Chapter 1568 – Small Vermillion Bird (1)
When Shen Yanxiao was still a citizen of Long Xuan Empire, the emperor made a lot of difficulties for her because
of her Warlock identity. Not only did he give her the most difficult city to obtain, but he also did not give her any
assistance from the Long Xuan Empire. This single matter was already a big mistake.
If the emperor were not so cruel in the past, then Shen Yanxiao would not have cast away her Long Xuan Empire
citizenship.
“Ah, I am now really getting old.” After realizing how he failed to see such a promising little fellow, the emperor
endlessly sighed in sorrow.
……
Shen Yanxiao and Lan Fengli finally left the Imperial Capital, but they still did not leave the Long Xuan Empire
Xiu condensed his body beside Shen Yanxiao and, almost immediately, Taotie also came out of her body. While he
was on the road, he was very happy to eat the meat buns that Shen Yanxiao bought for him.
Shen Yanxiao hired a carriage and afterwards changed her appearance to assume the driver’s role.
In the carriage, Taotie was sitting in a corner eating his buns while watching Shen Yanxiao carrying the small
Vermillion Bird.
“Master, where are we going now?” Taotie blinked his eyes, noticing how this was not the way back to the Barren
Land.
Shen Yanxiao gently stroked the still heavily sleeping, small Vermillion Bird, “We are going to Vermillion Bird’s
home.”
“Vermillion Bird’s home?” Taotie was very confused.
“Vermillion Bird is currently very weak now. So, we need to bring him back to his old territory and let the fire
elements there wake him up.” Shen Yanxiao felt uncomfortable not having a young Vermillion Bird chattering in her
ears. Although she knew that Vermillion Bird was still alive, seeing him in this appearance made Shen Yanxiao’s
heart anxious.
Fortunately, Xiu told her that Vermillion Bird and Little Phoenix would immediately recover and wake up from their
slumber if she returned them to their former dwelling place and let them absorb the fire elements around the place.
Shen Yanxiao could finally feel relieved.
This time, besides going to the Long Xuan Empire to cruelly extort huge benefits from the emperor, her goal was
also to take Vermillion Bird to the Lava Valley.
On another side, the Phoenix couple had brought Little Phoenix back to Mount Ku Luo.
“Then, does that mean once we’re there, Vermillion Bird will wake up?” Looking at Vermillion Bird’s present
appearance, Taotie suddenly thought that the buns in his hands were not so delicious at all.
Shen Yanxiao stared at Xiu.
Xiu slowly nodded and replied, “Yes.”
The journey to Lava Valley was very long, and the only lively one inside the carriage was Taotie. Nevertheless, he
still spent most of his time on eating, as a self-proclaimed highly experienced foodie.
Xiu was as awfully cold as the thousands years of winter, while Lan Fengli also acted like an iceberg as he sat on his
seat. And along the road, although Shen Yanxiao was worried about Vermillion Bird, she had not opened her mouth
either.
The carriage finally reached Lava Valley. An average carriage would easily be burned down upon entering the Lava
Valley, so they simply continued on foot.
For a long time, Shen Yanxiao had not returned to Lava Valley. However, she could still remember her feelings
when she first entered this place..
At that time, it had never crossed her mind that she would be linked with the guardian beast of her Vermillion Bird
Clan.
Xiu walked beside Shen Yanxiao. The moment he went off the carriage, he immediately used his power to wrap the
group as to not be affected by the hot temperature of the place
Arriving at the Lava Cave, Shen Yanxiao took a deep breath and then proceeded inside while carrying Vermillion
Bird in her arms.
Inside the cave, it was as dark as it always used to be, with only the little brilliance of the firestone illuminating the
room. Shen Yanxiao carried Vermilion Bird to the center of the cave and handed the rest to Xiu.
He stood beside Vermillion Bird, looking at the furball lying on the ground, deep asleep. Xiu then slowly lifted his
hand and from his finger escaped a faint white light which slowly wrapped around Vermillion Bird.
