The corner of Yao Ran’s lips curled up into a cool smile.
At the front of the stage, Yao Tang grabbed a slip of paper and handed it to the emcee. Everyone held their breath.
To all of their surprise, she drew the last lot.
The members of Glory Orchestra watched in surprise.
Were they really that unlucky?
If they drew the last lot, this meant that the judges have already seen all the performances. That meant that they’d have seen all the other orchestras.
And as soon as they had reached the last performance, the judges would’ve already been exhausted by then. No matter how good their performance was, it wouldn’t be able to grasp their attention.
Yao Tang stepped out off the stage, without even glancing over at Cheng Yan.
As soon as she reached her seat, she patted the girl beside her. “Maybe you’d have better luck believing in science.”
Fang Hui frowned for a moment before saying, “Maybe this is a sign! Maybe we can surprise everyone with our last performance!”
“I…”
Yao Tang had expected that he’d be disappointed.
Having confidence was a good thing, but this was just…unordinary. The corners of her lips twitched.
However, before she could say another word, the members of the Glory Orchestra had already hopped in. All of them looked like they were happy about her lot.
“Captain, you really are lucky!”
All of them appeared to be sincere.
Yao Tang didn’t know what else to say. Just then, a voice came from the other side of the pew.
“Please, you guys are so lax it’s funny. Do you really thing you can do this? Aren’t you afraid that you’re just embarrassing yourselves?”
Hearing the mocking laughter coming from the members of the Shanna Orchestra, one of the men scowled. “How we perform has nothing to do with you! You better mind your own business! Let’s see if you can still hold on to your musical instruments once we’re done.”
“Also, when you finally see us perform, let’s see how you’ll fare!”
Their faces immediately changed as their eyes flashed with so much viciousness.
“Maybe I should stop,” he said mockingly. “I wouldn’t want to be a victim of your vicious tricks after all.”
Suddenly, Fang Hui joined in.
“Yes, I’m so afraid.”
The members of the Glory Orchestra began banding together. Their eyes were bright with mockery as they faced their rivals.
They weren’t going to back down now!
Just as they were going to say anything, Yao Tang turned to one of the senior staff members and said, “Senior, I think they’re deliberately causing trouble. Do you mind handling them?”
While her words were simple, it appeared to be quite effective.
The members of the Shanna Orchestra widened their eyes in disbelief.
How old were they? Why was she telling on them?
The staff from the Music Association stepped over. “What happened?”
“They’re the ones who started it!”
The people from Shanna Orchestra quickly explained.
“Yeah, we were just waiting for our turn when they started talking to us. Who knew that they’d be so bitter?”
“Yeah, they’re just too arrogant.”
“Do you really think we’d do anything?”
The staff from the Music Association frowned as they glanced at the members on the other pew. It was obvious that they didn’t understand the situation. However, Yao Tangdidn’t seem phased.
“If I remember correctly, this is supposed to be the waiting area for our orchestra, not theirs.”
Every orchestra was designated to one preparation area. The waiting area of the Shanna Orchestra was located on the other side of the room.
There was supposed to be another orchestra between them.
The staff from the Music Association nodded in agreement.
They could communicate with each other before the assessment, but as soon as it affected the others, they could easily be disqualified.
“Please return to your waiting area. This is your first warning.”
Wu Hai panicked, “Wait—”
“If you continue with this, you’ll be disqualified!”
Automatically, the members of the Shanna Orchestra backed down. They all retreated to their own side with their head bowed down.
