Emmelyn really gave it a lot of thought.
Well.. maybe she could visit the old witch but refrain from talking about the prophecy or anything that would make her sad. If Mars could have fun by meeting his friends, then Emmelyn could too.
At this point, you could say that Mrs. Adlera was her only friend in Draec. They also shared the same homeland. At least she could come to her, ate cake and drink tea, and talked about their longing for Wintermere.
It should be better than staying in the castle doing nothing. The only thing she could do on her own here was reading or sewing. She had had enough sewing for this week.
If she kept it up, she might as well open a baby clothes boutique. Haha.
Hey.. it's maybe not such a bad idea, she thought to herself. She could make money since she didn't have any.
Come to think of it… should she ask for money from the crown prince?
It was true that he provided all her needs, but it would be nice to have golds in her pocket in case she needed it.
Emmelyn gave the crown prince a strange look.
"What are you thinking?" Mars had seen her gaze and realized Emmelyn was thinking of something.
"If I told you I want to go shopping in town, will you give me money?" She asked bluntly. "I don't have any money with me."
Mars was stunned. That's right. He didn't think of this before.
He just gave Roshan a bag of gold earlier today for redesigning their new chamber downstairs. Emmelyn must have seen it and thought that she could use some money too.
"Of course. All you need is ask," said the crown prince. He pulled her hand and walked to his study on the first floor. He opened the door for her and closed it behind him.
Emmelyn stood in her place, trying to see what he wanted to do. Was this where he kept his money? Ahh.. noice!
That meant he would give her gold like she asked.
She realized now that she shouldn't have felt bad about asking for money from him. She was initially worried he would think she was a golddigger or something if she asked him for money.
Apparently, her concern was not valid.
Mars went to his desk and took a small silver key from the drawer. He gave it to Emmelyn and pointed at a chest in the corner of the room.
"That's where I keep my gold. You can take as much as you want," he said casually.
Emmelyn was dumbfounded when she felt the cold metal on her palm. She turned to see the chest and then back to the prince.
Was he actually giving her the key to his treasure chest?
"That's just the money I keep here. Of course, I have so much more in the royal palace. If you need more, you can let me know."
Emmelyn batted her eyes in amazement.
So, HE REALLY GAVE HER THE KEY TO HIS TREASURE CHEST???
She couldn't believe what happened.
"What's wrong?" Mars furrowed his brows when he saw Emmelyn freeze in her spot. "Is that not enough?"
Emmelyn was snapped from her reverie and quickly shook her head. "No-no… it's e… nough…"
"Ah, okay." Mars was smiling when he heard her response. "I thought you need more since you didn't say anything."
Emmelyn was still in disbelief. So, when she asked for money from him, she didn't expect him to give her this much and actually ALL his money.
This meant so much to her.
Not only he loved her enough to give her whatever she wanted, no questions asked, but he also trusted her not to run away with his money.
In the past, he must be worried that if Emmelyn had the resources she might escape from his castle to get her freedom.
Now, he didn't have such worries because he trusted her completely.
Emmelyn could actually use the gold to bribe people to let her escape and then paid for her trip to go back to Wintermere or even bought a ship to sail to Atlantea.
However, now Mars trusted her that she wouldn't do that. That's why, him giving her the key to his gold chest held so much meaning.
"Thank you," the girl whispered. Her eyes were gleaming with tears.
"Hey.. hey.. Why are you crying?" Mars was shocked. He quickly took her to his embrace and patted her back. "I didn't give you the key to make you sad."
Emmelyn shook her head and replied with a hoarse voice. "No… I'm not sad… sobs… I feel touched… sobs…"
"Ah.. okay." Mars was relieved. He didn't think his gesture was anything special. To him, it was just the right thing to do.
Soon, they would get married and she would become the lady of this castle. Of course, she should keep their finances and manage his money. What was his would be hers anyway.
"Thank you. I will only take what I need," she finally added.
After he let her go from his embrace, Mars taught Emmelyn how to open the chest and showed her what's inside. "There are mostly gold in here. I don't have jewelry or anything of that kind, but if you'd like some, I can ask for them from the royal palace."
Emmelyn had never seen that much gold in her whole life. This was enough to buy land and the lordship title in the countryside. She didn't need this much, of course, but it was good to have access to such wealth.
"You can gift gold to the servants if you like their service, or you can use the money to buy anything you like in the shops when you go to town. You can also order stuff and pay for them. If you see anything lacking in this castle, you can have Roshan get them for you and you can just use this gold to pay. Basically, you can do anything you want," Mars explained.
