Next, sitting beside the mummified dead body, the elderly man started whispering, “Tong’er, how could you leave grandpa like this? First, it was your father that left this old man alone in the world, and now it’s your turn?”
Alas, no response came from the corpse as silence was the only reply he received in return.
After the death of Fan Tong’s parents in a plane accident, seeing the lonely Fan Tong with no mother or father, Fan Tong’s sympathetic and sorrowful grandfather had vowed to let Fan Tong do anything he desired as he began to spoil him to no ends.
If there was a car he desired, that car would appear in front of him instantly. If there was a building he wanted, that building would be his the next morning. No matter what, his grandfather satisfied every need of his to the point Fan Tong couldn’t really say there had ever been anything in life that he had wanted but was incapable of getting his hands on.
And now, looking at the horrid corpse of his grandson, the elderly knew there was one final thing Fan Tong yearned for.
“Don’t worry, grandpa will bring the bastard’s head and let you have it. Grandpa will buy you one last gift, the most expensive gift of your life, and send you in peace to the afterlife.” Being done with his words, a ruthless glint exhibited itself as the old man inquired in a deep tone. “Who was it? Which animal did this to him?”
At once, two Guardians dragged a bloody and naked woman in front of the old man. From her appearance, it was clear she had been beaten up and tortured using the worst methods possible.
If Hu Yuexin was here right now, she would’ve noticed the person being dragged was the woman Fan Tong was bringing with himself from the nightclub.
“We interrogated her… all she knew was that the perpetrator was a woman who was wearing a devil mask with two horns.” Without any delay, the man went on, “that was all we could dig up… until we received a piece of vital news from our people in the Abnormal Association.”
“Oh, go on.” Keeping his dark expression, the elderly demanded.
“Yes. So, we just received a tip that there’s been an unknown woman wearing a devil mask with two horns who has been going around stealing and killing the monsters of various Rifts without reservation or any permission. The Abnormal Association has already added her to their wanted list.” Bowing respectfully, the other man was done recounting everything.
“Hooo, is that so? That makes things much easier I guess. Now we can hunt her down in daylight with complete justification.”
Listening to the elderly to this point, the other man could instantly sense that the city was soon going to be thrown into chaos.
“Heed my orders! Use the Abnormal’s Association to notify every Guild, every Guardian, and every Abnormal in the entire country especially Shanghai, that criminal woman has stolen many reserved Rifts of other Guardians and in doing so has endangered the very foundation of the laws that maintain this country. She has committed treason and the penalty for that is death, therefore, let everyone know she is to be hunted down like a dog, and whoever succeeds in doing so and brings me her head will be rewarded with one favor from me plus ten percent of our company shares.”
By now, the other man felt like he had been drenched in a cold sweat as he concluded her fate, ‘She is done for.’ The mere notion of how much ten percent of the company’s shares were worth sent a shiver down his spine, he was quite sure that nearly all of the Guardians would be greatly tempted to stop whatever they were doing and go after this particular woman.
Not only the Guardians, even the other corporations and political figures of great authority would utilize everything in their power to win the reward which was going to elevate their status and power to a greater height.
With that, everyone was now bound to witness the power of one of the four richest clans in the city, one of the ruling powers of Shanghai at full display.
Of course, while all those notions were flickering inside him, he didn’t forget to confirm, “Yes, sir!”
“Good, let the hunt begin now.”
…
After leaving New York a couple of hours ago, the golden beauty and Virus finally reached the atoll as they left the private plane only to be greeted with the awaiting Island ugly. “Welcome, master.”
Catching the sight of the bowing Island ugly, Virus nodded content before moving along, “report me how things are progressing.”
“Yes, so, master, first regarding the C.E.L.L Project, it will be ready in a few days at most. The Shape-shifter Technology has been already added to your personal private spaceship. And I’ve also procured some of the best quality tea from around the world and put it inside your spaceship together with some Water of Life.” And with that, the Island ugly was over with his overall short report.
“Hmm, good! You also said you’ve prepared another Transportation Spaceship that is much bigger than mine, right?” He questioned further.
“Yes, sir! Although it’s practically the same as your personal one, its size can’t be compared to it.”
Nodding, Virus praised, “I see, you’ve done a great job, that’ll make what I’m going to do next much more convenient. But before that, I need you to prepare one more thing.”
Just as Virus was done with his words, the blueprint of a certain piece of technology popped up straight into the Island ugly’s mind.
“Master, from what I understand from the blueprint, this is similar to the shield technology within the spaceships, however, this particular one has been adjusted and mainly developed in order to cover a gigantic piece of motionless land, that is clear, inferring from the huge size of the various parts of the blueprint.”
Confirming the Island ugly’s deduction, Virus declared, “That is correct. The only reason this is possible with our current level of technology has to do with me removing certain features of the shield such as it being able to cover a moving object. Anyhow, how long is it going to take you to prepare?”
‘I wonder why master needs this…?’ The Island ugly could not stop this query from appearing in his head before he clarified his rough estimate out loud, “I would say it should be complete by the time I’m done with the C.E.L.L Project.”
“Okay, go do it then, Lil Belle and I will find our rooms ourselves.”
“Yes, sir!”
Following that, just after the Island ugly had left, Virus and the golden beauty were on their way to their rooms when something attracted Virus’s attention to itself, something he had been keeping under passive watch. Thus, without any delay, his mind connected to the world database actively.

Currently, in China, especially Shanghai, a tremor was shaking the country as every Guardian received a certain text that was attached with the utmost level of notice.
