and beg the other clubs.” Square Root 3 was a little too anxious about the situation.
“Bro, don’t be silly,” Lu Li said as he held onto him.
“You never know what will work out unless you try it. I feel like nobody wants Glory Capital to receive first place.” Square Root 3 had a lot more to complain about.
“Of course they wouldn’t want Glory Capital to take first place, but they don’t want us to get first place as well. Otherwise, you can go try if you want. I bet they won’t even be bothered to find any excuses to turn us down.”
It wasn’t that Square Root 3 didn’t understand the logic, he was just frustrated from the constant percentage drop that Lu Li had given him.
“Then what do you say we do? I think even Peerless City won’t lend us equipment now, unless we’re fighting Glory Capital next,” Square Root 3 said as he sunk back in his chair.
“We can give Blackrock Spire a try,” Lu Li suggested as his eyes glistened.
In the past, the problem was that everyone was only level 55 or 56, so the Blackrock Spire wasn’t possible for them. The monsters there were above level 55 and the Boss was at least level 58 or even 60.
The 3-level gap rule can’t be ignored, especially for defensive classes.
There were usually two consequences of the level gap. Once the gap went beyond 3 levels, a player’s Armor will decrease below their usual Armor attributes. They would the highest possible damage, but this isn’t the worst part – the worst part was that they would be more prone to critical strikes.
It was dangerous for any tanks to take any critical strikes, not to mention if these strikes came consecutively.
The other consequences was between the Boss and the tank. If the Boss’ damage was much higher than the base Armor of the player, then special attacks would deal 1.5 times the usual damage. The higher the attack went above the base Armor, the greater this special attack damage became.
As such, when teams of random are looking for tanks, they usually considered how much Armor the tank had. Sometimes, they would also consider certain resistances, like Fire resistance, depending on the Boss.
Of course, even if they no longer had the level-gap issue, it didn’t mean that the dungeon would be easy either.
“Can we really do Blackrock Spire?”
It was normal for Square Root 3 to question this. This was because many players wanted to do the dungeon, but no one had yet managed to take down the first Boss. Even Seventh Heaven’s dungeon explore team didn’t manage to get any further. When the team came out, they were cursing a lot, and that was when everyone knew about how tough the dungeon was.
“You never know until you try.”
Of course, Lu Li couldn’t tell people that he had reincarnated, and that he wanted to use his hack again.
The Blackrock Spire and Blackrock Depths were quite close to each other; they were split into a top and bottom level. Based on the strength of Lu Li’s team, it would be best if they did the bottom level because the monsters there were easier. At the same time, they didn’t need to complete a quest for the keys on the bottom level. They would need the keys for the top level though.
