When Enthrall saw Lu Li’s Vanish, he focused his mental strength to make use of the increased Perception effects from his equipment. He was determined to pull Lu Li directly out of Stealth.
There was someone behind him!
Enthrall cast Trample without thinking about it further, creating a huge crack in the ground. However, he didn’t catch anything.
Trample was one of the most convenient ways to catch a Thief. It was instant, had a large range, and was applied all around him. As long as the Thief was standing next to the Warrior, he would be affected.
Unfortunately, Enthrall’s Trample had fallen short.
Those who had great knowledge in PVP knew how to deceive other players. They were familiar with the other profession’s skills and even psychological attitudes when in battle.
Lu Li was indeed behind Enthrall, but he immediately retreated once he got there to bait out the Trample. This was the skill that threatened him most.
The next thing he needed to bait out was Whirlwind.
Sap!
Enthrall didn’t move. As a Warrior, he wasn’t afraid of being hit a few times as he wasn’t going to die so quickly. His badge had to be used at the most critical moment..
In fact, most players who used the badge to get out of crowd control didn’t use it well, unless there were special circumstances like a player needing to be saved…
Lu Li obviously understood why his opponent wasn’t doing anything, so he cast a Premeditation + Cheap Shot + Shadowstrike. Now only did this cause Crowd Control and deal significant damage, but it also accumulated five combo points. These points were all exhausted by the his next skill, Disarm.
However, Enthrall seemed to have used a Damage Reduction skill, as the damage he took suddenly became negligible while he recovered from the stun.
In fact, Enthrall found himself in a conundrum – he wasn’t sure if he should use Whirlwind or not. If he used it, he had to deal significant damage, but his opponent still had his badge and various escape skills. On the other hand, if he didn’t use it, he could already see his HP rapidly dropping. The worst scenario would be him dying without getting the opportunity to use Whirlwind.
Lu Li cast Gouge, swinging his dagger directly at Enthrall’s face. After Enthrall was stunned, Lu Li leapt behind him and started attacking once again.
Even a Plate Armored profession couldn’t withstand the crowd control and continuous damage of Disarm. Enthrall couldn’t find an opportunity to bait out Lu Li’s badge or escape skills, so he just clenched his teeth and cast Whirlwind.
Lu Li was hit twice before he blinked outside of the Whirlwind range with his shoes’ effect.
He slowly raised his dagger and licked it as a damage value of over 100 appeared over Enthrall’s head.
Dammit, what kind of skill allowed a Thief to deal over 100 damage from range? Lu Li had even managed kite. After Enthrall stopped spinning, he cast Charge, wanting to fight Lu Li at close range.
After the Charge, Lu Li went back to his original rhythm of fighting.
Before Enthrall died, Lu Li also used his necklace’s special effect to recover some HP. In the end, his HP wasn’t any less than after he had killed the Mage – in fact, he had even gained some.
Lu Li wasn’t afraid of fighting in melee because he had a special effect that could rebound 30% of an attack and convert the damage into HP. This HP converting effect only worked in melee, but when coupled with Lu Li’s high Vampirism attribute, he had regenerated at least 10% of his HP in that battle.
The way that Enthrall had lost was rather pathetic and even the commentators didn’t know what to say.
In fact, nothing that they could have said meant anything anyway – a loss was a loss. Enthrall failed to eliminate Lu Li, which meant that he could actually defeat all five of Blue Universe’s players.
Of course, this had been done before, but not in this context. If a random team fought a celebrity player, this would obviously be what happened. However, this was a game in the top 16!
Blue Universe’s next player was a Hunter who had brought a rare Raptor pet with him.
Often, half of a Hunter’s strength came from their pet.
An average player would use a general pet that they would bring wherever they went, care deeply for, and treat like family. Even if they couldn’t afford to repair their equipment, they would still buy food
for their pet.
However, professional players would focus on training a few different pets to target several common professions.
A Hunter like Feather Enthusiast had a number of rare pets on hand to make up for his class’ shortcomings. He had to ensure that each of these pet’s levels weren’t too low.
Although the Raptor was a dragon character, Azeroth distributed them quite widely. There was quite a complicated variety of them, but only a handful of rare Raptors.
This one had a dark grey back and a scar on its face. Its greatest feature was its attack strength, along with its lightning-quick movement speed. It also had a Slash effect, which was useful against some Professions.
“Hi Lu bro, I didn’t expect to see you in the arena,” Feather Enthusiast beamed.
“Hello,” Lu Li couldn’t help but nod.
“In fact, we are forced to do this,” Feather Enthusiast said, scratching his head as he leisurely walked. “We signed with the Shen Group, and they saw that we performed well this season. As such, they forced us to work together. Otherwise, we would have to go to court…”
The players outside the arena didn’t know what they were saying. All they could see was that the two players weren’t fighting but were talking.
What was happening? Was he begging for mercy?
Lu Li looked at this player and was puzzled. If they were going to concede, shouldn’t it come from their Leader, Enthrall?
Moreover, Lu Li didn’t believe a single word coming from this guy’s mouth. Even if Water Fairy and her father were on bad terms, there was no way it would go to court. This was an internal family matter, so why would a big business leader make such a big thing out of it?
“…so, Lu Bro, how about you just raise your hand and concede for us?” Feather Enthusiast asked as he gave Lu Li a smile.
“…” Lu Li was too lazy to respond and just went straight into Stealth. He felt like his time was being wasted. He didn’t know what Feather Enthusiast had to gain from wasting time, as Lu Li’s HP and cooldowns were slowly regenerating.
